Fragment Guide: Pythion
Legends tell of Duchess Lilitu being the most dominant arena champion for the past few years but in 2023 a new challenger approaches. Pythion joins the Lizardmen as the January 2023 Fragment Fusion Event. It is not an exaggeration to call Pythion the best EVER fusion champion released since fusions started back in 2019. Pythion will be universally useful for any account and is a must pickup.
Protecting and carrying your team is what Pythion is all about. His a3 brings a Full Team revive with 50% HP and Turn Meter when dead allies are revived and a 25% Strengthen buff is placed on all allies. This ability won’t take place until an ally has died making this viable on Arena Defence at even the highest stages of arena. The A2 is a 3 turn, AoE full debuff cleanse followed by a 10% max hp heal which is increased by 5% for each debuff removed. This then places a Block Debuffs buff on all allies for 2 turns. Incredibly powerful to carry your team if you are facing debuffs or to deal with affinity issues in clan boss. The A1 is a double hit which should help you deal with Fire Knight challenges and it also brings a 10% heal to the ally with the lowest HP.
What makes Pythion exceptionally good, is that his passive reduces incoming damage your team takes by 5% for each buff on them which stacks up to 25%. This is effectively the same passive as Duchess (although that is 25% for AoE abilities). This is a significant damage reduction passive that will be incredibly valuable to any team.
Pythion will be essential for all accounts and as a fragment collector should be achievable for most mid-game+ accounts.

Is Pythion worth going for?
We would always recommend going for each and every Fusion if you’re able to – But this time we’re actively going to tell you to GET THIS FUSION if you are capable of doing so, Pythion is arguably the best fusion we’ve ever had, and that’s saying something with the likes of Helicath and Brogni being in that list. This Champion is game-changing for nearly every account!
As this is a Fragment Fusion, there are 115 available fragments WITHOUT winning any tournaments, so pick and choose what events suit you best as you can skip up to 15 fragments and still achieve the fusion!
Adjoining Events
Alongside the Fusion, we will always get 2 Summon Events, one for Summon Rush, and one for Champion Chase Tournament.
- Friday 13th January – 2x Ancient Shard Event – Champion Chase Tournament
- Friday 20th January – Expected 10x Event – Summon Rush Event
Plarium also activates Super Raids for Fusion Events now, to cut the time that we spend in the Dungeon Tournaments, these will be as follows:

Day 1
New Events:
Champion Training Event – 5350/8000 Points – 15 Fragments
Ice Golem Tournament – 2250 Points – 5 Fragments
Kicking off the Fusion in great spirits, we have a lower-than-usual point requirement Training Event!
8000 Points is lower than usual, and we do have 4 days to complete this, Hellhades has a video to help you efficiently gain points for this type of event check it out below!
As for the Ice Golem Tournament, 2250 Points will require around 140 runs of stage 20 based on the worst possible drops, of all 5* rare gear, of course, this figure can be significantly lower based on your drop rates. This will take ~2250 energy.
We do, however, strongly recommend waiting till tomorrow for this Tournament, as it will line up with the Dungeon Divers Event.
Day 2
New Events:
Champion Chase Tournament – 1150/2500 Points – 15 Fragments
Dungeon Divers Event – 3350 Points – 5 Fragments
It’s time to open your shard! This Champion Chase tournament nicely links up with a 2x Ancient Shard, meaning if you’ve saved up some shards, this will be nice and easy to complete with 2500 points! Good luck on the pulls!
As for Dungeon Divers, if you refer back to yesterday’s events, you can get stuck into the Ice Golem or Campaign now whilst earning points for both events simultaneously, so it’s time to burn that energy!
Day 3
New Events:
Artifact Enhancement Event – 4775 Points – 5 Fragments
Classic Arena Takedown – 5 Fragments – 390 Points
Arena Tournaments are always quite passive ones, you should be ensuring to use all of your daily battles which should allow you to receive the points for this rare fairly easily, of course, if you’re struggling in the Arena this may prove to be a bit of a challenge, but make sure you are persistent in refreshing your fight page every 15min and taking on fights you know you can win – don’t take unnecessary risks.
As for the Artifact Enhancement, to get this event’s Fragments, you’ll require 4775 points in the artifact enhancement event – there are some great methods for doing this easily, to save as much silver as possible.
1. If you pre-rolled your gear to level 7/11/15 before the event, you can go ahead and burn through your silver taking these up by 1 level each to gain quick easy points.
2. The other really good option for these events is doing a good old gear clear-out, rolling things that you might want to keep up to see how the stats play out, selling things that you won’t want to keep, a great guide for this is here.
Day 4
New Events:
Fire Knight Tournament – 2250 Points – 5 Fragments
for the Fire Knight Tournament, much like other Dungeon Tournaments in this fusion, you’ll be required to get 2250 Points, 2250 points will take around 140 runs of level 20+ based on the worst possible drop rates of only 5* Rare gear.
Day 7:
New Events:
Champion Training Tournament – 2900/4700 Points – 10 Fragments
Dungeon Divers Event – 3350 Points – 5 Fragments
Dungeon Divers lines up nicely with Clan vs Clan, as well as Champion Training and Fire Knight, so whether it be farming Champions, or farming artifacts – you’ll be able to double-dip your rewards with this event!
As for the Champion Training, refer to our post above which will really help you min-max your points when levelling your Champions to secure this set of 10 Fragments for Pythion!
Day 8:
New Events:
Spider Tournament – 2250 Points – 5 Fragments
Artifact Enhancement Event – 4775 Points – 5 Fragments
To get this event’s Fragments, you’ll require 4775 points in the artifact enhancement event – there are some great methods for doing this easily, to save as much silver as possible.
As for the Spider Tournament, much like other Dungeon Tournaments in this fusion, you’ll be required to get 2250 Points, 2250 points will take around 140 runs of level 20+ based on the worst possible drop rates of only 5* Rare gear.
Day 9:
New Events:
Summon Rush – 2150/4925 Points – 20 Fragments
This is the harshest Summon Rush we’ve ever seen in a recent Fusion, we usually anticipate around 3500 Points for the final Fragment Milestone, but this is completely insane, of course it’s an incredible fusion and if you are able to reach these point requirements you 100% should do so, but remember that you can miss 15 Fragments total, so you may be able to skip the 2nd set.
Day 10:
New Events:
Classic Arena Takedown – 5 Fragments – 390 Points
Arena Tournaments are always quite passive ones, you should be ensuring to use all of your daily battles which should allow you to receive the points for this rare fairly easily, of course, if you’re struggling in the Arena this may prove to be a bit of a challenge, but make sure you are persistent in refreshing your fight page every 15min and taking on fights you know you can win – don’t take unnecessary risks.
