Primus Atalact Lore: Official Story
Atalact was an officer among Dragon Emperor Undrakar’s household troops and bodyguards who personally trained the elite warriors who served under him. He was admired by all, renowned as dutiful, obedient, resilient, mighty, and inspiring.
The Primus had longed to join the mysterious Dragonkin campaign in the Stormwind Wastes, but was ever dutiful when Undrakar bade him stay in Twinrift. Little did Atalact know that this campaign would later become the empire’s greatest failing.
As Demonspawn armies swept across the Lost Isles, Atalact watched over the Dragon Emperor night and day, killing numerous assassins sent to slay him. When Demonspawn poured into Twinrift, Emperor Undrakar and Hierophant Lazarius withdrew to perform a desperate, last-ditch magical gambit. Undrakar bade Atalact to fight to the last to buy them time.
The guardians closed ranks, Atalact and his fellow officers at the vanguard, and together repelled wave after wave of Demonspawn. Atalact’s warcries and commands echoed across the battlefield, maintaining order and discipline despite impossible odds. Not one Dragonkin wavered, and each died valiantly.
No one knows if he was slain by Demonspawn, or perished during the sinking of Twinrift, but he was never seen again. His wargear likely rests at the bottom of the Void Reef to this day, along with that of thousands of loyal Dragonkin.
