Orynyx Mindcrawler Overview

Orynyx Mindcrawler is a control specialist who excels at disrupting enemy skills through cooldown manipulation, buff stealing, and Block Active Skills, while his Instant Turn passive makes him a strong potential counter to cooldown focused teams in PvP.

Rising from the depths of the Dark Elves‘ lair comes Orynyx Mindcrawler, a Legendary Champion joining Raid: Shadow Legends as the Halloween Fusion of 2026. At his core, Orynyx specialises in controlling enemies and disrupting their skills, making him a potentially powerful option for PvP encounters.

His A3 can increase enemy skill cooldowns by 3 turns while filling the Turn Meters of all allies by 20%. His A2 attacks all enemies twice, with the first hit stealing buffs and the second placing Block Active Skills. Together, these abilities give him multiple ways to shut down opposing teams, whether that’s delaying their strongest skills, stripping away protection, or preventing them from using active abilities or switching forms.

His passive adds another layer to this control, preventing his own skills from having their cooldowns increased. The active effect also grants him an Instant Turn whenever an enemy attempts to increase the skill cooldowns of Orynyx or an ally. This creates valuable counterplay when you’re outsped, potentially allowing him to interrupt the enemy’s setup and respond with whichever control skill best suits the situation.

His A1 rounds out the kit by reducing a target’s Turn Meter by 10%, while also placing Sleep on enemies whose active skills have previously had their cooldowns increased by Orynyx. This provides additional control over priority targets, helping prevent them from taking turns after their skills have been locked out.

Overall, Orynyx is shaping up to be a strong PvP specialist, particularly against teams that rely on skill cooldown manipulation. He also has potential in wave based content and Faction Wars, alongside more specialised encounters such as the Eternal Dragon in Doom Tower and countering the Viper Form in Chimera.

Understanding Arena Roles

Champions normally form specific roles within an arena team. Our ratings define the roles that the champion fits and rates them on their ability to perform the roles. Below you can see a breakdown of all of our roles.

Cleanser

Champions with the Cleanser role will use their skills to remove debuffs and keep them from being re-applied.

Crowd Control

Champions with the Crowd Control role will use their skills to place soft (i.e. Provoke or Taunt) and hard (i.e Freeze or Stun) debuffs to disable enemy champions.

Damage

Champions with the Damage role will have skills that deal significant damage and are designed to defeat enemy champions.

Damage Absorption

Champions with the Damage Absorption role will have skills or effects that reduce the incoming damage your team takes. This can be through passive damage reduction or by applying skills such as Strengthen or Shields.

Healer

Champions with the Healer role will have skills that restore your champion's Health including Continuous Heals.

Debuffer

Champions with the Debuffer role will have skills that place debuffs that don't fall into Crowd Control or Skill Manipulator roles i.e. Decrease Defence. These champions may also have skills that remove Buffs.

Revive

Champions with the Revive role will have skills that bring your ally champions back from the dead including Revive on Death buffs.

Skill Manipulator

Champions with the Skill Manipulator role will have skills that increase enemy skill cooldowns or reduce your ally skill cooldowns.

Speed Manipulator

Champions with the Speed Manipulator role will have skills that affect the turn meter of your allies or enemies. This includes speed buffs and debuffs aswell as direct turn meter effects.
