Godforge Gear Guide: Stats, Quality, and Farming Explained

In this article, we break down everything you need to know about gear in the Godforge Alpha Caverns—from gear stats and quality tiers to the best farming spots. Whether you’re climbing to Fafneer 90 or building out your perfect hero, this guide will help you make smarter decisions about what to keep, level, and equip.

Gear Stats by Slot

Each gear piece in Godforge offers a set of possible main stats, with some stats exclusive to certain slots. Here’s a simplified overview:

  • Helmets: Resistance, Accuracy, Initiative, Crit Rate, Flat Stats
  • Chest Pieces: Resistance, HP%, DEF%, ATK%, Flat Stats
  • Shoulder Pads: Crit Damage, HP%, ATK%, DEF%, Flat Stats
  • Gauntlets: Crit Damage, Crit Rate, Accuracy, ATK%, Flat Stats
  • Legs: Speed, HP%, ATK%, DEF%, Flat Stats
  • Boots: Speed, Initiative, ATK%, DEF%, Flat Stats

This variety allows for creative min-maxing—like stacking Crit Rate across multiple gear types or mixing Initiative with Speed for fast openers.

Gear Rarity and Quality

Gear comes in five rarities:

  • Common (no substats)
  • Uncommon (1 substat)
  • Rare (2 substats)
  • Epic (3 substats)
  • Legendary (4 substats)

The Roman numeral at the top right indicates gear quality:

  • I (Damaged) – lowest main stats
  • II (Crude)
  • III (Superior)
  • IV (Flawless)
  • V (Masterwork) – best possible rolls

Higher-quality pieces cost more gold to upgrade, but their improved stats justify the investment. For example, a one-star gauntlet at level 4 may give you +10% ATK, while a two-star grants +15%.

Farming Guide by Stage

cavern drops

Each stage number corresponds to a gear type drop:

  • 1s / 11s / 21s / etc. = Helmets
  • 2s / 12s / 22s / etc. = Chest Pieces
  • 3s / 13s / 23s / etc. = Shoulders
  • 4s = Gauntlets
  • 6s = Legs
  • 7s = Boots

Gear sets rotate every 30 floors. For example:

  • 70s = Claw (Crit Rate), Invoker (Resistance), Disruptor (Accuracy)
  • 60s = Slayer (ATK), Brawler (HP), Defender (DEF)
  • 50s = Falcon, Jaguar, Eagle
  • 40s = Claw again, and so on

Rare sets—beyond the standard ones—start showing up on higher floors and during special drops.

Understanding Gear Attunement

While not yet active in Alpha, gear attunement will eventually match specific gear types to class roles:

  • Plate = Defenders
  • Chainmail = Brawlers
  • Leather = Slayers
  • Cloth = Invokers
  • Nightweave = Disruptors

When this becomes relevant at full launch, matching your gear type to your hero’s class will further boost efficiency and survivability.

Final Advice

  • Don’t over-invest in low-quality gear—upgrade smart.
  • Prioritize high-impact stats like Speed, Crit Rate, and ATK%.
  • Focus on stats over sets at first, then optimize set bonuses later.
  • Use the infographic in-game to quickly check what drops where.
