Godforge Alpha Friends & Family Feedback

The forge fires are roaring hotter than ever. Godforge is entering its long-awaited alpha phase, and the excitement is electric across the Discord! Simon from Fateless just dropped a massive update, breaking down the results of the Friends and Family wave and laying out what to expect as the Community Alpha opens up. If you’re eager to dive into the caverns, smash waves of enemies, and shape the future of this myth-infused battler, then now is the time.

Here’s everything you need to know about what’s been tested, what’s coming, and how your feedback is helping shape Godforge into something truly special.

Finding the Fun: What Alpha Testing Is Really About

Let’s be clear. This alpha isn’t just about getting early access. Sure, who wouldn’t want to jump in and start building up a squad of legendary heroes? But as Simon explains, the heart of the alpha is about finding the fun.

Are players enjoying the gameplay loop? Does it feel rewarding to take a freshly summoned hero from level 1 all the way through upgrades, ascension, and team integration? Are mechanics intuitive, and do they encourage experimentation? Those are the questions Fateless is asking, and the early testers are already delivering valuable answers.

And yes, so far, the verdict is promising. From crushing enemies with visually satisfying VFX to building creative team comps with underdog heroes, players are digging deep into the core gameplay and finding a loop that’s addictively fun.

Power Curves, Progression, and the Challenge of Balance

One of the major focuses of this alpha phase is the game’s power curve, which determines how hero strength scales through levels, gear, ascension, awakening, and imprints. Godforge layers its progression with multiple systems, and getting that balance right is no small feat.

Early feedback revealed some gaps, such as certain drops and materials (scrolls, books, ascension items) being too sparse in the early-to-mid stages. This left players with strong heroes but no real way to upgrade them. In response, Fateless has already started tweaking the game economy, ensuring that players can experience the growth of their favorite champions more consistently throughout the journey.

Then there’s the enemy scaling. Players who made it to the higher levels, shoutout to those grinding up to level 151, gave valuable input on stage difficulty. The infamous Level 95 Hercules encounter, for example, may need some tuning. Or maybe he’s exactly as indomitable as he should be.

Cameras, Combat Feel, and Control Issues

Camera perspective is a surprisingly impactful part of gameplay, and it’s another area getting serious attention. Players tested several camera types, with the “Top” view (behind the heroes) being the preferred option for those who experienced motion sickness or found other views disorienting. This was especially true during boss fights.

Combat feel is another pillar of the experience. From attack animations to ultimate triggers, players noted areas that lacked clarity. One example is not knowing when or how to trigger ultimates. The team has already improved UI elements, but more updates are on the way to ensure everything feels smooth and intuitive.

Auto-battle speed also came up. Right now, 2x speed isn’t cutting it for some players, especially during farming sessions. A 3x or 4x speed mode is on the wishlist and could be a welcome quality-of-life addition in the future.

Bugs, Systems, and Iteration in Real Time

friends and family stats

Let’s talk bugs. Over 200 bugs were logged during the Friends and Family wave. About half were already known, but the other half came straight from fresh eyes testing brand new team comps and scenarios. This is exactly why alpha testing exists.

That said, Alpha 1 will not be bug-free. There are simply too many minor and medium-priority issues to squash them all in time. However, anything classified as high priority will be addressed before public waves open up. The devs are prioritizing gameplay-impacting bugs and leaving isolated hero-specific quirks (like a rare freeze chance not triggering correctly) for later patches.

Many requested features, such as easier awakening with dupes, better tooltips for gear, and streamlined “chicken” leveling, are either already implemented for Alpha 1 or on the way for Alpha 2 and beyond.

Community Feedback That’s Already Making a Difference

Fateless is clearly listening. Here are just a few things they’ve adjusted or are actively working on based on player feedback:

  • Awakening System Overhaul: Now, duplicate heroes can be used directly instead of converting them into imprints at the Anvil of Creation.
  • Stamina and XP Boosts: Tweaked to make progression smoother and less grind-heavy.
  • More Epic Hero Drops: Floor 20’s guaranteed epics now include a wider pool, encouraging team variety.
  • Spirit Currency: Replaces excess low-rarity hero drops for easier, faster leveling.
  • Camera and UI Adjustments: More clarity around ultimate use, better controls for mobile sliders, and changes to camera perspectives during boss stages.

These are real changes made directly in response to testers. That’s what makes this alpha special. Players aren’t just along for the ride; they’re helping steer the ship.

Looking Ahead: Competition Wave and Beyond

The ultimate proving ground is just around the corner. Fateless has teased a final alpha phase that includes a competition wave, complete with leaderboards, top player prizes, and some jaw-dropping rewards. One such prize is a custom diorama by Squidmar’s team featuring your winning squad battling Fafnir in the caverns. Yes, your team, immortalized in miniature. That’s next-level cool.

Every alpha wave is building toward that moment. Systems are being refined, bugs are being fixed, and engagement is being tested. By the time the competition hits, players can expect a vastly improved experience and a serious chance to prove their mettle.

Final Thoughts: The Forge Is Lit, and You’re Invited

From what we’ve seen so far, Godforge is shaping up to be something special. It’s not just another hero collector. The combat feels impactful, the visuals are striking, and the mythological mash-up of heroes like Pangu, Gilgamesh, and the menacing Fafnir brings something unique to the table.

But this is just the beginning. Every bug found, every camera angle tested, and every piece of feedback is forging the future of this game.

If you’re lucky enough to get into the upcoming alpha waves, make your voice heard. The forge is open, and your hammer matters.
