Champion Rebalance: Vergumkaar and Danag Skullreap Buffed

Plarium has revealed two Champion rebalances coming in RAID Patch 11.70. Vergumkaar and Danag Skullreap will both receive major upgrades.

Vergumkaar gains stronger cleansing, better buff removal, higher Speed, and a stronger Passive. Danag Skullreap gains more damage, easier debuff placement, and new tools against Elven factions.

Vergumkaar Rebalance

Vergumkaar

Vergumkaar has always offered cleansing, protection, and enemy buff removal. His updated kit makes each part of that role much stronger.

Bejeweled Bulk

  • The base chance to place Stun rises from 35% to 40%.
  • The bonus chance changes from 15% per buff to a flat 25% against targets with at least one buff.

Vergumkaar now has a 65% chance to Stun any enemy carrying a buff. He no longer needs several buffs on the target to reach a strong placement chance.

Honored Ancient

This skill receives one of the largest upgrades in his kit.

  • Removes all debuffs from all allies.
  • Places a 60% Increase DEF buff on all allies for two turns.
  • Places a Shield equal to 30% of Vergumkaar’s MAX HP for two turns.

The old version only removed Provoke and one random debuff. Its Shield was equal to 20% of his MAX HP.

Vergumkaar now brings a full team cleanse and a much larger Shield. This gives him a stronger defensive role in both PvE and Arena.

Crushing Trample

  • Attacks all enemies.
  • Has a 75% chance to remove all buffs from every enemy.
  • Has a 75% chance to place Heal Reduction and Decrease DEF for two turns.

The previous version removed up to two random buffs. The new version can strip every buff from the enemy team.

This makes Vergumkaar a far stronger setup Champion. He can remove protection, place Decrease DEF, and prepare the enemy team for your damage dealers.

Saurian Stoic

  • Vergumkaar becomes immune to Provoke and Stun.
  • He gains 25% Turn Meter each time an enemy tries to place Provoke or Stun on him.
  • He gains 15% Turn Meter each time an ally receives Provoke or Stun.

This Passive gives Vergumkaar more chances to cut into the turn order. He can then use Honored Ancient to cleanse and protect his team.

Base Stat Change

  • Base Speed rises from 99 to 104.

Five extra Speed makes him easier to build and helps him cycle through his skills faster.

Vergumkaar First Impressions

Vergumkaar now looks like a strong defensive support Champion.

His full cleanse, larger Shield, complete buff strip, and improved Passive give him a clear role. He should perform well against teams and encounters built around Provoke or Stun.

Hydra, Doom Tower waves, Faction Wars, and Arena all look like strong options for his updated kit.

Danag Skullreap Rebalance

Danag Skullreap receives an aggressive upgrade focused on damage and reliable debuff placement.

His debuffs can now bypass Accuracy checks when his Critical Damage exceeds the target’s Critical Damage. This lets players focus more stats on damage, Speed, and survivability.

Shatter Confidence

  • Attacks one enemy two times.
  • Each hit has a 60% chance to place Decrease DEF for two turns.
  • The debuff cannot be resisted when Danag Skullreap has more Critical Damage than the target.
  • The debuff cannot be blocked or resisted against High Elves, Dark Elves, or Sylvan Watchers.
  • The damage multiplier has been increased.

The old version had a 30% chance to place Decrease DEF. That chance only rose against targets under Fear or True Fear.

The new version gives Danag Skullreap far more reliable debuff placement without needing Fear support.

Bane of Elves

  • Attacks all enemies.
  • Has a 75% chance to place Decrease ACC for two turns.
  • Has a 75% chance to place True Fear for one turn.
  • The debuffs cannot be resisted when Danag Skullreap has more Critical Damage than the target.
  • The debuffs cannot be blocked or resisted against High Elves, Dark Elves, or Sylvan Watchers.
  • The damage multiplier has been increased.

Sylvan Watchers now join High Elves and Dark Elves as targets of Danag Skullreap’s faction-based effects.

Battle Flow

  • Places a 30% Increase C.DMG buff on Danag Skullreap before attacking.
  • Attacks one enemy.
  • Ignores Shield, Unkillable, and Strengthen buffs.
  • Ignores 20% of the target’s DEF.
  • Ignores 40% of the target’s DEF against High Elves, Dark Elves, or Sylvan Watchers.
  • Fills Danag Skullreap’s Turn Meter by 50% after a kill.
  • Resets the skill’s cooldown after a kill.

This skill now carries far more damage potential. The Increase C.DMG buff applies before the hit, and the added Ignore DEF should produce much larger numbers.

The Turn Meter gain rises from 30% to 50%. Danag Skullreap can return to his next turn much faster after securing a kill.

Healthy Grudge

  • Heals Danag Skullreap by 50% of his MAX HP each time he kills an enemy.
  • Grants an Extra Turn after killing a High Elf, Dark Elf, or Sylvan Watchers Champion.
  • Danag Skullreap counterattacks after receiving an attack from those three factions.

The counterattack gives Danag Skullreap another way to punish Elven Champions. It creates more chances to place Decrease DEF through his A1.

Ascension Stat Change

His updated skills reduce the need for Accuracy. The new Resistance stat helps him avoid enemy debuffs without taking power away from his damage build.

Danag Skullreap First Impressions

Danag Skullreap receives the larger power increase of these two rebalances.

His updated debuff rules make him much easier to build. Players can focus on Attack, Critical Rate, Critical Damage, Speed, and Resistance.

Battle Flow now looks like a serious single-target nuke. It brings a self-buff, several buff bypass effects, Ignore DEF, Turn Meter gain, and a cooldown reset.

Danag Skullreap remains an anti-Elven specialist, but his new damage and debuff rules give him more value outside those matchups.

Final Thoughts

Vergumkaar and Danag Skullreap keep their original identities, but both kits now offer far more value.

Vergumkaar becomes a stronger cleanser and protector. His improved Passive helps him react quickly against Stun and Provoke teams.

Danag Skullreap gains better damage, easier gearing, and more reliable debuffs. His new anti-Elven effects now cover Sylvan Watchers too.

Both Champions should gain new uses after RAID Patch 11.70 arrives.
