What HP based champions are

Blademaster Titan Event Guide

How HP Scaling Works

Some champions deal damage based on their HP instead of Attack or Defence, meaning the more HP they have, the harder they hit. This makes them very effective because building HP not only helps them survive incoming damage, but also increases their damage at the same time, allowing them to be both durable and strong attackers.

Why HP Based Champions Are Strong

HP based champions can deal strong damage while also being very durable because the same stat that increases their damage also helps them be more tanky. Unlike many Attack-based champions that need to sacrifice survivability for damage, HP-based champions naturally become tougher as they get stronger, making them excellent for longer fights and difficult content where staying alive is important.

It’s worth noting that most HP based damage dealers tend to specialise more in PvP and wave based content, often relying on conditional extra hits, passive effects, or unique scaling mechanics to maximise their damage potential. This is partly because Raid does not currently have an Increase HP buff like it does for ATK or DEF champions, meaning HP based damage dealers often depend on these additional mechanics to reach higher damage output.

Why HP champions are valuable

High survivability

Their naturally high HP allows them to survive much longer in difficult battles, making them very effective in content where incoming damage is constant or heavy. With a larger health pool, they can absorb bigger hits without being defeated, giving healers and support champions more time to recover their health and keep the team stable.

Balanced Damage & Protection

Because their damage scales from HP, these champions are able to deal consistent damage while being built much more tanky than traditional damage dealers. Increasing their HP not only improves their survivability, but also strengthens their attacks at the same time, allowing them to stay alive longer and continue dealing steady damage throughout fights.

Best Areas to Use HP champions

PVE Waves & Bosses

Their large HP help them survive difficult bosses and enemy waves across dungeons, Doom Tower, Cursed City, Grim Forest, and Faction Wars while still contributing meaningful damage or utility. This makes them especially reliable in longer fights and tougher stages, where absorbing heavy hits and handling sustained pressure is important. Many are also able to support the team through buffs, debuffs, or disruptive abilities while remaining difficult to take down.

Arena Battles

Their natural durability make them very effective in defensive teams, as they are much harder for enemies to quickly eliminate. This allows them to absorb damage, survive longer fights, and continue applying pressure or supporting the team over time. In PvP especially, this durability can make battles far more difficult for opponents, forcing them to deal with tanky champions that remain effective even during extended fights.

Taras

Taras the Fierce is such a strong champion because he combines durability with extremely high damage output, allowing him to survive heavy pressure while still threatening enemy teams. His kit scales incredibly well through his extra damage mechanics, making him far more dangerous than most traditional HP-based champions, especially in longer fights and high-level PvP battles. Taras also becomes stronger when alongside Marichka!

Embrys

Embrys the Anomaly Portrait

Embrys is extremely powerful across both forms, especially in PvP. His base form revolves around removing and converting buffs, applying crowd control, building Necrosis stacks, and dealing consistent damage, making him highly disruptive against enemy teams.

When shifting into his Alternate Form, he becomes a devastating HP based damage dealer. He can swap HP with an enemy, scale his Ignore DEF, deal double damage or ignores 50% DEF depending on enemy ACC, and even Block Revive through his A1. This combination makes him exceptionally threatening against both tanky and damage focused teams alike.

Magnarr

Magnarr, one of Nub Raids's Top 10 Epic Champions for Ice Golem.

Magnarr is one of the top HP based damage dealers for his rarity, with his main damage coming from his A2, which places an extra hit on enemies not under HP Burn while having a chance to Stun those who are. Under the right conditions, this skill is capable of wiping out enemies in both waves and PvP. Alongside his damage, he also brings utility through a random debuff spread effect, Decrease DEF on his A1, and naturally high durability due to his HP scaling.

Predator

As time has gone on, Predator has found a strong place within PvP thanks to his high damage output, Block Revive potential on his A3, and scaling damage on his A2, which increases with each subsequent hit while also ignoring 15% DEF when under Veil. His built-in evade mechanics add an extra layer of self-protection alongside Perfect Veil, helping him survive longer and gradually wear enemies down throughout the fight.

Sir Nicholas

Since Sir Nicholas received his buff and the introduction of his partner champion, Lady Noelle, he has become a far more powerful champion overall. When paired together, he can ignore 30% DEF with his A2, lure enemies into attacking him through Taunt, and make his A1 Freeze irresistible. Combined with his strong self and team protection effects, this makes Sir Nicholas a powerful all round option for both damage and sustain across a variety of encounters.

Narses

Narses is a powerful PvP nuker who becomes even stronger when paired with his partner, Ankora. His AoE attack can ignore 25% DEF, places an extra hit on targets under Shields or Strengthen, and its damage cannot be reduced by passive skills or masteries, except those from bosses. Passively, he also gains strong forms of self protection, while his A3 scales in damage for each buff on the target and can Block Revive enemies if they are killed while under three or more buffs.

Husk

Husk-Portrait

Husk is a classic Epic champion in Raid, and while many newer Enemy MAX HP champions have surpassed him over time, he still remains a strong progression option for bosses and wave content such as Faction Wars. His main strength comes from his single hit AoE Enemy MAX HP attack, which also has a chance to Stun enemies for added control. He also brings utility through his A1, which can Provoke targets like the Head of Decay in Hydra.

Artak

While not a traditional damage dealer on this list, Artak earns his place through his durability and impact against PvE bosses and waves. All of his attacks are AoE, allowing him to make excellent use of sets like Stun or Provoke for crowd control, or Cursed for encounters like Hydra. His damage primarily comes from placing HP Burn and activating those Burns for burst damage, while also bringing Decrease ATK and consistently attacking all enemies to maintain pressure throughout fights.

Belz

Belz the Reckoner Portrait

Belz brings a strong blend of damage and debuffs, able to apply Leech and Block Buffs to enemies in encounters like Hydra or wave content, while having access to both single target and AoE attacks. His A2 can steal buffs from a target, and if they are under Leech, Belz will also attack all other enemies. He also passively increases his MAX HP and C.DMG, stacking up to 50%, making him especially valuable in prolonged fights where his scaling can fully ramp up.

Shredder

Shredder Portrait

Rising from the Shadowkin comes Shredder. Whenever he loses 20% HP from one attack, his passive can trigger, allowing him to Evade the next incoming hit while placing Perfect Veil on himself. He uses this Veil to gain additional value from his A3, allowing it to ignore even more DEF while making his Leech debuff irresistible. His A2 further enhances his scaling by increasing his MAX HP up to 30% and destroying enemy DEF, while his multiple AoE attacks help wear down entire enemy teams over time.

How to build HP based champions

Predator_IG

HP & Speed Requirements

Firstly, you want to ensure you’re building your HP-based champion around the stat they scale from, being HP. Prioritising this key stat will maximise their damage output & sustain, alongside reaching 100% Crit Rate (unless their kit guarantees critical hits) and stacking Critical Damage to push that damage even further.

Once these foundations are in place, combining them with the right gear sets, alongside Relics, Masteries, full skill upgrades, and Blessings, will allow your damage dealers to truly reach their full potential. For champions who also bring utility through buffs or debuffs, make sure they have the required Speed and Accuracy for the encounter, with the Stages Tool helping you reach the right thresholds.

Recommended Artifact Sets

The best gear sets for HP based damage dealers are those that allow you to ignore DEF, such as Savage, Lethal, and Merciless. Merciless stands out as the top choice for PvE, offering the highest Ignore DEF potential alongside cooldown reduction, and even a chance for Extra Turns with the 9-piece bonus. If using Merciless, we recommend aiming for at least a 6-piece setup.

For earlier progression, Savage and Lethal are much more accessible, both requiring only a 4-piece set. Savage can be farmed from Fire Knight, while Lethal is crafted from Dark Fae materials. These can also be paired with other sets like Perception or Feral to help meet Accuracy and Speed requirements, especially for hybrid champions.

Additionally, any filler sets that provide HP stat boosts can be very useful. Stoneskin is especially strong for PvP, offering both defensive stats and protection from opening attacks through the Stoneskin buff, while Mercurial grants HP% and SPD alongside Total Guard stacks to further protect the wearer.

For tankier, buff focused support champions, sets like Bolster or Protection can be extremely valuable, helping improve team survivability while still allowing these champions to chip away at enemies when built with some offensive stats.

Tips for using HP champions

predator featured

Using HP based damage dealers effectively comes down to balancing survivability with offensive stats. While HP is their main scaling stat and naturally makes them harder to kill, Critical Rate and Critical Damage are still essential for maximising their damage potential, especially for champions focused on PvP nuking or wave clearing.

Because many HP based damage dealers rely on prolonged fights, passive scaling, partner synergy, or conditional effects, pairing them with strong support champions greatly improves their value. Buffs like Shields, Strengthen, Ally Protection, healing, and revives help keep them alive longer, allowing them to continue scaling damage and wearing enemies down over time.

Speed is also important, particularly for champions who rely on cycling abilities, applying debuffs, or triggering passive mechanics more frequently. When built and supported correctly, HP-based damage dealers become extremely durable, capable of dealing consistent damage while being difficult to remove from the fight.
