What Turn Meter Boosting Does in Raid Shadow Legends

How Turn Meter Boosts Work
You can find Turn Meter Boosting champions using the “Fill Turn Meter” tag under the “Other Effects – Positive Effects” section of the champion filters in game, and “Increase SPD” under the “Buffs” filter in game with the “Boot” or “Winged Boot” icons, or follow the links provided to see the lists on our website.
Champions gain Turn Meter every turn, based off their SPD stat. You can see this represented in game by the Turn Meter Bar under the HP bars. Once a champion has 100% or more Turn Meter, they are ready to take their turn; if there are multiple champions with more than 100% Turn Meter, then the one with the highest bar will go first (there is no way to see this info in game).
The Fill Turn Meter effect very simply fills this turn meter bar. If you fill it by 30%, the bar will fill by 30% (or go well over 100%, giving you a very strong position to be the next champion to go)!
The Increase SPD buff also plays an important role: by increasing your SPD stat, you can dramatically boost the amount of Turn Meter your champions are gaining naturally.
Why Speed Boosting Is Important
To put it simply: RAID is a turn based game, and taking more turns is extremely powerful.
Both Increase SPD buffs and Fill Turn Meter effects will let your champions take more turns more quickly than they normally would, enabling you to pump out more damage, maintain full uptime of debuffs on slower enemies, and cycle back to crucial abilities like Stuns or Revives more quickly.
Why Turn Meter Boost Champions Are Important

Arena Speed Teams
Turn Meter Boosting is particularly important in PvP. Check out our Arena Guide here!
On a simple level, let’s say two teams have a damage dealer with 200 SPD each, but Team 1 has a champion with a 15% Turn Meter Fill effect to pair with them. Due to the Turn Meter Fill, the damage dealer on Team 1 goes first and kills Team 2 before their damage dealer can even do anything.
This is essential for all levels of PvP play, either for setting up defensive buffs like Block Debuffs or Block Damage before enemies attack, going before them and preventing them from using skills with Increase Skill Cooldowns, or simply getting your damage dealer to attack at the perfect time.
It is also possible to build “slow” teams for PvP, but this is generally much more difficult to do, relying on very specialised builds in Stoneskin or Mercurial gear etc.
Faster Dungeon Runs
Enemies in dungeons often have very low SPD, so bringing Increase SPD and Fill Turn Meter can let you run circles around them.
For bosses, runs become much easier when you can take multiple turns for every one the boss takes, particularly for bosses like Fire Knight where you want to knock down his Shield stacks ASAP.
Best Champions That Increase Turn Meter
Here we’ve listed 10 of the most important Speed Boosters in the game: note that this list is not exhaustive, but it should steer you in the right direction for knowing what makes these types of champions so powerful! Check out our Champion Tier List for more info.
APOTHECARY

ACOLYTE OF THE SLITHER

Acolyte of the Slither is a brand new rare for 2026 in the Argonites Faction and he is fantastically good–think of him as Apothecary 2.0! He has the same A3, but brings better healing and an AoE Decrease SPD debuff (albeit the small version) on his A2. He even has a SPD aura for Dungeons.
SEEKER

Seeker brings a whopping 30% Turn Meter Fill on a 3-turn cooldown… BUT due to the Extra Turn baked into the move, it’s more like a 2-turn cooldown instead!! This makes him one of the most consistent boosters in the entire game, and he opens up some special Demon Lord teams thanks to this ability.
DEACON ARMSTRONG

Deacon Armstrong is a bit like Seeker, in that he has a 3-turn cooldown Turn Meter move with an Extra Turn that effectively makes it a 2-turn cooldown instead. Much like Seeker, this also opens up special Demon Lord teams. What makes Deacon even more special though is his reliable AoE Decrease DEF debuff, which is a crucial debuff for most content, plus his lovely SPD in All Battles aura!
CRIODAN THE BLUE

Criodan brings in an Apothecary-style Turn Meter Boost A3. What sets him apart though is the sheer amount of Freeze debuffs he can pump out with both his A1 and A2, making him a crowd control monster in content like Faction Wars or Grim Forest, and a fantastic specialist for Fire Knight Hard mode (where you can only Decrease Turn Meter the boss through landing Freeze debuffs).
ARBITER

Arbiter is the big reward from the first set of missions in the game, and she makes herself well worth it as a PvP monster!
Arbiter has fantastic base SPD and a top tier Arena SPD Aura, on top of a whopping 30% Turn Meter Fill alongside the Increase ATK buff for your damage dealers. She has a full team revive and some other nice utility too, but it’s her Turn Meter boosting which makes her truly special.
SHU-ZHEN THE VALOROUS

Shu-Zhen is particularly interesting because she has two ways of advancing Turn Meter.
Firstly, she has the standard Increase SPD/Turn Meter Fill A3 (alongside the negative versions for enemies as well). More importantly though, she has the (currently) unique ability to grant a champion an Instant Turn with her A2, effectively setting their Turn Meter to absolute max and ensuring they will go immediately after her. This can basically make any nuker be as fast as the fastest champion on your entire account–a massively impacful move for both PvP and dungeon speed farming.
HILVI THE RIME-CALLED

Hilvi is a very new champion who is jam-packed with utility. She has some lovely combos with Tormin the Cold–but this isn’t essential, since Hilvi is a fanstatic standalone champion as well. She brings full Buff Removal and Freeze, alongside a Decrease DEF A1.
Her A3 is her special move here though. If any allies are dead, it’s a full team revive! If all allies are alive, however, this becomes a 25% Turn Meter Fill move–very powerful considering her impressive base 110 SPD and SPD in All Battles Aura. On top of this, you get a Block Damage Buff and Increase SPD buff either way, letting you use Hilvi both as an offensive Turn Meter Booster, but also as a defensive one.
ARBAIS THE STONETHORN

Arbais was one of the first set of mythicals added to the game and she remains revelant to this day. She basically functions like an improved version of Arbiter in her Base Form–albeit without the revive. Compared to Arbiter, she brings an additional Increase ACC buff on her Turn Meter Boost, which is very helpful for any champions on your team who can place debuffs or negative effects.
Her Alternate Form functions as a tank and healer for the team as well, expanding her utility even more and opening up more Trials in Chimera etc.
STARSAGE GALATHIR

Finally, the best of the best is Starsage Galathir. While he doesn’t bring the strongest upfront Turn Meter Fill (it’s only 15% on his A2), what he does bring is a ludicrous amount of utility. He has a cheat death passive, protecting him from champions like Hegemon; he can provide a further 15% Turn Meter Fill with every single A1 attack; he brings Block Debuffs and a powerful team Revive; not to mention an entire Alternate Form entirely dedicated to controlling the enemy. You can build him entirely for SPD, or you can build him to be tanky… Either way, you will have one of the absolute best champions in the game!
How to Build Turn Meter Boost Champions

SPD is the Best Stat
The most important stat for most Turn Meter Boosters is SPD. SPD enables them to take more turns, thereby boosting your other champions more often. For PvP content, it is also crucial that your Turn Meter Boosters go before the enemy–or at least that they are fast enough to go before the enemy damage or control champions do.
ACC Considerations
Note that Turn Meter Boosters can also fulfil other roles too, so you should try to build other stats as well where appropriate:
- Champions who place debuffs will need ACC.
- Champions who deal damage (unusual–usually only specific mythicals like Hierophant Lazarius) will need C.RATE, C.DMG, and ATK or DEF.
- Champions who need to be tanky will need HP and DEF (and sometimes RES).
If in doubt, check out our dedicated champion pages to see our recommendations for every single champion in the game.
Recommended Artifact Sets
Any set that provides SPD as a stat is ideal!
- Speed set (appropriately named) is a great evergreen set here.
- Perception is a great set for any champion who needs both SPD and ACC
- Later game sets like Supersonic, Pinpoint, or Feral can provide SPD alongside other powerful bonuses (bonus Turn Meter; the Intercept buff; or Block Debuffs, respectively)
Check out our full Artifact Tier List for more info.
Likewise, any Relics which provide bonuses to SPD are ideal to target. Check out our full Relic Tier List for info and recommendations for every Relic in the game.
