Hunters Call – Summoning in Void Hunters

Summoning… The thing that brings us the most joy and the most pain in any gacha.

Sometimes it can be hard to navigate where you will find certain heroes, what your chances of getting them are and what should your wishlist be?

We are going to break it all down here and provide some insight on how to all works in Void Hunters.

Lets dive in!

What Are The Different Types Of Gritstone?

There are 3 different types of Gritstone in Void Hunters.

  • Hunter Gritstone
  • Gritstone of Reclamation
  • Paragon Gritstone

Each one giving you different odds to get certain heroes.

Can I Get Any Hero From Any Of The Gritstones?

No.

Some of the Hunters are locked behind Hunter Missions and do not enter the summon pool until these missions have been completed.

There are also some Hunters that have the “Consumed” tag and only available to be summoned from the Gritstone of Reclamation.

What Are My Chances Of Getting A Legendary From Hunters Gritstone?

Hunters Gritstone Rates

As you can see from the image your chances of pulling each rarity are as follows:

  • Legendary – 1.5% chance
  • Epic – 12% chance
  • Rare – 86% chance

If you are looking at getting one particularly hunter, your chance to get that exact hunter in each rarity are as follows:

  • Legendary – 0.115% chance
  • Epic – 1% chance
  • Rare – 9.610% chance

You can improve your chances to get a specific Epic or Legendary by using the wishlist feature. But you cannot improve your chances to get a Epic or Legendary in general. We shall come onto the wishlist later in this article.

What Are My Chances Of Getting A Legendary From Gritstone Of Reclamation?

Gritstone of Reclamation Rates

As you can see from the image your chances of pulling each rarity are as follows:

  • Legendary – 4% chance
  • Epic – 32% chance
  • Rare – 64% chance

If you are looking at getting one particularly hunter, is slightly different to other Gritstone. This is because you have a 3x rate to get Consumed units and a 2x rate to get Tainted. So the values to lean towards these types. You also do not have a wishlist here, so you cannot influence the outcome of your summons. As such your chance to get an exact hunter differ depending on their tags and which hunter missions you have completed.

What Are My Chances Of Getting A Legendary From Paragon Gritstone?

Paragon Gritstone Rates

You can only get Epic and Legendary Hunters from these Gritstones. As such these are some of the more valuable resources in Void hunters. As you can see from the image your chances of pulling each rarity are as follows:

  • Legendary – 10% chance
  • Epic – 90% chance

If you are looking at getting one particularly hunter, your chance to get that exact hunter in each rarity are as follows:

  • Legendary – 0.769% chance
  • Epic – 7.500% chance

You can improve your chances to get a specific Epic or Legendary by using the wishlist feature. But you cannot improve your chances to get a Legendary in general. We shall come onto the wishlist later in this article.

How Can I Increase My Chances To Get A Specific Hunter?

There are two ways you can increase your chances of getting specific hunters.

The first way is the wishlist which we will look at in a second.

The second way is by not completing your Hunter Missions. The reason we say this is because as soon as you complete a Hunter Mission, that unit then goes into the summon pool. The more units that get added to any one particular summoning pool, the lower the % chance is of getting any one hunter. So by not completing them you technically increase your chances of getting one. For example if you don’t do the Raven missions, she wont be added to the Gritstone of Reclamation pool, as a result if you do summon a tainted hunter, it cant possibly be her and will therefore be one of the other tainted hunters.

What Is The Wishlist?

Wish List Location

The Wish List is a way for players to increase the chances of getting specific characters.

When entering the Stonegrasp (summon area) on the right hand side players will see the Wish List for both Epic and Legendary units.

How Does The Wish List Increase My Chances?

Tank Wish List

Upon entering the Wish List, players will be given the option to select “tags”. In doing so you add additional copies of those units into the summon pool, thus giving you a increased chance to get those units.

In the above example, you can see I have clicked Tank. I therefore have 2x more chance to get Ygravain and Sir Bernard as one additional copy of each has been added to summon pool.

Wish List Tags

A player can select up to 4 different tags. Each one increasing the chance of getting a specific unit by adding another copy into the summoning pool.

In the above example I have now selected Holy Order and Tainted. As Ygravain has both of those tags 2 additional copies of have added, now giving me a 4x rate to pull him (4 copies in the pool)

However, because I have selected those tags. Every other Holy Order and Tainted unit with that tag (that is not Consumed) has also been added. Giving me an increased chance to pull those as well.

Wish List Increase Chance Pull

When we look at the chances of getting specific units. You can now see my chance to pull Ygravain is significantly higher than everyone else in the summoning pool.

However there is still the possibility I can get any of the other units so its not guaranteed. This is where players also need to think about how many tags you pick and how specific they are.

For example, if you have not completed the Galen Hunter Mission yet and you select the “Sage” tag in your Wish List. Only Faustus has that tag, therefore you will get a 2x chance to pull Faustus and nobody else. This might be the way to go if you specifically want him, rather than picking Priest or Holy Order which would also boost Besemin significantly as well.

What Is The Pity On the Shards?

A pity system is standard in most gacha games.

It comes into action if you have been unfortunate enough not to pull an epic or legendary unit in a certain number of summons. Its something you hope you never have to benefit from but always thankful it is there.

The Pity for each of the Gritstones is as follows:

  • Hunters Gritsone – 60 Legendary Pity, 15 Epic Pity
  • Gritstone of Reclamation – 60 Legendary Pity, 15 Epic Pity
  • Paragon Gritstone – 40 Legendary Pity

This means that you will never pull more than 15 Gristones and not get an Epic hunter on both your Hunter Gritstones and Gritstones of Reclamation. And you will never pull more than 60 on both of these and not get a legendary either.

Paragon Gritstones only drop Epics and Legendary hunters, therefore there is only a Legendary pity of 40.

Final Thoughts

The summoning system in Void Hunters is slightly better than some other games we have seen.

This is largely due to the Wish List system that they have in place. Its excellent that this exists due to the demand on building a variety of teams to complete different content areas in the game.

We will of course update this article as the game progresses through the testing phases and full launch.
