Godforge Alpha 1 Wrap-Up

Godforge’s first Alpha test is officially in the books, and the results are nothing short of incredible. Simon from Fateless Game Studio just dropped a massive update that dives deep into Alpha 1’s performance, key player feedback, standout stats, and what players can expect as Alpha 2 approaches. If you’ve been following the game or were lucky enough to play in the first wave, this is your go-to recap.

Let’s break it all down.

Alpha 1: Community Response and Engagement

Fateless sent out over 5,500 invites for Alpha 1, and the response blew expectations out of the water. With a 96% email open rate and 95% of those players logging in to try the game, Godforge clearly struck a chord with its growing community. Even Simon, a seasoned sales pro, was stunned by those numbers.

Out of the total pool, over 4,400 players logged in for more than three days, contributing nearly 46,000 total hours played. That averages to more than ten hours per active player, an early sign that Godforge is delivering that addictive core loop of building teams and overcoming challenges.

Alpha 2 Is Coming Fast: What You Need to Know

Alpha 2 kicks off on August 13, and this time, everyone who signed up at Fateless.gg will be invited. That means no more wondering if your email got lost. It probably didn’t. Just search your inbox for “Godforge” or “Alpha” and you’ll find it.

One critical point for mobile players is that if you plan to play on mobile, you must complete a device registration form. iPhone players need a 15 Pro or better, and Android users will need at least 6GB of RAM. Without submitting this form, your access will be blocked no matter how much you want to play.

What Alpha 1 Was Really Testing

Alpha 1 wasn’t just a stress test. It was about finding the fun. Fateless wanted to gauge if players were enjoying the game’s core systems, including hero building, team synergy, combat, and progression. Other major goals included testing camera perspectives, power scaling across heroes and gear, bug tracking, and refining enemy curve difficulty.

With over 4,000 bug reports logged (some duplicates, some truly unique discoveries), the dev team now has a goldmine of data to improve everything from passive skill behavior to visual glitches like the infamous “purple Tristain.”

Hero Usage, Meta Trends, and the Legendary Grind to 150

alpha stats

Stage 150 stood as the endgame goal in Alpha 1, and only 198 players managed to conquer it. The first to beat it, Blackbang (some question over this), did so in just over 48 hours. Absolute madness.

The dominant meta featured Heimdall, Shamash, and Zeus. Dubbed the “core three,” they were overwhelmingly popular. Heimdall was outright broken, Shamash’s revive and ally attack proved invaluable, and Zeus rounded things out with powerful utility. Other heroes like Aphrodite, Anubis, and Odin also made strong appearances in top comps.

Pro tip from the data: if you reached level 140, there was a strong chance you could push to 150. However, Stage 142 caused serious roadblocks, with a bugged, unkillable Isis causing 22% of players to quit progression at that point.

Survey Results: Did Godforge Find the Fun?

satisfaction stats

Fateless issued two major surveys during the alpha and received over 2,000 responses. Satisfaction ratings were strong across the board, with over 80% of players expressing that they were either satisfied or very satisfied with their experience. Even better, satisfaction increased as players spent more time in the game.

When asked if they would recommend Godforge to a friend, 82% said they were likely or very likely to do so. This level of engagement is a strong indicator of success. Nearly 96% of players said they were looking forward to returning for Alpha 2.

The biggest areas flagged for improvement were the user interface and camera controls. Players wanted better clarity on factions, more intuitive skill descriptions, and smoother bar visuals. Cameras were polarizing, with many using the top-down or three-quarters perspective, but not everyone loved the current implementation. While Alpha 2 will include some tweaks, larger fixes are likely coming closer to beta.

Content Creators, Rare Team Runs, and Standout Achievements

CC stats

The Godforge community is already buzzing with creators jumping on board. Ragewood was the first content creator to beat the game and in contention for first overall, Raven Pyros clocked the most hours during Alpha 1. One particularly epic feat came from Adventures of Adam, who cleared stage 151 using only rare heroes. This was a massive accomplishment that speaks to the game’s strategic depth.

Popular rare picks like Isolde, Ramses, Skadi, Dagonet, and Lady Xoc made regular appearances in early progression teams. This showcases that Godforge offers viable strategies beyond just stacking legendaries.

In terms of top 150 heroes, nearly all were legendaries aside from Beowulf. This highlighted the challenge’s intensity. Still, the diversity of successful team comps proves there’s room for creativity even at the highest levels of play.

What’s Next and How to Prepare for Alpha 2

The dev team is already hard at work on fixes and improvements. Imprints will be enabled and tested more robustly. Fafnir, the boss of stage 150, is getting a major overhaul to make him a true challenge. Bug squashing continues, and various memory leak and performance issues are being addressed. Some UI improvements will roll out in Alpha 2, with more significant changes planned for Alpha 3 and beyond.

About 40% of Fateless’ dev team is dedicated to alpha work, while the other 60% continues to build the core systems for launch. This means steady progress on both the immediate playtest experience and the long-term future of Godforge.

If you haven’t yet, go sign up at Fateless.gg. Alpha Wave 3 is on the horizon and will include the first true competition with prizes up for grabs. This is your chance to jump in, give feedback, and become part of something special.

Final Thoughts

Godforge’s Alpha 1 delivered exactly what it needed to. It proved that the foundation is strong and that the community is hungry for more.
