What Resistance Does in Raid

How Accuracy vs Resistance Works
Resisting a debuff or negative effect in RAID basically means that you entirely avoid that penalty: e.g. if you resist a Decrease DEF debuff, you do not receive that debuff.
To place any debuff or negative effect in RAID you need to pass an ACC vs RES check. The debuffer’s ACC stat will be compared to the defender’s RES stat:
- If these stats are equal, the attacker has about a 90% chance to succeed and a 10% chance to be resisted.
- If ACC is 30 points greater than RES, the attacker has about a 97% success chance.
- If RES is 100 points higher than ACC, the defender has about a 90% chance to resist.
- If RES is 150 points higher than ACC, the defender has about a 97% chance to resist.
These are some key example points on a scale; every along the way can make a difference, and even a 50% chance to resist can have a big impact on battles.
Also note that unless an ability specifically states that it “cannot be resisted”, there is always a 3% chance for a resist to occur regardless of how much more ACC you have; likewise, there is always a 3% chance to succeed to place a debuff regardless of how much RES the opponent has.
How does the Increase RES buff work?
There are two versions of this buff: a 25% and a 50% boost. These will increase your RES stat by the stated amount.
This is a very valuable buff because it is hard to build high RES. As you might have noticed above, when ACC and RES are equal, ACC wins 90% of the time; RES needs to be stacked very high to be useful.
The Increase RES buff will make it significantly easier (or perhaps is needed to make it possible at all) to hit RES thresholds for boss fights. This is especially true for damage dealers or debuffers who have high stat requirements in other stats and will struggle to invest in RES.
Why Increase Resistance Champions Are Valuable

Where is Increase RES useful?
Building RES is crucial to many areas of the game.
Many bosses have extremely dangerous debuffs or effects that are best handled by building enough RES, such as the Chimera Viper Form’s ability to Steal buffs.
In PvP, high RES champions are a useful counter to champions who place Bomb debuffs or Increase Skill Cooldowns.
What Champions is RES good on?
Certain types of champions are particularly valuable with high RES:
- Champions who can remove debuffs (so they can resist crowd control debuffs and then remove them from others).
- Champions who can revive (so they can stay alive against debuff heavy enemies and revive your team).
- Champions who can reduce skill cooldowns (so they can resist cooldown increases and then reset cooldowns for others).

Signy of Highshield

Galapo the Recluse

Diamant Coppercoin

This is where we see a massive leap in champion quality. Diamant brings Inrease RES on a short cooldown and crucially pairs it with the ability to Extend all buffs on his A2. This gives 100% uptime on Increase RES just by himself! He also has good utility and a very unique passive which can turn negative debuffs into positive buffs; very useful for getting Increase ATK for a damage dealer for example.
Oella

Graazur Irongut

Pheidi Tealcrest

Pheidi lacks the Increase RES uptime that others on this list bring, but he makes up for it in spades by reducing skill cooldowns for your team by 3 turns on his A3. This opens up tons of teambuilding options across all areas of the game! He also has particularly good utility on his A2, removing enemy buffs and placing Block Buffs and Decrease SPD. Pheidi’s best area is Hydra teams, where his debuffs shine and he has 5 teammates to reset skills for.
Firrol the Barkhorn

Firrol is an MVP of Increase RES, pairing it with Decrease ACC on his A2 to give you incredible anti-debuffing properties against most enemies in the game. His big highlight though is his passive which gives a bonus 50 ACC and RES (making hitting those stat thresholds even easier) and a whopping 20% damage boost as well. This damage boost stacks with everything else in the game, and has made Firrol a common pick in many of the best boss killing teams in the game.
Mavara the Web Diviner

Mavara was the Anniversary Fusion of 2026 and she lived up to the hype! She brings Increase RES on her A2, and when paired with a champion who can extend buffs she is an easy pick for both Hydra and Chimera. She also brings a revive, tons of healing, Strengthen and Perfect Veil; for PvP her aura and passive turn meter boosting are amazing; and she is one of the few champions in the game who brings the Fervor buff. Her unique A1 passive turns Fervor buffs into a 50% chance to Ally Attack, giving a massive damage boost to your teams!
Joan the Luminant

Joan is often better regarded for her damage-dealing Alternate Form, but her Base Form is an amazing Increase RES champion. She provides 3 turns of Increase RES on a 3-turn cooldown, giving 100% uptime. She also removes debuffs, heals, revives, and provides turn meter and Increase ATK for offensive benefits. Finally, her passive provides a whopping 15% damage boost to allies who have more RES than enemies!
Androc the Glorious

Androc is the best Increase RES champion in the game, giving your team tons of buffs, 100% uptime on Increase RES, tons of healing and survivability. On top of this, he has an amazing passive which provides insane amounts of RES for teams with many buffs: you can often resist even the hardest bosses with Androc on the team even if you’ve built no RES on your champions at all. Finally, he also turns every crit on your team into turn meter boosting, dramatically increasing the number of turns you can take. He’s an MVP for all bosses, and particularly shines when paired with Senna for even more turn meter boosting synergy!
Best Areas to Use High Resistance Champions

Clan Bosses
Increase RES is very useful against the Hydra and Chimera Clan Bosses. These bosses regularly rotate through Heads or Forms which make maintaining Decrease ACC very difficult. They also have some very nasty debuffs and negative effects, such as Stealing Buffs. Increase RES is the safest way to protect your team from these effects and can drastically increase the survivability of your team.
Just make sure that everyone on your team will have enough RES!
How to Build Increase Resistance Champions

Speed Requirements
SPD is the most important stat, enabling you to quickly cycle through your cooldowns to maintain Increase RES.
Dropping Increase RES at any time can end your run immediately if crucial negative debuffs or effects slip through the gap.
RES Requirements
Ironically, RES requirements for champions with Increase RES aren’t too bad! This is because you will reliably have 50% Increase RES all the time, effectively lowering RES requirements by 33%.
You should definitely build these champions with enough RES to hit 97% chance to resist when they have the Increase RES buff. If you have stats to spare, you can go even safer and build them with enough RES to hit that chance even without the buff–but this is only really needed in PvP or in wave content where you might get to a new wave without cooldowns available.
Recommended Artifact Sets
Any sets which increase HP%, SPD, or RES are top-tier picks.
High impact sets include Relentless or Reflex, which let you use abilities more often, or sets like Regeneration or Mercurial which can help you stay alive.
