Godforge: 5 Critical Mistakes to Avoid in Godforge Alpha Taverns

Godforge Alpha Taverns are all about strategy, efficiency, and making the most of your resources. With wave three promising intense competition, now is the time to fine-tune your approach. Here I break down the top five mistakes that can slow your progress—and some I made himself—so you don’t have to.

1. Letting Your Hero Roster Fill Up

hero crunching

One of the easiest mistakes to make is ignoring your roster capacity. When your hero slots are nearly full, any new heroes you acquire automatically become imprints instead of joining your team. This can result in losing key legendary heroes you were hoping to use.

To avoid this, regularly check your roster and clear space before starting new floors. Updates in Alpha Wave 2 will included a hero crunch system, which should help manage overflow and spirits for leveling.

2. Improper Gear Farming

Farming gear overnight can backfire if you’re not careful.

For the most part, boss stages are your best bet for a variety of gear drops, but each floor specializes in different gear types. For example, floors ending in one may drop only helmets, leaving you with an unbalanced inventory.

If you’re farming for long periods, aim for boss floors to ensure a mix of helmets, chest plates, gloves, and boots. Adjust your farming based on your specific gear needs to avoid an overabundance of one item type.

Floors above 120, all act like boss floors, so focus on targeting the gear sets you need.

3. Over-Investing in Low-Star Gear

gear quality difference

Godforge’s gearing system differs from many games. Gear quality is indicated by Roman numerals rather than stars: damaged (I), crude (II), superior (III), flawless (IV), and masterwork (V).

While it may be tempting to max out every piece, investing heavily in one- or two-star gear is inefficient. Higher-star pieces provide more stats for the same gold cost, so focus your resources on superior, flawless, or masterwork gear to maximize your efficiency and save millions in coins.

4. Wasting Universal Imprints

Universal imprints are valuable resources used for hero awakenings. I must stress saving these for legendary heroes, as using them on rares or epics early on can waste their potential.

The awakening bonuses from three-star and five-star awakenings are significant, especially for legendary units. Prioritize these imprints for impactful heroes to secure major power spikes in your roster.

5. Rushing Two-Star Completions

Finally, while aiming to two-star every stage straight away might feel necessary, it’s important to pace yourself. The final Fafnir fight on stage 151, does have multipliers affected by the number of two-star stages cleared.

But, focusing on two-starring every stage too early can drain resources and reduce efficiency. Strategically prioritize stages to maximize multiplier benefits without overextending your efforts.

Wrapping Up

Avoiding these five common mistakes will set you up for a smoother, more efficient experience in Godforge Alpha Taverns.
