EZIO’S SKILLS EXPLAINED

Ezio_Auditore_skills

Ezio is a hybrid damage dealer, bringing powerful direct damage alongside nasty debuffs. He starts every fight under Perfect Veil, and none of his debuffs or effects can be resisted when he’s hidden–very “assassino”!

A1 – EAGLE DIVE

Ezio’s A1 is a solid single target attack with a 100% chance to place Decrease DEF. He has a 35% chance to counterattack with this ability whenever he’s attacked, thanks to his passive. It’s not the highlight of his kit, but it’s very good, providing great uptime on this key debuff for boss fights or tanky PvP enemies.

A2 – DA VINCI’S DESIGN

This is the move that makes Ezio the most famous Assassin of all time.

It’s a solid AoE attack on a 3-turn cooldown which is good by itself, but it also brings two different debuff types depending on your enemy.

A2 – DA VINCI’S DESIGN (BOMBS)

For enemies with Stoneskin buffs, Ezio will place 2 Bomb debuffs on them. Bombs do 4x damage to targets with Stoneskin, likely killing them outright if it explodes while they still have the buff. Ezio has extremely high damage multipliers on his Bombs as well, placing him solidly ahead of other Bomb champions in PvP.

If all enemies have Stoneskin, the Bomb detonation timer is reduced from 2 turns to 1. This is massive, since it ensures they will explode before enemies can use Remove Debuffs to stop them, and will deliver the 4x bonus damage even to enemies under only 1 turn of Stoneskin buffs. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely to find teams where everyone is under Stoneskin, so you can’t plan for this to happen in most circumstances–it’s just a bonus.

A2 – DA VINCI’S DESIGN (POISONS)

The second effect is against enemies without Stoneskin, where Ezio will place a Poison Sensitivity debuff and two Poison debuffs. If they have 4 debuffs on them (inc. these three), he will instantly trigger the full damage of all Poison debuffs on them. This effect is incredibly powerful and it’s easy to trigger since you only need one other debuff on them.

Each turn of Poison does 5% MAX HP damage, so Ezio alone can do 25% MAX HP damage (5% x 2 debuffs x 2 turns x 25% sensitivity) instantly, by himself. The Lethal Dose Blessing (you’ll get a 5* soul for him for free) can boost this in PvP by an additional 200%, dealing 75% MAX HP damage instantly–and this can be further boosted by the Arachnelixir Relic.

Note that most bosses in the game have a hidden passive which gives them 90% damage reduction from Poison. Why is it hidden? Templars, probably… or just questionable game design!

In short though, this Poison explosion effect is massively powerful, particularly for PvP or for waves in dungeons etc. The fact that it’s all unresistable while Ezio is under Perfect Veil makes him even more of a menace, since enemie cannot rely on RES to counter him.

A3 – HIDDEN GUN

This is Ezio’s strongest single-target direct damage attack thanks to the whopping 35% Ignore DEF. This stacks very well with gear, masteries, relics, etc. that also give Ignore DEF.

It also steals all buffs from your target, which is mostly useful in PvP.

P1 – EVERYTHING IS PERMITTED

Ezio’s first passive provides a mild “execute” mechanic that works with other Assassins. It’s only OK, helping him finish off enemies in PvP. Running him with a second Assassin (e.g. Bayek or Edward) is a nice way to boost this a bit without crippling your team comp; the Assassins aren’t particularly good as a full team.

It’s not very strong in PvE, where the low damage doesn’t make much of a dent in the massive health pools of bosses etc.

P2 – FULL SYNCHRONIZATION

Ezio has several parts to his second passive.

The free Perfect Veil is incredible since it makes all of his abilities unresistable–particularly crazy for PvP with his A2!

The damage reduction passive will sometimes save his life, but is very unreliable.

His counterattack chance is useful everywhere, particularly for PvE boss fights where he can become a pretty reliable source of Decrease DEF for your team.

AURA – 19% SPD IN ALL BATTLES

A premium aura for non-void legendaries. Very useful everywhere! For PvP, it’s great for Siege, but try to get a better SPD aura for Arena fights if possible.

THE BEST AREAS FOR EZIO

PVP: ARENA AND SIEGE

Ezio is a menace in PvP, and is capable of wiping out an entire team with his A2 alone.

To make the most of him, pair him up with a champion who can provide Increase ATK buffs to enhance his damage, such as Arbiter. A champion who can Increase Skill Cooldowns, such as Fabian, is another great pairing, since this will prevent enemies from removing his debuffs or reviving dead allies.

PVE WAVES: DUNGEONS, DOOM TOWER, FACTION WARS, ETC.

Ezio is also incredible for blasting through wave content in PvE, thanks to his massive A2 damage. You can run him with other Poison champions as well, since he can instantly trigger all their Poison debuffs too!

His usefulness against bosses is more mixed, since many have a hidden passive which drastically reduces Poison damage–he’ll still be good, he just won’t wipe them out instantly. The Dragon dungeon is a notable exception where Poisons are fantastic. Normal difficulty Ice Golem is also very weak to Poison, and Poison damage will actually bypass his passive retaliation attack triggers.

HOW TO BUILD EZIO

There are several possible builds for Ezio:

  1. A typical damage dealer build
  2. A bomb/arachnelixir build
  3. A dungeon solo build
  4. And even more!

For most players, we recommend a typical damage dealer build, as outlined below. This build excels in the most areas and is the least dependent on very specific pieces of gear!

Best Stats

The key stats to look for on Ezio are:

  1. ATK%
  2. 100% C.RATE
  3. SPD
  4. C.DMG%
  5. ACC

ATK% is better for Ezio than typical ATK damage dealers since his Bombs and Assassin passive both scale off ATK alone. If you have the Arachnelixir relic, it also scales off ATK!

C.RATE should be built to 100% for the best damage. If going for a pure Bomb/Arachnelixir build, or solo build, you can skip this to build more ATK and SPD instead!

SPD is essential. You can either aim for extremely high SPD, if focused on using Bombs in PvP, or medium SPD, like you would build a typical ATK damage dealer.

C.DMG% will amplify Ezio’s direct damage. Due to his high Bomb multiplier, it’s easy to grab C.DMG% on your amulet or gloves compared to other Bomb champions who need more ATK% and ACC than he does. If going for a pure Bomb/Arachnelixir build, or solo build, you can skip this to build more ATK and SPD instead.

ACC is optional, since Ezio cannot be resisted if he has Perfect Veil. You will need to build ACC for longer fights if you don’t have a good Perfect Veil champion to run with him, or if you’re worried about his Perfect Veil getting removed by enemies.

Best Gear Sets

The best sets for Ezio are:

  1. Stoneskin
  2. Lethal
  3. Savage
  4. Pinpoint
  5. Merciless

As a PvP menace, Stoneskin is Ezio’s best set. He’s a glass cannon, so running 4 pieces to ensure he survives to use his A2 is highly recommended.

Lethal/Savage are a great accompanying set, which will drastically increase his direct damage.

Pinpoint is another PvP focused set, which is used (in tandom with Stoneskin) to protect Ezio from Polymorph blessings when using his A2.

Merciless is his best PvE focused set, giving maximum damage and cooldown reduction.

BEST BLESSINGS AND RELICS FOR EZIO

As a damage dealer, it is important to pick the best Blessings and Relics for Ezio. Everyone should be getting a 5* soul for him for free as well, which massively boosts his damage potential.

Best Blessings

Check out our Blessings Tier List for full details on all Blessings!

There are a few viable Blessings:

  1. Lethal Dose (Epic): Ezio’s best pick for PvP (and our recommended choice for 90%+ of players), this triples his Poison damage, turning his A2 into a crazy nuke and amplifying Arachnelixir. It does not work in PvE though.
  2. Brimstone (Legendary): The best option for new players. This gives tons of free damage against bosses, and will massively boost your progression. You only need one champion per team with it though, so it’s eventually better to give it to a non-damage dealer (once you have a good one with a soul) and give Ezio something that scales off his personal damage instead.
  3. Nature’s Wrath (Epic): The best PvE option below 6-stars, if you don’t need Brimstone. Ezio applies a lot of debuffs, so will max out the damage bonus almost instantly.
  4. Crushing Rend (Epic): The best PvE option but only at 6-stars. It’s a massive damage boost against any high level enemy (i.e. PvE content). Below 6-stars it only applies to the first hit or two, so you shouldn’t pick it for him.

Best Relics

Check out our Relics Tier List for full details on all Relics!

There are several great options for Relics:

  1. Arachnelixir (Rare Faction Wars Relic): Ezio’s best relic. This drastically boosts his Poison damage against waves. In PvP it is further boosted by Lethal Dose (to a crazy level). The only downside here is bosses, where Poison damage is capped.
  2. Irethi Coronet (Epic Chimera Relic): A great budget relic. Ezio applies a lot of debuffs, so will max out the damage bonus almost instantly.
  3. Sporeburst Rod (Legendary Event Relic): A nice boost in both PvE and PvP to his damage, though he doesn’t really need the ACC and it’s outclassed by Arachnelixir. Good for bosses if you don’t overcap the debuff bar.
  4. Lens of Intangibility (Mythical Grim Forest Relic): The best boost to his raw damage if you can provide him with Perfect Veil.
  5. The Cat’s Gaze (Legendary Event Relic): A massive damage boost in all content, with strong offensive gem sockets.
  6. Wand of Submission (Legendary Standard Relic): This is always a good option for PvP, protecting Ezio from Polymorph. A great option if using him solely for his Bombs.
  7. Steel-Eyed Cutter (Rare Grim Forest Relic): The new budget damage-dealer relic from Grim Forest is a good starter option.
