Godforge Alpha 1: Stats, Bugs, and Breakthroughs

Godforge’s first alpha wave has arrived with a bang. Complete with wild bugs, intense battles, and a community eager to dig into every mechanic. Simon from Fateless Game Studio shared a full behind-the-scenes breakdown of Alpha 1 so far, and it’s a goldmine of insight for anyone testing or following the game’s development.

From top heroes and game-breaking bugs to system upgrades and player-driven feedback, here’s a streamlined look at how Godforge Alpha 1 is performing and what’s coming next.

Alpha 1 Overview: High Engagement, Platform Wins

Despite Alpha 1 being the “roughest” testing phase, over 5,600 players jumped in out of 5,700 invites, a massive success. While there were some early hiccups with mobile access (especially iOS), players managed to test across all four platforms: PC, Mac, Android, and iOS.

The goal? Find out if Godforge is actually fun. And by all accounts, it is. From team-building to combat flow, players have responded positively to the core gameplay loop, even with bugs in the mix.

Gameplay Insights: Camera Use, Hero Meta, and Power Progression

Players have embraced all three camera views, with the 3/4 isometric mode used by 34% and cinematic view by 23%. Many players switch views based on content, showing how adaptable the visuals already are.

Hero usage data is just as revealing:

  • Ramses leads the way with 240,000 combat uses
  • Lady Xoc and Isolde both close behind
  • Among legendaries, Heimdal, Ra, and Anubis dominate

Lower-rarity heroes like Skadi, Leonidas, and Hippolyta are also proving their worth, especially through the imprint system, which lets heroes become powerful weapon passives.

One of the biggest overlooked power boosts? Ascension. Many players missed it in the UI, but ascending to 3-star unlocks critical passives that significantly improve performance. That’s being addressed in the next update.

The Bugs: From Funny to Frustrating

Alpha 1 has delivered some classic bug-hunting moments. Highlights include:

  • Horus vs. Horus in an eternal duel over Isis
  • Hel reviving enemy waves without confusion (leading to full team wipes)
  • Aphrodite ulting too frequently
  • Imprints failing to activate unless re-equipped in the right order
  • Memory leaks on 2x speed auto-battle, causing slowdowns

And then there’s the Divinity-stealing weapon being used to build unkillable teams in the Fafnir boss fight. Because Fafnir never gets to ult, he can’t scale damage—making the fight far too easy. This will be fixed before the next testing wave.

Economy & Systems: Spirits, Gear, and Improvements Coming

The ranking and spirit systems confused some players, but once understood, they’re surprisingly efficient:

  • Commons = 1-star spirits
  • Uncommons = 2-star
  • Rares = 3-star
  • Epics = 4-star

Still, drop rates for 2-star spirits will improve in Alpha 2. The devs are also adding a hero destruction system so players can convert unwanted heroes into XP. Gear farming will also be tweaked to allow for multiple set pieces from the same stage, making grind efficiency feel better.

Endgame & Meta: Stage 151 and Infinite Teams

Roughly 1.5% of players have reached the current final stage: 151. Notable players like Jlong, Ragewood, and JRobo hit the top early, and the leaderboard is starting to show early meta trends.

Teams featuring Aphrodite, Zeus, and others are dominating the damage charts—appearing in 40% of top-performing team comps. Some fun surprises like Dracula and Ramses are also making appearances.

The devs are already working on countering the rise of infinite team setups with balance tweaks and boss scaling fixes to keep endgame content challenging.

What’s Next: Fixes, Tweaks, and the Road to Alpha 2

Here’s a quick snapshot of what’s coming for Alpha 2:

  • Major bug fixes: memory leaks, imprint issues, skill failures
  • Weapon and boss adjustments, especially for Fafnir
  • Improved farming: better drop rates, clearer UI, more gear efficiency
  • Spirit and ascension system clarity
  • Hero destruction and awakening polish
  • Minor mechanical fixes (e.g., join attack bugs, buff/debuff inconsistencies)

Fateless is actively listening to feedback, watching streams, and tracking player builds. The team is energized by the community’s passion and committed to making Godforge even better in the next phase.
