Khoronar Rebalance – Does this help?

Plarium has announced a new update for Khoronar, and while the patch includes several technical improvements to his kit, the overall impact has left many players wondering if the buff truly benefits the player base — or just makes Khoronar more frustrating to fight against in AI-controlled content like Doom Tower and Cursed City.

Here’s a full breakdown of what’s changed:

Rebalance Adjustments

Flourish of Slaughter (A1)

Before:

  • Attacks all enemies with a 50% chance to reduce each target’s Turn Meter by 5%.

After:

  • Now reduces Turn Meter by 10% instead of 5%.
  • If Minaya is on the team, Khoronar now hits twice, and the Turn Meter reduction becomes 100% chance. However, each hit’s damage is halved.

Beastly Bellow (A2)

Before (Ascended):

  • 75% chance to place Provoke on all enemies for 1 turn, applies Block Debuffs and 60% Increase DEF on self for 2 turns. If Minaya is present, removes all debuffs from Khoronar before placing buffs.

After (Ascended):

Now includes a clause: if Minaya is on the team:

  • The Provoke cannot be resisted.
  • Removes all debuffs from all allies, then places Block Debuffs and 60% Increase DEF on all allies for 2 turns.
  • These upgrades turn Khoronar into a team-wide cleanser and protector — but only when paired with Minaya.

Battle Waltz (A3)

Before:

After:

  • Now applies both Decrease ATK and Decrease DEF to all enemies unconditionally.
  • If Minaya is on the team, both debuffs cannot be resisted, requiring no accuracy.

Aura – New

Khoronar now provides an Aura:

  • Increases Ally RES in all Battles by 80.

Verdict – Help or Hindrance?

While the changes add layered improvements to Khoronar’s skillset, nearly all major benefits are locked behind the presence of Minaya. This includes:

  • Unresistable debuffs
  • Cleansing and buffing the full team
  • Reliable turn meter control

However, Minaya herself wasn’t adjusted in this patch — and many of Khoronar’s “new” buffs duplicate support already available in her own kit. The overlap reduces the uniqueness and appeal of building the duo unless you’re specifically tailoring your comp around them.

To make matters worse, these buffs make AI-controlled Khoronar significantly stronger in content like Doom Tower waves, where unresistable provokes and mass buffs can now be applied without needing accuracy.

Final thoughts

This rebalance gives Khoronar a clearer identity as a control-heavy team protector, but only when built alongside Minaya. Without her, the buff value is minimal, and he remains a low-damage, situational pick.

For most players, this update feels like it does more for the enemy AI than for your account. If you’ve got both champions and the resources, they may now be a solid control duo for wave content — but if you were hoping to pull Khoronar out of the vault as a standalone unit, this may not be the buff you were waiting for.
