Theimios the Everdrinker Lore: Official Story
The masked stranger Theimios, herald of the enigmatic being known as the Lord of Wine and Song and Prince of Depravity, has led a train of debauched, drunken revelers across the Argolades for as long as anyone can remember. Should Theimios fall – in battle, or by inebriated mishap – he appears again within weeks, quickly reassembling his coterie of wastrels and aesthetes. Most believe that his mysterious patron selects one of the previous Theimios’ followers to take up the mask and name.
Theimios is vain, capricious, exuberant, and shameless. He is as loud as a thunderstorm when he jokes and jeers, but can become surprisingly slippery and silent. His proclivities are symbolized by several artifacts he bears. His enchanted mirror shows an ideal, beautified version of whoever gazes at it – or a grotesque mockery, if Theimios desires. He wears the pelt of a wild beast, which he claims to have skinned alive in a fit of drunken rage.
Most famous of all is his enchanted amphora that flows perpetually with his mystic intoxicant called Everwine. Its effects are wondrous, both like and unlike any other alcohol a tippler has ever imbibed. Most drinkers lose all sense of time and self, remembering only fragments of their wild experiences.
Some of these blurry memories are of a sinister cast: mangling live animals with bare hands and devouring them raw, violent and indiscriminate carnal congress, and even ritual murder. For Theimios’ most devoted followers, such things are all part of the great revel.
