GRIM FOREST SPOTLIGHT – 5 NEW BOSSES

The Grim Forest is far more than a gloomy expanse filled with wandering horrors — it is home to five of the most intricate, punishing, and cleverly designed bosses Raid has introduced in years. Each one embodies a distinct combat theme, punishes teams that try to brute-force strategy, and demands that players adapt their approach entirely. If you want to clear the Forest, you must understand not just what they do, but why their kits are built the way they are.

This spotlight takes you deep into the mechanics behind all five bosses: Tauraze, Draugnell, Isheth, Maximoz, and the final boss, Leshun. Learn their triggers, traps, immunities, and hidden interactions — because The Grim Forest does not forgive mistakes.

Tauraze the Bestial Flame

Tauraze

Tauraze is the embodiment of wildfire and retaliation. His entire kit revolves around HP Burn, constantly rewarding him for spreading it and punishing you for attacking without it. His basic attacks can instantly trigger Burns or speed up his next AoE if no Burns are present. His other abilities establish a rhythm of constant pressure: a team-wide HP Burn application tied with Block Active Skills, and a self-buffed shield that cannot be removed, paired with Counterattack.

What makes Tauraze truly dangerous is his passive package. Enemies under HP Burn extend Tauraze’s debuffs whenever they hit him, and he gains massive Turn Meter boosts when attacked by targets lacking HP Burn. Meanwhile, he and his allies are completely immune to the very debuff he weaponises, while burning enemies take double damage. His immunity suite shuts down most forms of control, and additional passives cap MAX-HP-scaling damage and prevent speed manipulation.

He is the definition of a boss who forces you to play his game — and win on his terms.

Draugnell the Eternal Gatherer

draugnell

Draugnell is a frigid executioner who operates through Freeze, Turn Meter manipulation, and punishing retaliation. His basic attack provokes the entire team, while his follow-ups apply heavy Decrease ATK, Decrease DEF, and a wave of Turn Meter steal whenever Freeze is present.

His chilling passive gives attackers a 40% chance of being Freeze on hit while also halving the SPD of any Frozen target. With an entire toolkit structured around freezing and exploiting frozen enemies, Draugnell quickly turns your team into statues while he accelerates through turn after turn.

Living Reliquary further complicates things: Draugnell reflects half the incoming damage back at attackers unless he is suffering HP Burn — a rare conditional weakness. Otherwise, like all Grim Forest bosses, he carries the full immunity suite, MAX HP damage caps, and speed-control immunity, along with Flameproof to limit Poison/Burn cheese strategies.

He is a punisher of aggression and a boss who thrives when your team is unable to move.

Isheth the Crimson Siren

Isheth

Isheth is arguably the trickiest boss in the Forest, leveraging buff extension, mass cleansing, Master Seal, and continuous self-empowerment. Her opening swings don’t just attack — they extend ally buffs and trigger random Continuous Heals immediately. Her second major skill floods the enemy team with Continuous Heals before activating them all at once, creating a burst of sustain that scales with team size and turn cycle.

Her Doom Aroma strips all buffs from your team and applies Block Passive Skills, a devastating combination that removes your safety nets and prevents them from re-engaging.

Isheth’s passives transform her into a scaling monster: every active buff increases her damage output, and every Continuous Heals triggered anywhere on the battlefield boosts her Turn Meter and MAX HP. Her allies deal pure damage, bypassing DEF entirely, and she retains the standard Grim Forest suite of immunities and anti-cheese mechanics.

She is a tempo boss — the longer she survives, the more oppressive she becomes.

Maximoz the Weeping Blade

Maximoz

Maximoz is the Poison lord of the Forest, weaponising debuff extension, cooldown increases, and a brutal retaliation system. His basic attack increases all debuff durations and instantly triggers Poison, while Bringer of Desolation layers Weaken, Poison Sensitivity, and multiple Poison stacks across the team.

His most punishing mechanic appears in Exude Death, which increases all enemy cooldowns by 1 turn and adds Poisons equal to the number of skills on cooldown. After the attack, he cleanses himself fully and gains a Poison Cloud, making him nearly untouchable by standard damage types.

Maximoz’s kit punishes weak hits severely. If attacked with a weak hit, he reduces your buff durations further and gains Turn Meter. His passive suite ensures Poison enemies take double damage, and attacking him while Poisoned reduces ally cooldowns even more before triggering every Poison on the attacker.
Combined with the Grim Forest’s standard immunity package, he becomes a runaway engine of cascading cooldown locks and Poison bursts.

Leshun the Entangled One

Leshun

Leshun introduces Entangle, one of the most restrictive and dangerous mechanics Raid has created. Entangled Champions lose all buffs, are unable to gain new ones, and cannot passively increase their Turn Meter. Entangle has no duration and cannot be removed, increased, decreased, or spread — the only way to apply it is by pushing a target’s Turn Meter to 100%.

Most of Leshun’s skills revolve around exploiting Entangled enemies. He reduces their damage taken, strips their buffs before striking, rips away their Turn Meter, and cycles Entangle between targets based on their SPD. His Siphon debuff steals up to 50% of an enemy’s stats, escalating each time they take a turn.

His passives reinforce this brutal ecosystem: he damages all Entangled enemies at the start of his turn, applies additional Entangles when killing Entangled targets, fills his Turn Meter when True Fear activates, and gains defensive bonuses when free of HP Burn. He even converts incoming crits into weak hits with a high chance.

Leshun is a multi-layered encounter that transforms your team’s toolkit against you — a puzzle boss with lethal consequences.
