Rector Drath – Champion Spotlight

Rector Drath is one of the best epic champions in Raid: Shadow Legends and in this spotlight we'll be breaking down everything you need to know about using her and building her from a beginner's perspective, all the way through to late-game mastery.

Rector Drath is currently available from the premium side of the Apprentice Pass and has frequently been part of new player promo codes in the past as well–and, of course, she is always available to pull from ancient, sacred, and primal shards.

Rector Drath is one of the best epic champions in the entire game, bringing an amazing amount of survivability to your teams that can stay relevant all the way towards the late-game.

THE APPRENTICE PASS

A new addition for 2025, new players in Raid now have an Apprentice Pass as a mini-battle pass to guide them through the early stages of the game. The top reward for the premium version of this pass is Rector Drath. Is she worth it?

There's no question that Rector Drath is an amazing unit, but be aware that as an epic champion you are likely to eventually pull her from shards (unlike legendary champions who you might take literal years to get–which is why picking the right promo code champion to start your account is so important).

This being said though, if I was enjoying the game and I had the cash to comfortably spend, I think buying the Apprentice Pass for Rector Drath is a top tier investment for almost any account.

Clan Bosses

Rector Drath is a very comfortable support for all three of the Clan Bosses. She's generally solid for Demon Lord and Chimera, but it's Hydra where she particularly excels. The Head of Torment places True Fear on your champions whenever they attack it, unless they are under Veil/Perfect Veil, making it a nightmare to deal with for newer players. Rector Drath is the joint-best epic option for countering it (alongside Inquisitor Shamael).

I still use Rector Drath in my 3rd Hydra team on my end-game account–I simply haven't pulled the better Perfect Veil champions such as Firrol, but it's still a testament to the value Rector Drath brings to a team.

Doom Tower and Faction Wars

Rector Drath is also extremely strong at Doom Tower and Faction Wars thanks to her generally amazing support abilities. She's particularly nice for Doom Tower thanks to her aura, opening up the possibility of building teams with high RES to counter troublesome bosses or floors.

Rector Drath's kit is all about keeping your team alive–or bringing them back to life if they die!

A1 – Scepter of Authority

Rector's A1 is a simple ability which can place Decrease ATK. This is very nice against single-target bosses such as Demon Lord or Chimera. It's a bit awkward to build ACC on her though, so you might not get the benefit of this skill.

A2 – Necro Mutation

This is a phenomenal skill with great healing and great synergy with her passive. Perfect Veil is an essential buff for the Hydra Clan Boss and there are very few (good) champions who can bring it; this makes Rector Drath a fantastic long-term investment for your account. The only downside to this skill is its long cooldown.

A3 – Spirit Form

This is a very potent single-target revive, since the Perfect Veil buff gives 15% damage reduction and protects your revived champion from being directly targetted by enemies.

P1 – Master of Ghosts

This is an amazing passive that will add up to a huge amount of healing throughout the fight–look out for cooldown reduction gear or champions who can extend buffs to get even better uptime from her buff. The RES buff is nothing to sneeze at either, and can lead to some RES builds in Hydra or Doom Tower.

Aura – 55 RES in Doom Tower

This is definitely a niche aura, but it's useful. The combo with her passive is very strong, allowing Rector to single-handedly boost your RES in Doom Tower by 105.

Best Stats

The key stats to look for on Rector are:

1. SPD
2. HP%
3. RES
4. DEF%

Rector Drath is a very easy champion to build compared to most.

SPD is essential to quickly rotate through her abilities to keep your team healthy. SPD boots in particular are essential, then try to get some SPD substats on every other piece of main gear and on your banner.

HP% and DEF% are both key for keeping her alive. HP% is generally better, but we recommend using our free Optimiser Tool which can work out the best ratio for you!

RES is an interesting option if you're going for a high RES build. Check out our Stages Tool to see how much RES you will need for a certain boss–there is no point in building RES unless you have enough to actually resist your opponent.

It's also worth noting that ACC is an optional stat, allowing her to place Decrease ATK with her A1. You're generally off skipping this though because you give up a lot of other stats to enable a simple A1 ability.

Best Gear Sets

The 5 best sets for Rector are:

1. Reflex
2. Regeneration
3. Impulse
4. Immortal
5. Rebirth

The short version is that you want to pick any gear sets that will boost her personal survivability, give her SPD, or reduce her cooldowns.

Reflex is ideal for maximum cooldown reduction.

Regeneration gives lots of extra healing to her–though you might prefer to save this for other squishier supports.

Impulse and Rebirth are from Live Arena so they are very tough to get, but they are fantastic options. Regular Speed sets or Immortal sets are good budget alternatives to slot in. The Protection set from Hydra is very good as well for extra stats.

For arena, you should look into Bolster, Reaction, or Stoneskin to keep her alive.

Rector Drath works very well without any blessings, but it's worth putting her on your wishlist to try to get a 3-star at least for the extra defensive stats. When you do get a soul, make sure to pick ther right one:

There are several great options for Blessings for Rector:

1. Emergency Heal: a simple option which will boost her personal survivability. Requires a Bloodshield accessory or a Shield champion on your team to make it work though.
2. Miracle Heal: this is a fairly weak blessing but there aren't many good alternatives, and it might make a difference in survivability on Hydra for your team.
3. Chainbreaker: this is the best general option for arena, but it gains most of its value at higher ranks. Breaking free from CC unexpectedly can turn an arena fight in your favour. It's decent for Chimera and Hydra as well!
4. Survival Instinct: this is a good option for low RES builds, helping you to cycle turns a little faster.

There are a ton of viable options for Relics for Rector:

1. Chrysalid of Rebirth (Mythical Clan Relic): this is an amazing option, allowing her to quickly cycle through her turns. You might prefer to use this on a legendary champion though.
2. Gilded Pinion (Legendary Event Relic): many players will be getting this from the Demonslayer Titan Event, and it gives her great stats and gem slots alongside damage reduction.
3. Infernosphere (Epic Clan Relic): if you're building her with RES, this is a huge stat boost to help.
4. Journal of Necrotos (Rare Standard Relic): the best budget relic: easy to obtain and it gives a lot of extra healing.
