Major Zenless Zone Zero Update

Zenless Zone Zero Season Two, also called Version 2.0, officially dropped on Friday, June 6, 2025. This is the first major patch for ZZZ, and it also lines up with the game’s first anniversary. HoYoverse didn’t take this lightly: the update comes packed with free rewards and tons of new content! Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming patch.

Season Two marks the start of a brand-new story Arc. After managing to resolve the Sacrifice Serum crisis alongside Mockingbird, the Phaethon siblings begin to uncover more about their powers and their former teacher. It’s finally time to head to a new location.

Our goal: learn to control this new power and understand its origin. And for that, we’ll need help from  Yixuan!

Yixuan is the leader of Yunkui Summit, and the Thirteenth-Generation High Preceptor. Her power level? Comparable to the Void Hunters. It’s time to explore the Waifei Peninsula and uncover the next chapter!

Of course, a new patch means new agents! On top of Yixuan, you’ll also be able to obtain Pan Yinhu and Ju Fufu, two of her disciples. While they haven’t been fully revealed yet, several new Obol Squad members are also expected to arrive during this patch.

The biggest gameplay addition in Season 2 is the introduction of a new Specialty and Element: Rupture and Auric Ink.

• Auric Ink is a sub-element of Ether. It functions similarly but builds up its own Anomaly, allowing you to trigger Disorder between Auric Ink and Ether.
• Rupture agents are designed to be both offensive and defensive. They specialize in dealing Sheer DMG, which bypasses enemy defenses.
• Rupture agents also convert 30% of their ATK into Sheer Force, further boosting their Sheer DMG potential.

To support free-to-play players, HoYoverse is adding several Rupture W-Engines to the Gadget Store, available for free acquisition.
