What Increase Attack Does in Raid

How the Increase Attack Buff Works

Increase ATK buffs increases the final ATK stat of your champions by either 25% or 50%, depending on the quality of the buff (generally, you’re always going to be using the big one). This is basically a 50% direct damage boost to champions whose damage scales off ATK (such as Kael).

(Note that it will not boost Kael’s Poisons or Warmaster mastery damage for example, so it’s not quite an “overall” 50% damage boost–but it’s still very strong!)

Why Increase Attack Is Important

Increase ATK will boost the direct crit damage of your ATK-based damage dealers by 50%. This is a huge damage boost, making it essential for top end teams in all areas of the game.

Note that some damage dealers scale off HP, DEF, or ENEMY MAX HP instead (or sometimes even rarer things like SPD or RES); champions will only benefit from more ATK if their abilities have the ATK label on them.

Also note that some non-damage things such as healing or shielding will occasionally scale off ATK as well, such as Raglin‘s A2 heal.

Why Increase Attack Champions Are Valuable

Boosting Team Damage

Increase ATK is essentially a 50% damage boost to your direct ATK-based damage. This is a huge increase to the damage output of your crit damage dealers (nukers).

Important for Arena Teams

In PvP a reliable strategy is to one-shot the enemy team. Increase ATK is essential to getting maximum damage out of ATK-based damage dealers and could be the difference between wiping out an enemy team and winning, or leaving them alive with 20% HP and then losing the fight.

Note that Increase ATK is also incredibly powerful when paired with the Arachnelixir Relic and Lethal Dose Blessing in PvP.

Tips for Using Increase Attack Champions

Apply Buffs Before Attacking

Make sure to build your Increase ATK buffers to be faster than your damage dealers. You can also bring champions who can Increase Buff Duration or Decrease Skill Cooldowns to get better uptime! You can also bring champions who Increase Turn Meter to ensure that your damage dealer can quickly get to their turn once they have their buffs.

Combine With Other Boosts

There are several other key buffs, debuffs, and effects which will increase your damage even further.

Decrease DEF and Weaken debuffs will dramatically increase your damage.

The new Shatter buff is the ideal buff for extra damage, giving a moderate amount of Ignore DEF which stacks with other sources.

Finally, effects like Ally Attack can allow your damage dealer to get bonus attacks in, to capitalise on all these boosts.

Seeker

Seeker is a fantastic accessible option, giving a massive 30% Turn Meter Fill alongside Increase ATK. The short cooldown lets him cast this very often, opening up strong early-game teams in both PvP and Clan Bosses.

Old Hermit Jorrg

Jorrg is a mini-Arbiter, providing Increase ATK alongside a Turn Meter Fill and a backup revive if needed. His HP Burn A1 is a nice bonus against bosses as well.

Ursala the Mourner

Ursala brings both Increase ATK and Decrease ATK on the same ability, providing a key damage buff and a key survivability debuff. She also has one of the best revives in the entire game, albeit with a long cooldown. Pair her with a healing set or a healer, since she lacks the ability to keep herself alive.

Eostrid Dreamsong

Eostrid Dreamsong Picture Profile

Eostrid is a very versatile support champion, bringing Increase SPD and Decrease SPD and their respective Turn Meter effects alongside Increase ATK and Weaken. It’s a value-packed kit that is great in both Arena and PvE content like Hydra. Her aura is powerful too, letting her perform an Arbiter-style role in PvP.

Arbiter

Arbiter

Arbiter is the OG Increase ATK champion, buffing your whole team and giving a substantial Turn Meter Fill. She’s best in Arena, where her powerful aura, base stats, and TM fill all combine to give speed teams the perfect setup.

Shu-Zhen the Valorous

Shu-Zhen is a bit like a turbo-charged Arbiter–but just for one target. She’s extremely unique in her ability to grant an Instant Turn to an ally, which ensures that even a champion built with no SPD at all will instantly take a turn after her; build Shu-Zhen as fast as possible, and she essentially lets your damage dealer have that SPD stat too!

Queen of Hearts

Queen of Hearts brings Increase ATK with a full team Ally Attack–and she even places AoE Decrease DEF with her A1. This is a fantastic combo that sets up any ATK-based damage dealer, and she has an incredible passive for PvP as well.

Arbais the Stonethorn

Arbais is very like Arbiter, but she brings Increase ACC alonside Increase ATK. This is fantastic for setting up Bomb champions or hybrid damage dealers with other powerful debuffs or effects in their kits. In her Alternate Form she becomes a classic tank, protecting her team from harm, which makes up for her lack of revive.

Hierophant Lazarius

While other champions on this list have been called Arbiter-like, this is even more so the case with Lazarius. In his Base Form he does everything Arbiter does but better, and he even has an entire Alternate Form as well which is a damage specialist. You can build Lazarius for high SPD, or you can build him slower and play more towards his Alternate–an easier build to do for earlier-game players in Arena.

Lady Mikage

Lady Mikage is arguably the ultimate Increase ATK champion in the game, bringing it alongside a full team Ally Attack and excellent buff and debuff manipulation on her A2. There’s no debate that she pushes Shadowkin champions like Ninja or Toshiro to the next level thanks to her A1 with a Shadowkin-specialist Ally Attack. She loses some damage value if you have multiple Shadowkin on the team, since it will randomly pick from them.

How to Build Increase Attack Champions

Speed Requirements

The most important thing is to have your buffing champions be faster than your damage dealers. High SPD stats will help maintain high uptime on buffs, and will enhance other support abilities of these types of champions too.

Recommended Artifact Sets

Sets which provide key stats such as SPD or ACC (if needed) are always valuable.

Sets which let you use abilities more often, such as Relentless or Reflex, are a common build option.

Finally, sets with strong utility effects, such as Protection or Feral sets giving a damage boost at 9-pieces, are also extremely strong.
