Osgrun The Defiler Overview

Bound to his back, the ancient stone pulsates with the sacred magicks of Ireth – a force powerful enough to shatter enemy defenses and leave them stunned for eternity. Osgrun the Defiler has harnessed fragments of this magic within his Obsidian Blade, and when he raises it to the skies, it’s not just a show of power – it’s a signal for his allies to strike as one.

This Dwarven warrior is a powerful support addition to the faction, bringing a strong mix of offensive utility and crowd control. His control comes from the A2, which removes all buffs from enemies, reduces their Turn Meters, and applies a Stun debuff to those pushed to 50%. It’s an excellent way to strip away enemy protections, give your team some momentum, and deliver reliable control across a range of content – from Faction Wars and Doom Tower to Arena and general wave based encounters.

This ability also works well with his passive, which causes allies to deal 20% more damage to enemies under a Stun, and automatically triggers the skill when an ally is killed. This gives your team a better chance to take down threats faster, while immediately controlling enemies to buy time for a revive.

His utility doesn’t stop there – Osgrun’s A3 is a full team ally attack skill that places a 7.5% Shatter and Increase Attack buff on all allies before the attack. If the target is killed, it also reduces the cooldown of all ally active skills by 1 turn. Shatter increases a champion’s Ignore DEF by the percentage shown, and when paired with the Increase Attack buff, it gives your team a stronger chance to take down targets. This ability can also be helpful against bosses like the Fire Knight to chip away at shield counters and push more damage through.

Lastly, his A1 increases the cooldown of a random skill on the target by 2 turns and fills ally Turn Meters by 10%. It’s a simple but effective way to add extra control while helping your team cycling through their turns faster. On top of that, he brings a strong Arena speed aura, making him a great fit for a variety of team setups.

Arena Roles

Understanding Arena Roles

Champions normally form specific roles within an arena team. Our ratings define the roles that the champion fits and rates them on their ability to perform the roles. Below you can see a breakdown of all of our roles.

Cleanser

Champions with the Cleanser role will use their skills to remove debuffs and keep them from being re-applied.

Crowd Control

Champions with the Crowd Control role will use their skills to place soft (i.e. Provoke or Taunt) and hard (i.e Freeze or Stun) debuffs to disable enemy champions.

Damage

Champions with the Damage role will have skills that deal significant damage and are designed to defeat enemy champions.

Damage Absorption

Champions with the Damage Absorption role will have skills or effects that reduce the incoming damage your team takes. This can be through passive damage reduction or by applying skills such as Strengthen or Shields.

Healer

Champions with the Healer role will have skills that restore your champion's Health including Continuous Heals.

Debuffer

Champions with the Debuffer role will have skills that place debuffs that don't fall into Crowd Control or Skill Manipulator roles i.e. Decrease Defence. These champions may also have skills that remove Buffs.

Revive

Champions with the Revive role will have skills that bring your ally champions back from the dead including Revive on Death buffs.

Skill Manipulator

Champions with the Skill Manipulator role will have skills that increase enemy skill cooldowns or reduce your ally skill cooldowns.

Speed Manipulator

Champions with the Speed Manipulator role will have skills that affect the turn meter of your allies or enemies. This includes speed buffs and debuffs aswell as direct turn meter effects.
