Right now, Fateless is in the pre-production phase, meaning they are focused on refining core mechanics and game structure before moving into full-fledged production.

In this phase, they are working within Unity, creating a basic framework for the game. The whitebox environment allows developers to visualize how large heroes will be compared to the landscape and environmental elements like statues and terrain. These placeholders help establish the foundation of gameplay before any detailed art or animations are introduced.

The goal of whiteboxing is simple: refine gameplay mechanics and test mathematical balancing. It’s all about making sure the game feels right before anything is polished.

Boss Design: From Concept to Reality
