Arashi the Riptide Overview

Rising from the shadows of the Shadowkin empire, this Nautical Assassin rules the seas surrounding the Kingdom of Yakai. Moving unseen, he strikes down intruders with concealed blades, channelling the sacred power of the ocean into their souls. Arashi the Riptide is an HP based Legendary champion from the Shadowkin faction.

Arashi is a specialist damage dealer for content where multiple enemies can be killed, such as Arena, Siege and The Cursed City, though he’s a strong option for various areas of the game. His strength lies in his A3, which increases his HP by 5% [up to 30%] each time he kills a target, boosting both his survivability and damage output. This skill also grants him Perfect Veil and a 30% Increase Crit Damage buff before launching an AOE attack that hits each target individually, ignoring 15% defence and an additional 5% for each subsequent target. This makes him highly effective against enemies with passives that reduce AOE damage, such as Duchess Lilitu or the Hydra.

His A2 is a single target attack that ignores Shield and Strengthen buffs, and even bypasses Stone Skin if Arashi is under Perfect Veil. Since he starts each round with Perfect Veil through his passive, this allows you to open with his A2 in Arena to take down a Stone Skin target without relying on the A3 first. If he kills the target, his buff extension keeps the Perfect Veil active for longer. Additionally, his passive gives him a chance to reflect all damage and debuffs back to the attacker. If the reflection kills the target, it boosts his Turn Meter and re-applies Perfect Veil, making him a dangerous counter for anyone brave enough to attack him!

Understanding Arena Roles

Champions normally form specific roles within an arena team. Our ratings define the roles that the champion fits and rates them on their ability to perform the roles. Below you can see a breakdown of all of our roles.

Cleanser

Champions with the Cleanser role will use their skills to remove debuffs and keep them from being re-applied.

Crowd Control

Champions with the Crowd Control role will use their skills to place soft (i.e. Provoke or Taunt) and hard (i.e Freeze or Stun) debuffs to disable enemy champions.

Damage

Champions with the Damage role will have skills that deal significant damage and are designed to defeat enemy champions.

Damage Absorption

Champions with the Damage Absorption role will have skills or effects that reduce the incoming damage your team takes. This can be through passive damage reduction or by applying skills such as Strengthen or Shields.

Healer

Champions with the Healer role will have skills that restore your champion's Health including Continuous Heals.

Debuffer

Champions with the Debuffer role will have skills that place debuffs that don't fall into Crowd Control or Skill Manipulator roles i.e. Decrease Defence. These champions may also have skills that remove Buffs.

Revive

Champions with the Revive role will have skills that bring your ally champions back from the dead including Revive on Death buffs.

Skill Manipulator

Champions with the Skill Manipulator role will have skills that increase enemy skill cooldowns or reduce your ally skill cooldowns.

Speed Manipulator

Champions with the Speed Manipulator role will have skills that affect the turn meter of your allies or enemies. This includes speed buffs and debuffs aswell as direct turn meter effects.
