Alpha Wave 3 Winners Share Their Journey
The Godforge Alpha Wave 3 event was more than just a test. It turned into a proving ground for strategy, dedication, and raw community spirit. Fateless Game Studio invited players to dive deep into the Caverns, pushing as far as they could in a competitive format. The result? Stories of incredible endurance, brilliant tactics, and the rise of two powerful Pantheons who pushed each other to the limit.
In this podcast episode, Simon and Sham from the Fateless team sat down with several winners to unpack how they achieved their victories and what made this alpha so memorable.
The Grind and the Strategy
Right out of the gate, the Caverns proved a daunting challenge. The dev team made Alpha 3 significantly harder by limiting early legendary drops, forcing players to get creative with rares and epics.
Leiko, who was the first to clear stage 151, explained that success wasn’t just about rushing forward—it was about knowing when to pivot between farming and pushing. Farming weapons like Thunderbolts for max HP damage at key moments gave him the edge to pull ahead.
Phusion, who was second to finish the descent to 151, said that it was the support of the team around him that allowed him to keep on pushing. At one point being awake for 40 hours to ensure that ever important second spot.
One thing was clear though. For many players, Guan Yu emerged as a cornerstone hero, able to carry content that most others couldn’t.
The Rise of Pantheons
One of the most exciting outcomes of the alpha was the birth of competitive groups, or Pantheons, formed by like-minded players who collaborated to break the Caverns wide open.
The Hivemind: Forming from the foundations of the wave 2 alpha voice chat, they were know for the relentless testing of new strategies and the discovery of the Lady Xoc bug resulting in huge scaling damage in the final fight.
ELT: A collaborative, supportive crew who leaned on each other to refine their strategy.
While the groups were competitive, they weren’t enemies. Both The Hivemind and ELT pushed each other harder while fostering a spirit of camaraderie that highlighted the best of the community.
Star Hunters and Challenge Clears
Not everyone chased the same prize. Some focused on speed-clearing to 151, while others aimed to achieve all 300 stars from the challenge conditions.
Unbound Sage and Papa Tez made their mark by conquering some of the hardest challenge stages in the game. Stage 142 became infamous, demanding flawless strategy and niche picks like Shinagami for buff stealing and banish mechanics. After meeting the stage requirement, Unbound Sage was shocked to find out that actually he needed and Asgard team to get this elusive star, no need for Shinigami after all. Stage 149 pushed frustration to new levels for Papa Tez. With strict conditions on buffs and defense down. But persistence paid off for Papa Tez and he eventually got that all important star, before going to to complete stage 142 with the assist from his team.
Boss Slayers and Insane Damage Runs

The final competition wasn’t just about progression but also raw damage against Fafnir. DracoJoker and Sop4lin stunned everyone with record-breaking numbers, fueled by a Lady Xoc’s imprint and other clever synergies.
One highlight? Brynhild, an sometimes overlooked epic, became the star of the show, soloing through fights with a broken synergy that catapulted her into legendary status among players. It was a reminder that in Godforge, even “weaker” heroes can shine with the right setup.
Heroes Who Surprised Everyone
Throughout the alpha, unsung heroes stepped into the spotlight. Maria Morevna proved to be a delete button against buff-heavy enemies, while Mordred’s confuse and corrupt mechanics turned nightmare stages into manageable fights. Skadi offered crowd control that kept impossible waves in check, and Dracula showed surprising versatility on Fafnir.
The fact that rares and off-meta heroes had such a big impact thrilled both players and developers, proving the game’s design encouraged more than just legendary reliance.
The Community That Made It Happen
More than any one strategy, what stood out was the sense of community. Players stayed up for marathon sessions, coached each other through roadblocks, and even phone calls to ensure stars and clears were secured. Phusion said The Hivemind worked as a think tank, reducing hours of grind into minutes by sharing tasks across their members.
Even Fateless staff couldn’t help but get swept up in the excitement, admitting to playing alongside testers and feeling emotionally moved by the passion pouring into the alpha.
Closing Thoughts
Alpha Wave 3 proved more than just a balance test—it showcased the heart of Godforge: a mix of mythological heroes, complex strategy, and a fiercely dedicated community. Players like Leiko, Phusion, Unbound Sage, Draco Joker, Papa Tez, and many others demonstrated not only skill but the power of collaboration in breaking through seemingly impossible challenges.
As Fateless prepares for beta and beyond, one thing is certain: Godforge isn’t just shaping up to be another gacha RPG. It’s building into a game where community-driven discovery, underdog heroes, and epic competition all collide.
