Karilon The Ringer Overview

Coated in armour crafted by illustrious Elves from the north, this Sir Nicholas imposter wields an Ice encrusted maul that rains a polar vortex on his foe. Karilon The Ringer is a Void Legendary champion residing from the Knights Revenant Faction.

The core mechanics of Karilon’s skills revolve around placing Freeze Debuffs for crowd control, coinciding with Turn Meter manipulation, Debuffs & a unique passive for allies to ignore values of defence. Opening with the Polar Vortex [A3], this champion will Freeze all enemies, then will deplete the Turn Meter of those frozen, followed by a 10% Turn meter fill of all allies for each Freeze Debuff attempt Blocked or Resisted. This synergy can be extremely valuable in Arena, and although this form of control will reduce the damage you inflict, your allies can ignore 20% of their defence as long as the freeze was placed by himself. Outside of arena, you could utilise these in Bommal to reduce the Dreadbomb’s damage, The Doom Tower to control waves, or simply The Dark Fae to control your mirror copy’s whilst depleting their Turn Meter’s [As examples].

Although Freeze may not be valuable against many bosses, this champion has a great A2 to place Hex & Weaken debuffs. Whether you want to place these when facing the Tainted Skavag, or simply the Hydra boss in progression, it definitely holds universal value where you require them the most. Last but not least, his default skill can decrease the duration of all enemy buffs by 1 turn, therefore when facing a buff heavy opposition this may come in handy!

Understanding Arena Roles

Champions normally form specific roles within an arena team. Our ratings define the roles that the champion fits and rates them on their ability to perform the roles. Below you can see a breakdown of all of our roles.

Cleanser

Champions with the Cleanser role will use their skills to remove debuffs and keep them from being re-applied.

Crowd Control

Champions with the Crowd Control role will use their skills to place soft (i.e. Provoke or Taunt) and hard (i.e Freeze or Stun) debuffs to disable enemy champions.

Damage

Champions with the Damage role will have skills that deal significant damage and are designed to defeat enemy champions.

Damage Absorption

Champions with the Damage Absorption role will have skills or effects that reduce the incoming damage your team takes. This can be through passive damage reduction or by applying skills such as Strengthen or Shields.

Healer

Champions with the Healer role will have skills that restore your champion's Health including Continuous Heals.

Debuffer

Champions with the Debuffer role will have skills that place debuffs that don't fall into Crowd Control or Skill Manipulator roles i.e. Decrease Defence. These champions may also have skills that remove Buffs.

Revive

Champions with the Revive role will have skills that bring your ally champions back from the dead including Revive on Death buffs.

Skill Manipulator

Champions with the Skill Manipulator role will have skills that increase enemy skill cooldowns or reduce your ally skill cooldowns.

Speed Manipulator

Champions with the Speed Manipulator role will have skills that affect the turn meter of your allies or enemies. This includes speed buffs and debuffs aswell as direct turn meter effects.
