Alpha 2: Big Fixes, New Features, and a Better Player Experience
Godforge Alpha 2 is here, and the Fateless team has been hard at work refining the experience based on player feedback from Wave 1. Simon from Fateless has given us the full breakdown, and this update isn’t just a patch, it’s a big leap forward in gameplay, UI, and testing tools. From streamlined bug reporting to major hero adjustments, Alpha 2 is set to be the most polished test phase yet.
Live Podcast and Alpha Access Essentials
Before diving into the changes, there’s a big first: Fateless will host their first-ever live podcast featuring Big Papa Drock, Cold Brew, Sham, and Simon himself. They’ll be sharing early Alpha 2 impressions and answering community questions.
If you haven’t checked your email, do it now. Invitations have gone out to 48,000 players, but thousands remain unopened. Look for the subject line “We want you to join us in Alpha Wave 2”. If you plan to play on mobile, filling out the whitelist form is essential as without it, you won’t get access. The alpha supports specific devices only, but you can still enjoy full cross-platform play on the same account.
New Bug Reporting Portal and FAQ

One of the most important tools arriving with Alpha 2 is the player portal. This all-in-one hub includes:
- Known Issues list so you can see which bugs are already being tracked.
- FAQ Section answering common questions from Alpha 1, like how to enter windowed mode or why mobile devices heat up during play.
- Bug Reporting with the ability to upload screenshots or videos, select your device type, and add detailed notes.
The portal will also allow the dev team to reply directly to your reports for follow-up. This tighter feedback loop should make it easier to track and squash tricky bugs.
Imprints, Passives, and Hidden Ascension
In Alpha 1, the Imprint system was largely broken. Now, it’s fully functional, adding a second passive ability that can significantly change a hero’s playstyle. Players are encouraged to experiment with different imprint combinations to find powerful synergies.
A note for all testers: Ascension is still tucked away under the “Upgrade” button on the hero info screen. You’ll need Ascension Level 3 to unlock a hero’s passive. This UI placement will change for launch, but for now, keep it in mind.
Hero Unbinding and Quality-of-Life Updates

One of the most requested features is now live: Hero Unbinding. This allows you to permanently remove unwanted heroes from your roster in exchange for spirits matching their star level. Invested resources aren’t fully refunded, but you’ll get a significant portion back, making it easier to reallocate progress.
Other QoL changes include:
- Faction Sorting in both the roster and pre-battle screens.
- Thicker, more responsive UI bars for mobile upgrades.
- The return of clickable faction flags for quick information access.
These small but impactful tweaks should make roster management smoother than ever.
Caverns: Better Rewards, Cooldown Fixes, and Target Farming
Cavern progression has been rebalanced for a smoother experience:
- Massive first-clear ascension material rewards and doubled farming rates.
- Cooldown reduction scrolls now work correctly, instantly updating ability cooldowns.
- Target farming from Stage 121+, allowing you to pursue full gear sets instead of scattered pieces.
- More two-star spirits from Stage 140 onwards to ease progression bottlenecks.
Players can also reference stage-by-stage best drops — from heroes on Level 5 and 10, to experience and Godsteel on Level 9, and weapon drops on Level 8.
Boss Battles, Camera Tweaks, and Buff/Debuff Clarity

Fafnir is no longer an easy infinite-damage farm. He now gains immunity to turn meter and divinity control after they’re reduced, and grows more dangerous with each ultimate cast. These changes should make him a much more engaging challenge.
Camera views have been refined:
- Cinematic POV for close-up action.
- Top-Down View for full-battle awareness.
- Action Camera (isometric) for balanced clarity.
Buff and debuff icons are now 50% larger and come with an info panel for quick effect descriptions. Understanding mechanics like Ward or Corrupt is now easier than ever.
Hero and Battle Fixes
Dozens of heroes have been tweaked or rebalanced:
- Aphrodite received a nerf to tone down her ultimate chain potential.
- Hel had her ultimate redesigned to feel more impactful.
- Beowulf, Zeus, Shamash, Mummy, and others received fixes to broken skills or gear interactions.
- Battle bugs like Hercules’ multiple-death glitch and Isis’ infinite healing have been addressed.
The full patch notes, available on the player portal, list every change in detail — and there are a lot of them.
Final Thoughts: Alpha 2 is a True Step Forward
Alpha 2 isn’t about perfection — it’s about progress. With a smaller dev team balancing bug fixes against long-term feature development, Fateless has focused on impactful changes that will improve testing and make feedback more actionable. From the new reporting tools to meaningful gameplay tweaks, this wave should give players a richer, more refined Godforge experience.
