YUKIMASA, DEMON OF ICE – FUSION PREVIEW

The final Fusion of the year arrives on December 15th, bringing Yukimasa, Demon of Ice, a versatile Legendary ATK champion from the Shadowkin. His kit blends control, burst damage, and revival in a way that makes him instantly relevant for Arena-focused players. Whether you need a heavy hitter, a CC amplifier, or an emergency reviver, Yukimasa is built to adapt to whatever your team composition requires. He performs exceptionally well alongside champions who already apply crowd control, allowing him to focus entirely on offensive stats while benefiting from their debuffs.

Overview & Skill Design

Winnowing Winter (A1)

Yukimasa opens with an AoE attack that can apply Block Active Skills and gains additional functionality whenever enemies are already affected by control debuffs like Freeze, Stun, Fear, Provoke, Sleep, or Petrification. In encounters involving Mythical champions, this ability becomes especially valuable because it prevents them from switching forms. When triggered under the right conditions, the skill becomes instantly available again, giving him rapid follow-up pressure.

Blizzard of Strikes (A2)

His A2 delivers an AoE hit that ignores Block Damage and has a high chance to Freeze targets if any enemy is already under control effects. The skill also carries a unique revive mechanic: if it fails to kill an enemy, Yukimasa revives one ally with significant HP and Turn Meter; if it does secure a kill, he instead revives the entire team. This dual-purpose nature allows him to swing a fight back into your favour even when you’re on the defensive, all while dealing dangerous damage.

Stain the Snows (A3)

This is Yukimasa’s signature move and the main reason he threatens even the bulkiest Arena defences. Before attacking, he strips Turn Meter from the target and cannot be resisted if the required debuffs are present. He then equalises the target’s DEF with his own, effectively neutralising champions built with extremely high defences. The more Turn Meter he steals, the harder the hit lands, giving him the potential to outright remove heavily fortified tanks in one blow.

Solitary Demon (Passive)

His passive ties the entire kit together by punishing enemies who try to control him. Whenever Yukimasa skips a turn because of a CC debuff, he immediately gains Turn Meter and causes his next attack to ignore half of the target’s DEF. Against teams that rely on Stun or Freeze to lock out attackers, this passive turns their strategy into a liability and sets up devastating counterattacks from Yukimasa himself.

Arena Aura

A 33% ATK aura further reinforces his role as an Arena-focused champion, making him a natural addition to offensive teams.

Should You Go for the Fusion?

For players interested in improving their Arena performance, Yukimasa offers an unusually rich combination of offensive pressure, defensive insurance, and anti-meta utility. He addresses key problems in the current Arena landscape: unkillable tank cores, control-heavy teams, and Mythical champions that rely on form switching. Even accounts that primarily play PvE can find value in his flexible kit, though the full strength of Yukimasa is most noticeable in competitive PvP.

Overall, this is one of the more compelling Fusions released recently, particularly for players who want a champion capable of punishing high-end defensive setups or amplifying CC strategies. If your roster is missing a reliable nuker who can double as a control support and reviver, Yukimasa is well worth the investment.

Looks good. I skipped the last one, as do not need a Gnishack replacement, so have been saving shards, and collecting brews and silver. Also did not fall victim to the Yuletide summon boosts, and champion training event is only to get things lined up to upgrade 10 or so of my Level 5’s to 6. Going to be a bloody cold New Year! Yippie Ki Ay! and a very Merry Christmas!
