From troll snow baths to orcish Bloodfang duels, the realm bursts into life beneath drifting snowflakes and roaring hearths.
But beneath the laughter and feasts lies a story as old as the frost itself, the legend of Snowfest’s origin.
The Hero of Dawnshire
Long ago, in Dawnshire, at the foot of Sylvania, a terrible curse of endless winter gripped the land. The Lady of Gale, an elemental of pure frost, blanketed the mountains in ice, freezing all who dared to approach.
Only a fearless hero answered the call. Battling through storms and shadow, he climbed the cursed peak and shattered the spell, carrying down a frozen vulture as a symbol of victory. From that day, the people sculpted animals from ice and snow. A living tribute to humanity’s triumph over the dragon’s wrath and the cold’s dominion.
The Frost Mage and Lake Chastity
In the troll legends of Sylvania, the mighty Lake Chastity was once a vast ocean. When the Dragon Rage threw the world into chaos, the frost mage Hvitar rose against the storm. With a surge of ice and the spirit Mog-Nach, he froze the seas and sealed the tempest forever.
Each Snowfest, trolls return to that sacred lake to offer prayers, honoring the moment their ancestors turned chaos into calm.
Traditions of the North
For humans, Snowfest is a time of friendly rivalry and outdoor thrills. Along the Surka River, villagers host daring boat races across the frozen water, while mountaineers scale icy cliffs in displays of courage and skill. When the slopes grow slick and silver, it’s time for ski contests, laughter echoing through the frosted peaks.
Meanwhile, at Sunrise Camp, the legendary bard Alton leads the revelry. Travelers sculpt shimmering instruments from ice for a chance to perform alongside him and whether or not their music soars, every performer is treated to a grand feast worthy of song.
