Community & Content Creation with JKG

The latest episode of the Fateless Podcast was packed with engaging discussions, insights on content creation, and exciting talk about Godforge. Hosted by Brad (Chosen) from the Fateless team, this episode featured Sham and Simon, along with a special guest—content creator and long-time moderator Brandon (JKG Brandon).

Brandon, known for his involvement in the Raid: Shadow Legends community and his passion for gaming, joined the conversation to discuss his journey into content creation, his love for gaming communities, and his excitement for Godforge.

Brandon’s Journey into Content Creation

Brandon’s gaming adventure started with Raid: Shadow Legends, introduced to him by a co-worker at his banking job. Unbeknownst to him at the time, his boss had sent him a referral link, getting a nice in-game bonus in the process!

His first legendary champion in Raid was Septimus, but finding reliable content on how to build him was a challenge. That’s when he stumbled upon some of the first Raid content creators—Deadwood Jedi, Stu, Kizzle, and Simon—who inspired him to get into content creation himself.

Determined to make a mark in the Raid community, he bought a basic laptop, a cheap webcam, and a microphone to start his journey. Realizing that video editing wasn’t his strong suit, he shifted towards live streaming and eventually became a moderator for some of the biggest Raid content creators, including Deadwood Jedi and Mad Capper.

The Love for Gaming Communities

One of the key themes of the podcast was Brandon’s deep appreciation for gaming communities. From his early days playing Gears of War with a dedicated five-man squad to his involvement in Raid, he has always been drawn to the camaraderie of multiplayer gaming.

Brandon explained that he loves being the positive voice in a gaming community, helping to foster an engaging and welcoming environment. This passion for community-building is part of what excites him about Godforge, as he sees many members of the Raid community making the transition over to Fateless’ upcoming title.

Gaming Preferences: Big Hits & Unique Champions

Brandon shared his approach to champion selection in games. He prefers massive nukes, prioritizing high-damage builds over utility. Instead of always picking meta champions, he enjoys experimenting with lesser-used characters.

In Raid, he built and tested uncommon champions like Heartpiercer and Redeemer, proving that with the right gear, even low-tier characters could hit hard. His philosophy? If a champion has high multipliers, he’ll make it work—even if they aren’t practical.

This led to a discussion about Godforge, where he hopes to see an underappreciated, low-rarity character with insane damage potential. The team teased that there may be a common hero who surprises players with their strength, keeping Brandon—and the community—excited to discover them.

The Struggles of Content Creation & Staying Consistent

Content creation isn’t easy, and Brandon opened up about the challenges of maintaining consistency. Despite being active for over five years, he admitted that setbacks, real-life struggles, and burnout often slowed his progress.

For 2025, his goal is simple: consistency and steady improvement. To help with this, he has set up:

  • Custom motivational wallpapers on his PC
  • A whiteboard calendar for content planning
  • A commitment to join community challenges, like Simon’s Raid free-to-play challenge

Both Simon and Brad shared their own strategies for staying productive. Simon emphasized structured planning, setting aside dedicated time for content creation, tracking successful trends, and seeking inspiration from outside gaming content.

Brad highlighted the importance of continuous learning, setting weekly goals for improvement, and maintaining a backlog of video ideas to avoid daily creative burnout.

The key takeaway? Success in content creation is about discipline, forward-thinking, and adaptability.

Excitement for Godforge & IP Collaborations

Brandon’s excitement for Godforge was evident. He praised the art style, animation quality, and the dedication of the Fateless team in bringing the game to life. For him, the team’s “bet on themselves” mentality is inspiring, and he wants to support them not just as a game, but as creators chasing a vision.

He also brought up the idea of potential IP collaborations, wondering if Godforge might one day feature characters inspired by well-known mythological or fantasy franchises.

Some of his dream crossovers included:

  • Anime-inspired heroes (Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Death Note)
  • Classic dark fantasy themes (Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Soul Eater)
  • Luchador legends like Blue Demon (a famous Mexican wrestler)

Simon and Sham explained that while Godforge doesn’t currently include steampunk or gunpowder weapons, the team remains open to expanding the universe in creative ways. While an anime-style crossover may not fit the game’s aesthetic, reimagining certain legendary figures in Godforge’s art style could be an exciting possibility.

Favorite Godforge Designs So Far

When asked about his favorite Godforge designs revealed so far, Brandon had two clear winners:

Green Knight – “Absolutely number one.”

Freya’s Wings – “Incredible detail and beautifully done.”

Interestingly, he admitted that Loki’s design threw him off at first. The team teased that Loki’s final design might be one of the most polarizing in the game, with some players absolutely loving it and others unsure about its unique interpretation.

Final Thoughts: The Road Ahead for Brandon & Godforge

Wrapping up the episode, Brandon shared his vision for 2025:

  • Expanding his content across Twitch, Kick, and YouTube
  • Building a more consistent streaming schedule
  • Possibly exploring merchandise and artwork sales
  • Covering Godforge extensively

The Fateless team made it clear that they are deeply committed to supporting content creators and helping the community grow. Whether through direct partnerships, community engagement, or simply making a game worth covering, they want Godforge to be a home for passionate gamers and creators alike.

Brandon’s story is a testament to the power of betting on yourself, staying consistent, and fostering a strong gaming community. His excitement for Godforge is contagious, and we can’t wait to see what he—and the game—have in store for us in 2025.
