How Bombs Work
Bombs are delayed damage debuffs placed on enemies.
Bombs explode after a set number of turns and deal damage based on the attacker’s stats.
Bomb damage ignores 100% DEF, making it different from traditional damage abilities.
Bombs are one of the few debuffs which can be placed on enemies with the Stoneskin buff, and Bombs do double damage to enemies with Stoneskin, making it one of the best counters.
How Bomb Damage Is Calculated
For most champions Bombs scale off ATK, with the exceptions of Haggibah and Komidus who scale off HP.
Bombs have a default 2x ATK multiplier but most champions have their own unique multiplier which overrides it. This multiplier can be different from the regular damage multiplier on a given skill.
Bombs are not affected by Critical Rate or Critical Damage. Bomb damage can be increased by Weaken or decreased by Strengthen, or by any relevant stat buffs or debuffs on the placing champion (e.g. Increase ATK boosts bomb damage for most bombers).
Bomb champions require specialized builds compared to traditional nukers since they do not need crit but need to land their bombs.
Why Bomb Champions Are Valuable
Strong Against Stone Skin Teams
The introduction of Stoneskin increased the value of Bomb champions, since Bombs are one of the few counters to Stoneskin.
It is highly recommended to have a good bomb champion built to counter teams you know are heavily geared in Stoneskin in PvP.
Note that the new Mercurial set is dominating arena and bombs are very weak against this set. This means that, at time of writing, bombs are really struggling in the current PvP meta.
Valuable for Specific PvE Encounters
Bombs have applications beyond Arena.
Bommal is one of the biggest walls to new players and he takes massively increased damage from bombs, opening up a strong strategy against him.
Bombs can also be decent against waves, particularly for specific bomb champions who have boosted bomb damage against high HP enemies.

Ezio Auditore
Ezio was a free login champion at the start of 2026 and he brings very powerful Bomb debuffs against enemies in Stoneskin; if enemies don’t have Stoneskin, he will place Poison instead. He’s at his best when facing an entire enemy team in Stoneskin, since this reduces his Bomb detonation timer to 1 turn. This is also his biggest weakness, however, since it is very unusual to face entirely Stoneskin teams in 2026.
Astralith
Astralith brings only single-target Bombs, but the special thing about them is that they ignore RES. When paired up with a Spread Debuffs champion, this can allow you to get irresistable Bombs on an entire enemy team. This is a great pocket strategy for Siege or Tag Team Arena, but it will struggle in Live Arena or against enemies in Mercurial gear.
Kroz Wallbreaker
Kroz was an OK fusion for 2025, bringing in lots of great utility like AoE Block Active Skills and chances for Extra Turns as Bombs explode. His main problem is getting enough Turn Meter from his A3 to then use his A2 to lower his Bomb detonation timer: it is too easy for enemies to get a turn before him and to remove his Bombs.
Gnishak Verminlord
Gnishak is the true GOAT of non-mythical Bomb champions, being both a former fusion and a former guaranteed event champion. He brings lots of Bombs on both his A3 and A1; deals bonus damage against PvE enemies; can reliably lower the Bomb detonation timer with his A2; and can turn Bombs into Poisons in enemies survive. He’s well worth building for anyone who has him!
Komidus Darksmile
Komidus is the best Bomb champion in the game. Even with the new Mercurial meta dominating in PvP, the newly-buffed Deflection set has allowed Komidus to stay relevant. In his Base Form he can strip off Total Guard and massively control vulnerable enemies. In his Alternate Form he deals huge amounts of Bomb damage to exposed enemy teams, and his high HP pool makes him difficult to kill. He’s definitely a PvP focused champion, lacking full effectiveness against PvE enemies–but he’s remained a great mythical when others have fallen off over time.
How to Build Bomb Champions
Accuracy Requirements
ACC is absolutely critical for Bomb placement. A bomb champion who fails to place their bombs is often entirely useless.
For PvP content, you should aim to build very high ACC on these champions–and consider running them with an Increase ACC buff too.
Check how much RES you can build on your best arena champion; you want to beat this amount of RES. For high end players, 500-800 ACC is a good range to aim for, depending on how endgame you are pushing.
Attack Requirements
Unlike traditional damage dealers, bomb champions do not care about crit stats. Once you have enough ACC and a solid amount of SPD you will want to stack as much of your bomb scaling stat as possible.
For most bombers, this is ATK (for some it is HP). You will want to stack as much as possible so that you can one-shot even the tankiest enemies with your bombs.
Recommended Artifact Sets
Good sets for bombers include:
- Feral
- Perception
- Speed
- Accuracy
- Pinpoint
- Mercurial
- Stoneskin
You will want to focus on sets that give SPD and ACC, and then consider sets which can protect you before your first turn, or protect you from the Polymorph blessing.
Best Areas to Use Bomb Champions
PvP – Arenas and Siege
PvP is the primary use case for Bomb champions, where they can counter teams in Stoneskin and punch through high-DEF teams.
They are particularly effective in Live Arena, where you can suprise enemies with a late bomb pick, or ban away their counter to bomb champions.
They are also very good in Siege, where you can scout out an enemy defense to see if they’re using Stoneskin, then beat them on a rebattle.
Note that bombs are very weak into Mercurial gear, which is the current PvP meta. Bombs have had a big fall from grace in the last few months, but we expect them
Bommal the Dreadhorn
Bombs do massive bonus damage to Bommal, making them a strong counter to one of the toughest Doom Tower and Cursed City bosses.
The best way to beat him like this is often to bring multiple Bomb champions and the Weaken debuff and to attempt to one-shot him with these bombs.
