Godforge Update: Mental Health and Dungeon Testing
The Fateless team is back with an exciting update on Godforge, covering three big topics: mental health, game polish, and the first look at dungeon battles. From real-world wellness challenges to in-game refinements, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes that fans will want to know about.
A Side Quest for Mental Health
Fateless has launched something different this time: a community challenge focused on health and wellbeing. It’s called the Fateless Side Quest, run in partnership with Race at Your Pace and supporting the charity Safe in Our World. This initiative is all about encouraging people in the gaming community to move more, track progress, and support mental health in gaming.
Participants can sign up for twenty pounds, set personal movement goals, and log progress through apps that track almost any activity. Walking, dancing, gym sessions, or sports all count. Some members of the Fateless team have already joined teams like the Buzzing Bees, committing to everything from gym sessions to long walks. The event makes raising money for a great cause feel like part of the adventure.
Game Polish in Full Swing

On the development side, Fateless is now out of alpha and in a phase where new features are constantly being added. With campaign, dungeons, and arena already in early testing, the game is rapidly growing. Developers are using strike teams to test each feature and then refine them with player feedback.
A key area of focus right now is polish. Heroes like Aphrodite, Lancelot, and Achilles have been receiving visual upgrades, from improved facial details to refined textures and animations. Lancelot’s armor and weapon designs already looked great, but his face and hair didn’t meet the studio’s standards until the new polished model was created. The same goes for Achilles, whose updated textures give him a sharper, cooler look that matches his legendary status.
The Power of Optimization
Fateless has also secured direct support from Google engineers, focusing on optimization for mobile devices. This partnership is helping the team cut down load times, improve roster and portrait screens, and boost overall performance. The optimization work even allows for more polygons on screen, which means crisper visuals across the board. For players, that translates to smoother gameplay and better presentation on both PC and mobile.
Bringing Heroes to Life

One of the biggest parts of polishing involves completing missing assets. King Arthur now finally wields Excalibur in-game, complete with VFX planned to give the legendary blade even more presence. Heroes are also receiving ability icons, idle animations, and fine-tuned details that make them feel more alive.
The team has multiple 3D artists dedicated purely to these polish passes, ensuring every hero in the roster meets the visual standard Fateless is aiming for. It’s the kind of work that might not always stand out immediately but makes a huge difference in how the game feels to play.
First Look at Dungeons

Dungeon content is beginning to take shape. Players can already test boss encounters in environments designed with stunning artwork. Although placeholders still exist for rewards and UI elements, the structure is in place. Features like stage pickers and reward previews are being implemented, letting players see progression paths before entering battle.
The Forge of Brokkr dungeon is one example now in testing, complete with bosses, environmental detail, and the ability to unleash hero ultimates in battle. While camera work and some abilities are still in development, the foundations are clearly being laid for one of the game’s core progression systems.
The Excitement and the Chaos

With so many systems going in at once, the development environment is equal parts thrilling and chaotic. Adding new content often breaks existing features, which means constant bug fixing alongside rapid progress. For the Fateless team, it’s a balancing act, but the sheer pace of improvement shows how far Godforge has come since the early alphas.
Final Thoughts
This update highlights two sides of Godforge’s journey. On one hand, Fateless is encouraging the community to prioritize mental health through the Side Quest charity challenge. On the other, the studio is polishing heroes, building dungeons, and laying the groundwork for smoother, more immersive gameplay. It’s a combination that shows Fateless isn’t just making a game, but also fostering a healthier, more connected community around it.
