Robin Information
Robin grew up amongst the Hunters in Holdfast but, like most in the remote community, she was born elsewhere, in Thousand Lakes—a region routinely beset by orc raiders. Robin’s mother died, burned alive in their once-happy home during such a raid. The Order’s warriors arrived too late to prevent hers and many other deaths, so Robin nurses an intense animosity toward the Church in general. She and her father, who became Holdfast’s huntmaster, left to escape painful memories.
Robin became a crackshot with her bow, often beating Void Hunters in contests. Her father tried to discourage her from adopting some of the Hunters’ more colorful figures of speech, but she still became known for her mouth as much as her aim. Spending time with the irreverent Hunters made her lighthearted and quick with a joke, but since Holdfast was sacked and her father killed—dying in flames just like her mother—she often broods, rage smoldering just below the surface.
Her ability to manipulate fire and use it in battle is the manifestation of her own inner, burning rage, represented as the same flames that have twice scorched her happiness to cinders. Combining this new gift with her marksmanship, she has learned to infuse her arrows with sorcerous fire, but she wonders if this might be only a fraction of what she is truly capable of. For the girl who always slipped on the Hunters’ leathers, these abilities and the opportunity to take part in those adventures is a heady brew—even her recent tragedies cannot totally dampen the thrill she feels as she embarks upon this new journey.
