Rathalos Blademaster Overview

This legendary Blademaster has travelled the world in pursuit of a mythical monster for decades… until he stumbled across the sacred land of Telaria. As Rathalos approached this kingdom, a Tainted Dragon scorched flames from the skies, but he was escorted to safety by Banner Lords. In their company he found a brotherhood, and together they do whatever it takes to slay the beasts invading their land. Rathalos Blademaster is an exclusive champion from the Raid X Monster Hunter collaboration, available from the 7 day log in programme [January-March 2024].

This champion slashes his Long Sword through bosses, harnessing it’s secret power from each swing to reveal a finishing blow! The mechanics of his kit revolve around single target and AOE damage, Increase Speed buffs to cycle skills effectively, followed by a unique passive to inflict more damage against targets under Burn Debuffs. Not only does this passive inflict 50% more damage against targets under burn, but every fifth skill used will deal 200% more damage! Therefore when facing bosses such as the Hydra, Dragon or Clan Boss [as examples], this will lead to devastating results over time. This passive coincides great with the single target A2 [Every second use of this skill in a Round will attack all enemies instead], as you can ignore 100% of Defence when targeting a boss.

Outside of the damage utility, Rathalos also grants a 30% Increase Crit Damage & Increase Speed buff on himself, coinciding with a 60% Decrease Defence that cannot be resisted against bosses. This will assist this champion in cycling turns effectively [leading to more damage], whilst amplifying his damage in the process. Last but not least, when considering content such as the Demon Lord, Decrease Defence is a vital component of any team, therefore pairing him amongst champions that can place Weaken is ideal!

Arena Roles

Understanding Arena Roles

Champions normally form specific roles within an arena team. Our ratings define the roles that the champion fits and rates them on their ability to perform the roles. Below you can see a breakdown of all of our roles.

Cleanser

Champions with the Cleanser role will use their skills to remove debuffs and keep them from being re-applied.

Crowd Control

Champions with the Crowd Control role will use their skills to place soft (i.e. Provoke or Taunt) and hard (i.e Freeze or Stun) debuffs to disable enemy champions.

Damage

Champions with the Damage role will have skills that deal significant damage and are designed to defeat enemy champions.

Damage Absorption

Champions with the Damage Absorption role will have skills or effects that reduce the incoming damage your team takes. This can be through passive damage reduction or by applying skills such as Strengthen or Shields.

Healer

Champions with the Healer role will have skills that restore your champion's Health including Continuous Heals.

Debuffer

Champions with the Debuffer role will have skills that place debuffs that don't fall into Crowd Control or Skill Manipulator roles i.e. Decrease Defence. These champions may also have skills that remove Buffs.

Revive

Champions with the Revive role will have skills that bring your ally champions back from the dead including Revive on Death buffs.

Skill Manipulator

Champions with the Skill Manipulator role will have skills that increase enemy skill cooldowns or reduce your ally skill cooldowns.

Speed Manipulator

Champions with the Speed Manipulator role will have skills that affect the turn meter of your allies or enemies. This includes speed buffs and debuffs aswell as direct turn meter effects.
