Raid: Shadow Legends Instant Effects Index

Instant effects are groups of abilities that don’t place a buff or debuff for any duration but can influence your team or the opponents negatively or positively. There is a wide variety of effects that can have a significant impact on the success of your teams so it is important to understand how all the effects work. Below you can find all the instant effects that champions can activate. Click to view the full list of champions with the effect.

Spacer

Activate Burn/Poison

Triggers HP Burn and Poison debuffs to activate their effects. Damage dealt is equal to the number of activations depending on the skill.

Unlike explosion effects, activators consume the cooldown of a debuff to activate the damage and is not subjective to any enemy MAX HP caps.

Ally Attack

Attacks an enemy with allies on the team. Allies will always join with their default ability unless that champion has a unique ability/effect.

Ally attacks can be any number of allies and will not suffer a damage penalty like Counter-Attack.

Decrease Buff Duration

Reduces the duration of some or all buffs on the enemy targets by a number of turns depending on the skill.

If the buff has less turns than the reduction, then the buff is removed providing a pseudo-remove buff effect.

Decrease Skill Cooldown

Reduces the current cooldowns of some or all skills on target(s) by a certain amount of turns depending on the skill.

This incredibly powerful instant is rare and is particularly powerful when it completely resets your ally skills cooldowns.

Decrease Turn Meter

Decreases the enemy target(s) current Turn Meter by a specific amount depending on the skill quantity.

This instant reduces the turn meter not enemy speed so does not impact the enemy’s ability to refill the turn meter bar.

Extra Turn

Grants the champion an extra turn immediately after their current turn takes place.

Turn meter is not increased by allies or enemies when an extra turn is granted but the hero receiving the turn will reduce their cooldowns as if they took a full turn.

Heal

Restores a % or flat amount of health back to the target(s) on your team. The Heal is instantly applied to your champions.

Heals can be based on stats (such as defence) or based on the healer’s Current MAX HP or the Target’s MAX HP. The strength is determined based on this!

Increase Buff Duration

Increases the current duration of all buffs on target(s) by a set turn amount depending on the skill.

Taunt, Unkillable, Block Damage buffs cannot be increased by this effect but other buffs durations are instantly increased by this effect.

Decrease MAX HP

Reduces an enemies MAX HP based on the damage dealt or skill effect. Destroyed HP is visualised as a red bar on the enemy’s HP bar.

Decreasing a Target’s MAX HP reduces their ability to heal based on their max hp and reduces most HP based damage abilities.

Increase Debuff Duration

Increases the turns remaining on the target(s) debuffs by a set amount depending on the skill.

Hard Crowd Control abilities such as Stun, Freeze, Provoke cannot be extended by this effect.

Increase Skill Cooldown

Increases the target(s) current cooldown of their active abilities depending on the skill placing this effect.

Skills cannot be increased beyond their maximum cooldown and will start reducing after the target’s next turn.

Increase Turn Meter

Increases the target(s) current turn meter bar by an amount depending on this skill and conditions.

This is incredibly powerful when creating speed tunes to force slower speed champions to a higher turn rate.

Poison Explosion

Consumes all poison debuffs on the target(s) to deal Enemy MAX HP damage to the targets depending on the skill.

This will consume the strength and duration of poison debuffs to create an attack on an enemy – beware enemies with MAX HP caps!

Remove Buff

Removes singular, specific or all buffs from target(s) depending on the skill activating this effect.

Protected Buffs (identified by a yellow border on the buff) cannot be removed by this effect unless the skill states that it can!

Remove Debuff

Removes singular, specific or all debuffs from target(s) depending on the skill activating this effect.

Protected debuffs (identified by a yellow border on the buff) cannot be removed by this effect unless the skill states that it can!

Revive

Restores HP and sometimes Turn Meter back to an ally or allies that has been defeated depending on the skill’s effects.

Allies killed with a Block Revive cannot be revived by this ability unless otherwise stated. Some revives also will place buffs after reviving.

Spread Debuffs

Takes all or random debuffs from 1 target and places them on all targets on the enemy team. Debuff selected is dependant on the skill placing this effect.

Debuffs are spread with the original champion’s effects (such as bomb multipliers) and will copy the debuff’s duration that is being spread to all enemies.

Steal Buff

Takes 1 or more buffs from target(s) and places them on this champion depending on the skill placing this effect.

Stealing is not considered a buff removal so will not work with skills that impact removal of buffs. Buffs stolen will retain the duration from the origin champion.

Transfer Debuff

Takes 1 or more debuffs from the champion/team and places them on the enemy target(s) depending on the skill placing this effect.

Debuffs transferred often retain the duration from the target who held the debuffs. Unlike Reflect Debuffs, Transferring requires accuracy on the champion transferring debuffs.
