Firrol the Barkhorn is a top-tier Sylvan Watchers support for Hydra and high-end PvE, bringing AoE Decrease Accuracy and Block Buffs, strong resistance-based protection, and a passive that scales team power as buffs stack.

Over the festive season in the Sylvan residence, it’s been rumoured that one of the tree’s would be brought to life by the spirit of the north…. and lets just say the rumours were true. Standing before us is Firrol The Barkhorn, a Legendary Defence champion that has a set of skills that others would wish for!

If you’re seeking a champion with incredible Hydra utility, whilst holding universal value to tackle some of raids toughest encounters, then Firrol is your tree. Opening with the Boreal Growth [A2], he attacks all enemies, then places a 50% Decrease Accuracy & Block Buffs, whilst ignoring 20% Resistance. The synergy of this skill is perfect for the Hydra, utilising crucial buffs which not only alleviates the resistance you need, but stops the heads from placing tedious buffs.

This ability also coincides with an A3 that places a 50% Increase RES on all allies, followed by a Perfect veil to mitigate incoming AOE damage, whilst countering the mechanics of the Head Of Torment. Once we start blending the value of all these skills together, he truly covers many fundamentals that only may be achieved by using multiple champions.

Outside of his active skills, the passive really adds some top tier value to his kit. It’s potential all comes down to the amount of buffs your allies are under, such as 50 Resistance for 2 buffs, 50 Accuracy for 3, and 20% more damage whilst under 4. The synergy here is great for the overall outcome of a battle, and can really add a layer of consistency to teams that were lacking these bonuses prior. last but not least, his A1 has a 100% chance of placing a 30% Decrease Speed, which is perfect for bosses such as the Iron Twins Fortress to disable the Turn Meter fills.

Arena Roles

Understanding Arena Roles

Champions normally form specific roles within an arena team. Our ratings define the roles that the champion fits and rates them on their ability to perform the roles. Below you can see a breakdown of all of our roles.

Cleanser

Champions with the Cleanser role will use their skills to remove debuffs and keep them from being re-applied.

Crowd Control

Champions with the Crowd Control role will use their skills to place soft (i.e. Provoke or Taunt) and hard (i.e Freeze or Stun) debuffs to disable enemy champions.

Damage

Champions with the Damage role will have skills that deal significant damage and are designed to defeat enemy champions.

Damage Absorption

Champions with the Damage Absorption role will have skills or effects that reduce the incoming damage your team takes. This can be through passive damage reduction or by applying skills such as Strengthen or Shields.

Healer

Champions with the Healer role will have skills that restore your champion's Health including Continuous Heals.

Debuffer

Champions with the Debuffer role will have skills that place debuffs that don't fall into Crowd Control or Skill Manipulator roles i.e. Decrease Defence. These champions may also have skills that remove Buffs.

Revive

Champions with the Revive role will have skills that bring your ally champions back from the dead including Revive on Death buffs.

Skill Manipulator

Champions with the Skill Manipulator role will have skills that increase enemy skill cooldowns or reduce your ally skill cooldowns.

Speed Manipulator
