Grave of Rot – Dungeon Guide
Grave of Rot is the third and final primary gear dungeon in Dragonheir: Silent Gods, and it is where you will spend your time farming all things Accuracy!
In this guide we will aim to tackle any questions you might have and help you to be able to clear this dungeon to the highest stage, of course, this will be impacted by your heroes levels, so ensure they are at the maximum level that you can currently reach for the best chances of success!
With each new Season of Dragonheir, the bosses receive some tweaks to how they work, the base of this guide will focus on Season 1 Grave of Rot to cover the basics, and we will then cover the Season 2 and Season 3 variants towards the end of the article.
Rewards:
As mentioned above, this dungeon is all about Accuracy gear, which is incredibly important to your progress in other areas of the game.
There are 4 rarity tiers of gear that drops in the Grave of Rot, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and finally – Mythical.
Rare Gear: Stages 1-6
The rare gear in Dragonheir is a 2-piece set bonus, that awards you with +40 ACC, you can equip 4 of these items to get a total of +80 ACC bonus.
Epic Gear: Stages 4-12
Epic gear you can start to pick up once you get past stage 4 and it comes in 2 variants, similarly to rare gear these are also 2-piece sets.
ACC & Skill Haste: +40 Accuracy, +20 Skill Haste
ACC & Resistance: +40 Accuracy, +60 Resistance
The first set here is ideal for anybody who you are looking to rotate their skills more frequently, for example reducing your skill cooldowns to 18 seconds to match dungeon bosses, a tactic we highly recommend in our Grave of Curse guide, as well as later on in this guide.
Secondly, the Resistance and Accuracy set can be reasonably useful for early stat pushes for Resistance, which can be helpful when fighting bosses in Fey Meander, Ancient Battlefield and even here in the Grave of Rot, although a lesser-used tactic.
Ultimately, however, both of these sets in the early stages of the game will significantly help you reach the Accuracy requirements for your heroes builds, allowing you to push to higher levels of content.
Legendary Gear: Stages 7-12
Legendary gear is where things begin to get interesting, they are no longer simply 2-piece sets, but instead have a third bonus at 3/3 pieces, which make our builds significantly stronger.
There are 2 different sets available, just like in the Epic Gear, which change up with every season.
Season 1:
+40 ACC, +20 Skill Haste (2pc)
After the wearer unleashes their ultimate skill, all allies obtain 15% extra attack for 10.0s. (3pc).
+40 ACC, +60 Resistance (2pc)
When the wearer deals damage to an enemy, there is a 20% chance of inflicting Stunned for 3.0s. Derivative Damage won’t trigger this effect. (3pc).
Season 2:
+40 ACC, +20 Skill Haste (2pc)
After casting an ultimate skill, the wearer heals the ally with the currently lowest percentage of HP by [+15% Max HP]. (3pc).
+40 ACC, +60 Resistance (2pc)
When the wearer deals damage to an enemy, there is a 20% chance of inflicting Stunned for 3.0s. Derivative Damage won’t trigger this effect. (3pc).
Season 3:
+40 ACC, +20 Skill Haste (2pc)
After casting an ultimate skill, the wearer heals the ally with the currently lowest percentage of HP by [+15% Max HP]. (3pc).

Allies around the wearer gain a Defense Up equal to 15% of the wearer’s Defense. And the first time these allies’ HP drops below 50%, they receive [+20% Target’s MAX HP] healing. (3pc).
Mythical Gear: Stages 10-12
Mythical Gear was a new addition in Season 3, however was backdated to be available from Season 1 also, it consists of 4 unique items from the Grave of Rot, each with a very powerful 1-piece effect, making them the perfect partner to a Legendary 3pc set.
Tunnel King’s Cloak:
The wearer has an additional 50% chance of dispelling 1 buff from the enemy when inflicting debuffs on them.
Massif Colossus:
The wearer dispels 1 debuff from themselves when they cast their ultimate skill.
Absolute Deterrence:
The wearer is immune to a coming Stun. But each second of that Stun’s duration reduces the wearer’s ultimate energy by 6%.
Wolfspine Gloves:
20% of the damage dealt by the wearer will be converted to healing when their HP is below 50%. AOE Damage can only trigger 30% of this effect.
Skills:
Grave of Rot has 3 active skills for you to worry about, and two passive skills.
Control Immunity [Passive]
Immune to all control effects.
Source of Filth [Passive]
Basic attacks have a 50% chance of inflicting Poison on the target. For each existing debuff on the target, the damage dealt increases by 5%.
Putrid Breath [Battle Skill]
Deals Poison Damage to all enemies, inflicting Healing Prohibition and 5 stack(s) of Poison for 30.0s.
Rotting Assault [Battle Skill]
Deals Poison Damage to enemies within range, inflicting Recharging Speed Penalty for 10.0s.
Greedy Hunt [Ultimate Skill]
Devours the current target and chews them for 4s, dealing Poison Damage each second and restoring HP equal to 600% of the damage dealt.
How to Beat Grave of Rot:
When it comes to tackling this boss, the most important thing we need to look at is how to control the excessive amount of debuffs that the boss places on us, most importantly, the Healing Prohibition as it makes it incredibly difficult to sustain your team if you are unable to heal them!
There are a few key ways to do this:
- Bring a Cleanser or Debuff Immunity Buff.
- Bring Shield Heroes to mitigate the impact of the Healing Prohibition.
- Build your team with Resistance to ignore the debuffs (Less practical).
The other thing we have to consider when fighting Grave of Rot, is the ultimate skill where the boss will heal based on the damage it deals when devouring your tank, there are a few ways we can counter this:
- Heal Reduction/Prohibition Debuffs
- High Defense stats on your Tank
- ATK Penalty active
- Shield Buffs
Whilst blocking the bosses ability to heal nullifies that aspect of the skill completely, it is still important to realise that this skill can hit quite hard, so you should aim to incorporate at least one of the ‘damage reduction’ methods into your team as well.
Positioning:
Placing your heroes correctly in this encounter is incredibly important to avoid further debuffs and damage to your team, the second skill the boss has; Rotting Assault [Battle Skill] hits in a Diamond pattern, we want to ensure that our ‘weaker’ heroes are not getting hit by this as well as heroes who we cannot risk being inflicted by the Recharging Speed Penalty to avoid long cooldowns (For example, our cleansers).
In the image below, you can see that the two corner positions are completely safe from the recharging speed penalty, however, it is important to note that in certain situations; depending on who you are using for your support, you may have to tank the recharging speed penalty on more heroes to ensure that they are receiving healing from your team, or within range for buff dispelling.
This can be seen in Neva’s Season 1 guide for Grave of Rot, utilizing lots of obtainable heroes to defeat the boss at the highest level, including the rare Enna and the Epic Champion Vicuc who is obtainable as a ‘First Purchase Reward’. (This was previously stage 9 before the changes to Season 1 introducing stages 10-12).
Recommended Heroes:
There are many Heroes in the game who can help you to defeat this boss, here are our suggestions for some of the key roles:
Debuff Removal or Immunity
Heal Prohibition
Shields:
Tips:
- Due to the bosses 18 second skill rotation, you should aim to acquire around 60 Skill Haste on your priority heroes mentioned above, 40 of which can be obtained by wearing skill haste sets, leaving 20 to find on your runes.
- If you do not own strong supports who can deal with multiple debuffs on top of the healing or shielding requirements for the encounter, reduce the amount of damage dealers you are using, it will make the run slower but more reliable.
Season 2 Changes:
Season 2 brought some pretty large changes to Grave of Rot, firstly with the passive skill; Source of Filth [Passive] . Instead of simply placing poisons on your team and increasing the damage dealt to them, this skill will now reduce your Max HP equal to 3% of the damage dealt, and raises the damage dealt by 5% for every single debuff you are inflicted with [Not just poisons] – On top of all of this, whenever the boss takes damage from you, there is 100% chance to inflict 1 stack of Poison on the attacker.
Outside of these changes to the passive skill, there is two minor skill adjustments for the bosses active abilities, Putrid Breath [Battle Skill] will now only place one Poison debuff instead of the 5, this is countered by the fact we are receiving many more poison debuffs from the passive skill. Lastly, Rotting Assault [Battle Skill] now splits the damage dealt between all enemies within range, so the fewer heroes who are hit, the more damage that will be dealt.
Tip for tackling these skill changes:
- Stack your heroes more tightly to split the damage from Rotting Assault, this will mean that you need to worry about cleansing the debuff from everybody.
- More frequent cleansing to deal with the mass amount of poisons, more debuffs means more damage and more damage means more destroyed HP.
- Running TWO Cleansers for this fight is perfectly fine, the damage requirement is not massive, and we have 5 minutes to kill the boss.
You can see these changes below in Neva’s Season 2 Guide for Grave of Rot.
Season 3 Changes:
Season 3 brought an incredibly minor change to the passive skill once again, now instead of dealing 5% extra damage for each debuff on the target, it is 10%.
This means we don’t have to deal with things differently at all, it just increases the importance of dispelling the debuffs, and likely that we will want to run more Defensive stats on our heroes for this fight, especially till we are able to clear it more comfortably with lots of Legendary gear.
