Godforge Alpha Waves Announced
Are you ready to dive into the first-ever Godforge alpha experience? Fateless Game Studio’s Simon has just shared an exciting deep dive into what awaits players, including confirmed alpha dates, gameplay details, and juicy competition rewards that could land you in Las Vegas. Let’s break down everything revealed so you’re fully prepared to forge your legend.
What to Expect from the Godforge Alpha
First things first: remember, this is an alpha. It’s not the final game, so expect a focused, raw slice of Godforge gameplay designed for testing, feedback, and refinement before the official release.
In this alpha, you’ll explore the Caverns, the only game mode available for testing. Here, you’ll collect heroes through loot drops rather than traditional crystal pulls, allowing you to build out your squads organically as you progress. You can level up these heroes, develop their abilities, and challenge a mix of unique bosses alongside tougher enemy boss characters within the caverns.
So while there’s plenty to test and enjoy, many systems remain under wraps for the full release.
Alpha Wave Dates Revealed

Players have been eager for confirmed dates, and Simon finally delivered. Here are the official alpha waves:
First Alpha Wave:
Runs from July 23rd to August 3rd with around 5,000 players participating. This wave follows the current friends and family wave, where Fateless is ironing out glaring bugs with a small group of 100 internal testers and trusted community members.
Second Alpha Wave:
Begins August 13th and continues through August 24th. This will open up to a larger pool of players, targeting around 20,000 to 30,000 testers. Between waves, the devs will focus on bug fixes and bigger tweaks without interrupting the alpha play sessions themselves.
Final Alpha Wave:
Scheduled for September 3rd to September 14th. This wave is the competition wave, and it’s where things get seriously exciting.
Epic Alpha Competition and Vegas Trip
Yes, you read that right. The final alpha wave comes with an unforgettable competition. Fateless Game Studio is collaborating with Squidmar, the renowned 3D miniatures painter, to create a stunning diorama featuring Fafnir within its caverns. The top team on the alpha wave three leaderboards will have their heroes featured in this diorama, immortalised as they face off against Fafnir.
But it doesn’t end there. The top five players from this winning team will be flown out to Las Vegas to visit Verkos Vault, see the diorama in person, hang out with members of the Godforge team, and enjoy exclusive early play sessions of the game. Imagine telling your friends you’re flying to Vegas because you conquered Fafnir in alpha. That’s peak gamer bragging rights.
Beyond this grand prize, all alpha participants can expect cosmetic rewards and unique collectibles exclusive to testers, with scaling rewards for the top thousand and top hundred players.
Feedback, Devices, and How to Join
Fateless wants as much detailed feedback as possible during the alpha phases. All testers will need to join the Fateless Discord where dedicated bug reporting bots and feedback channels will be set up. Players can also opt in for daily surveys covering boss fight experiences, hero progression, gearing, and overall gameplay satisfaction. Those who participate in these surveys will earn additional rewards upon launch.
Device compatibility includes:
- PC and Mac
- Android phones with 6GB RAM or higher
- iPhones 13 onwards via TestFlight (due to Apple’s exclusion policy for dev builds)
TestFlight slots are limited to 10,000 players at a time, so Fateless will soon send out emails asking for your preferred alpha wave, device choice, and additional survey questions. Be sure to check your inbox (and spam folder) to secure your spot.
Simon recommends considering wave two if you’re not desperate to jump into the first wave, as wave one will inevitably have more bugs and fewer features fully polished.
Gameplay Sneak Peek: Caverns Runs and Heroes

Simon shared his own alpha experience so far, highlighting smooth gearing drops, functional set bonuses, and early game farming. He showcased a quick run with heroes like Leonidas, Dracula, Guan Yu, and Dagonet, demonstrating their flashy ultimates and synergistic abilities. His first legendary drop was Dra, who brings bleed empowerment nukes to the battlefield.
There are currently around 65 to 70 heroes available in the alpha build, each with new icons and fully working skills. Levels within the Caverns will reward a mix of hero drops, gear, awakening resources, weapon upgrades, and gold farming areas. Every stage will offer challenges to earn stars, keeping progression structured and rewarding.
Simon also teased multiple viewing modes within combat, from cinematic angles to classic isometric views similar to what players might recognise from other top gacha RPGs.
Final Thoughts
The Godforge alpha is shaping up to be an unforgettable testing ground, blending competitive stakes with community-driven development. Whether you’re aiming for leaderboard glory, keen to explore the Caverns’ bosses, or simply eager to support the game’s evolution, this alpha is your chance to be part of Godforge history.
