Twilight Lands – Vanguard Bond – Eternal Evolution

Spacer

Twilight Lands is the most difficult (but fun!) PvE content that Eternal Evolution has added so far. It gets harder as you progress through each chapter, fighting tough bosses and having to adjust teams as you change stages. The rewards for Twilight Lands, however, make it worth the time invested. Be sure to check out our overall guide for more general details on this stage of content. Let’s dive deeper into a more specific aspect of this content: the bonds.

Each stage will suggest the best recommended “bond” to beat it. The bonds are what help to give you advantages in each battle (though not always needed to follow.) For this article, let’s discuss the Vanguard Bond.

The bond reads as follows:

  • (2) When a Vanguard inflicts DMG to an enemy with less than 100% HP, ignore 50% of the target’s damage reduction.
  • (2) When a Vanguard inflicts DMG to an enemy with less than 100% HP, ignore 100% of the target’s damage reduction.

The Strategy

As you might guess, this is another place where Leo is the king. With Leo, this is very easy and simple to go up against. Without him, it’s one that should simply be skipped at higher stages. Early on, however, you can use also Luke for his True Damage for some quick easy fights. Of course, if you do have Leo and you decide to pick this one, you can pair him with other Vanguards. Crete is an obvious strong choice early on as he brings an AoE Decrease Defense as well. You should also bring in a 3rd Vanguard that can be Artas or Na Feng to help or even a fodder unit if you’re pairing with the Hagradon commander. Like the other setups, it’s best to use Hagradon with Pain Rune, Prism Amulet and Flashpoint. You can also use a hero like Bailey Hudson that works well with those items for additional damage but really Leo can be the star of the show (again). Pair him with 2 healers at high levels and he’s all the damage you need.

MVPs vs Vanguard Bond

Final Thoughts

You can pause, quit, and restart a battle and not lose heroes! Be willing to experiment to see what combinations work best for you. If you go in and someone dies too quickly, go out of the battle, change something, and try again. Even positioning can make a huge difference. Keep in mind the more people that beat a Chapter, the more “Herald’s Power” you get and the easier it will be when you try again. Stuck completely? Wait til more people fill up the leaderboard and try again!
