Dorothy Gale Loyalty Champion Announcement
Hey folks! We continue our journey down the Yellow Brick Road, and the next Champion ready to join us is Dorothy Gale! A brand new Loyalty Champion .
- Faction: Banner Lords
- Rarity: Legendary
- Type: Support
- Affinity: Spirit
Plarium describe Dorothy Gale as an all-rounded Support Champion equipped with buff strips, debuffs, and Crowd Control, making her useful across pretty much every area of the game. But that’s not all, like a true leader, she unites her friends on the battlefield. With the power of friendship on her side, Dorothy gains additional effects for each Oz ally she brings along with her.
Let’s take a closer look at what she brings to the team.
Skill Breakdown

Emerald Blast
Attacks 1 enemy. Has a 75% chance of removing 1 random buff from the target, and also has a 75% chance of placing a 25% Weaken debuff on them for 2 turns.
- Lvl.2 Damage +10%
- Lvl.3 Buff/Debuff chance +10%
- Lvl.4 Buff/Debuff chance +15%
Dorothy’s basic skill is pretty good. A buff-stripping single-target attack with a Weaken attached gives her some value in a lot of areas. We’re not sending a letter back to Kansas over this but it has use cases in early game in places like Magic Keep all the way up to Hydra (if they steal your buffs).
Windstorm (Cooldown 5)
Has a 75% chance of placing a 60% Decrease DEF debuff and a 50% Decrease ACC debuff on all enemies for 2 turns.
- Lvl.2 Buff/Debuff chance +10%
- Lvl.3 Buff/Debuff chance +15%
- Lvl.4 Cooldown -1
- Lvl.5 Cooldown -1
This is where Dorothy starts to shine as a enabler. A AoE Decrease DEF and Decrease ACC is genuinely strong utility. It softens the whole enemy team for your damage dealers while also making it harder for them to control you and come back into the fight. This gives her value in Dungeons, Faction Wars, Cursed city and more.
Furious Tornado (Cooldown 6)
Attacks all enemies. Steals all buffs from all enemies, then applies a Buff Spread effect, taking all buffs from Dorothy and placing them on all allies. Has a 75% chance to place a Stun debuff on all enemies for 1 turn.
Oz Unity
1 Oz Ally: Cannot land a weak hit with this skill.
2 Oz Allies: This skill cannot be put on cooldown.
3 Oz Allies: This skill will ignore effects of any enemy Polymorph Blessings.
- Lvl.2 Buff/Debuff chance +10%
- Lvl.3 Buff/Debuff chance +15%
- Lvl.4 Cooldown -1
- Lvl.5 Cooldown -1
This is arguably Dorothy’s signature move. A AoE buff strip combined with spreading everything she steals onto her own allies is a huge tempo swing. Then tacking the Stun on top of that gives her great utility The only issue is the prevalence of Protection and Mercurial, might limit this in PvP. The Oz Unity is what we need to pay attention too. Running her alongside other Champions from Oz turns this into a really punishing move. The only thing is, at the time of writing we have only seen Ozilda. So it remains to be see whether we can make a viable team.
True Friend [Passive]
Whenever this Champion is killed, all allies team up to attack the enemy that killed her. Whenever this Champion is revived, she instantly activates her Furious Tornado skill.
Increases this Champion’s HP by 3% for each ally turn taken, and increases this Champion’s SPD by 3% for each enemy turn taken (both stack up to 30%).
This passive punishes enemies for focusing her down, and getting a free Furious Tornado on revive means she can swing a fight back in your favor even after going down. The scaling HP and SPD bonuses also mean she gets tankier and faster the longer a battle drags on.
Aura
Increases Ally SPD in all Battles by 19%.
A universal SPD aura is always welcome, and it fits Dorothy’s role as a team-oriented support who wants her allies acting first.
Thoughts on the Loyalty Champion
Dorothy Gale looks like a well-rounded free Champion. Buff removal, Stun, Buff Spread and AoE Decrease DEF is a lot of utility packed into one kit. It means she’ll have a home in many general progression areas like Campaign, Dungeons, Faction Wars and even some Arena.
Her ceiling is tied to the Oz Unity on Furious Tornado. She’ll only reach her full potential once you’re running her with other Champions from the Oz cast, so early on she’ll play more like a solid generalist Support.
Overall, this is shaping up to be a good Loyalty Champions. Versatile enough to use immediately, with a clear growth path as your Oz collection expands.
