Fusion Guide: Vlad the Nightborn
Vlad the Nightborn is a Void Affinity, Undead Hordes Legendary, he is this year’s Halloween Fusion starting today (28/10/2021).
Overall, Vlad seems like a fairly useful champion especially for progression, and since his buff to his multipliers, he will actually hit relatively hard!
While Vlad has been criticized for not being on par with other Void Legendaries, he’s far from unusable and could see some playtime on many accounts.
Vlad has a kit that specialises in setting up your arena damage champions by pushing back the turn meter of all enemies with his A2. The same ability when paired with his A3 single target defence down will provide good utility against any wave-based content like Doom Tower or Faction Wars. His strongest boss is likely to be Scarab due to his A1 decreasing enemy MAX HP but he will need more turn meter control to help keep the boss from having turns.
Abilities:
Thirsting Blade

If both debuffs are placed, places a [Perfect Veil] buff on this Champion for 2 turns.

[Will only heal and fill this Champion’s Turn Meter when [Konstantin the Dayborn] is on the same team.]
Is Vlad the Nightborn worth going for?
We always recommend going for every Fusion, if you are able to – Vlad is no different here, especially if you lack strong AOE control as his turn meter manipulation will be very handy!
Vlad will be especially useful for newer players due to how available he is.
As this is a Fragment Fusion, there are 115 available fragments WITHOUT winning any tournaments, so pick and choose what events suit you best as you can skip up to 15 fragments and still achieve the fusion!

Day 1:
New Events:
Dungeon Divers Event 1 – 5 Fragments – 2500 points
Spider Tournament – 5 Fragments – 1800 points
For this event, it’s time to dive into the dungeons! 2,500 points is a rather realistic amount to obtain. throughout this event.
This will sync with the Spider Tournament running alongside it, to obtain the fragments for Spider tournament you will need 1,800 points (roughly 1800 energy) based on the worst possible rewards from Spider 20 this will take 113 runs.
Day 2:
New Events:
Champion Chase Tournament – 1150/2500 Points – 20 Fragments
For this, you will need to pull as many shards as you need. You can also do this with mystery shards for 1 point per shard, if you don’t have other shards to use during the event, but remember – champions from the market and campaign will also count towards these points, which can tie in nicely with Champion Training.
This does line up with Void 2x Event, so good luck on your pulls if you have saved any!
Day 3:
New Events:
Champion Training Tournament – 5 Fragments – 4100 Points
Artifact Enhancement Event 1 – 5 Fragments – 2625 Points
Getting points in a Champion Training Tournament is very similar to Champion Training Events, however, you can also gain points for ascending your Champions. Reaching 4,200 points in 3 days might be difficult for some, depending on how much food you have saved up.
Previous fusions have awarded 10 fragments from these events with around a 4200 total point requirement, so this is quite steep for the number of fragments you’re gaining, but due to there only being 115 fragments available it may be one that you’re best off not skipping.
As for today’s Artifact event, you will need to level up your artifacts, to reach 2625 points it will take 8x 6* items to level 16, so this will take a fair chunk of silver.
This is a really good opportunity to do a good old gear clear-out, roll things that you might want to keep up to see how the stats play out, sell things that you won’t want to keep.
Day 5:
New Events:
Dragon Tournament – 5 Fragments – 2250 Points
Today’s event will require 2250 points, which is 140 runs of level 20+ Dragon, based on the worst possible drops – of course, this may be significantly lower depending on your RNG, so keep an eye on your points!
Don’t fear about this event taking a couple of days due to the fact that a Dungeon Diver’s event will start tomorrow allowing you to double dip.
Day 6:
New Events:
Dungeon Divers Event 2 – 5 Fragments – 1950 Points
Todays Dungeon Divers is a nice and easy requirement, which will link into the Dragon Tournament if you’ve not already completed that, giving you a great chance to double-dip for some rewards.
1,950 points should be more than manageable for anybody in the 3-day timeframe by realistically just playing the game.
Day 8:
New Events:
Champion Training Event – 3500/9350 Points – 10 Fragments
Classic Arena Takedown – 330 Points – 5 Fragments
Champion Training Event is a rather high point requirement but we do have 5 days to complete this! Make sure you’re focusing all your energy on the campaign when you can!
Make sure you are also levelling your chickens BEFORE feeding them to get the extra points, you can do this easily by just throwing a few brews into the 4*/5* chickens before you use them as food, it will really help you gain your points to make this doable.
Take this time to level up all of your food and 6 stars some of the champions you’ve wanted to for a while!
As for the arena tournament… As always make sure to use all of your daily battles, this event is active for 3 days which should be more than enough time to get you the required points if you are efficient in using your tokens, ensuring you’re picking fights you know you can win!
Day 9:
New Events:
Summon Rush – 20 Fragments – 1400/3500 Points
Fire Knight Tournament – 5 Fragments – 2250 Points
Today’s summon rush is now live with a 10x on nuking champions! To max the fragments here you need 3500 points, use your shards carefully and work your points out for this as you won’t want to use unnecessary shards outside of 2x.
Day 10:
New Events:
Artifact Enhancement Event – 5 Fragments – 2625 Points
For today’s Artifact event, you will need to level up your artifacts, to reach 2625 points it will take 8x 6* items to level 16, so this will take a fair chunk of silver.
This is a really good opportunity to do a good old gear clear-out, roll things that you might want to keep up to see how the stats play out, sell things that you won’t want to keep.
Day 12:
New Events:
Dungeon Divers Event – 10 Fragments – 1950/3500 Points
This Dungeon Diver requires a lot of points but we do have 6 days to complete it, it should be fairly passive while doing the other events whether you’re farming food or farming dungeons for specific events, you’ll accumulate points.
The event runs through the upcoming Ice Golem Tournament so this will allow for you to double dip your points for efficiency, I’d recommend using today to finish up any events you’ve not already finished. It will also coincide with Clan vs Clan tomorrow.
Day 13:
New Events:
Ice Golem Tournament – 5 Fragments – 1800 Points
For this Ice Golem Tournament, you will need to run around 112 runs of Ice Golem 20 – based on the worst possible gear rolls, of course, this number may be significantly lower. While everyone loves spending time in Ice Golem, remember you may be able to skip this tedious event!
This will link up with Dungeon Divers and Clan vs Clan, allowing you to triple-dip on your point gains!
Day 15:
I only count 115 fragments available on the News post.
Maths was not my friend this morning – thank you!
I only count 115 fragments in that list – am I wrong? So 95 without Summon Rush again?
I count 110 fragments. You can’t skip any summon event on this fusion again.
No, you are not wrong Hamo – it also say 115 fragments in the game, so the 120 above is a typo. Sigh – so yes its 95 without Summon Rush again.
The frags for champion chase were split 5/15, so summon rush *should* be the same. So if you do everything else only the first 5 should be needed.
normally there are at least two arena takedowns (with fragments)…thats why there are less
I’d really like to know what these new multipliers are. I don’t need him as a go second character (I have 3 warlords), but if they’re high enough I might play him as a void nuker with added utility.
You should add the best tip for the Champion Chase – that you should save up your champs and fuse Relic Keeper and Broadmaw. Each rare is 10 points and 250 points for Relic Keeper. Each void rare is 50 points, and the uncommons are easy to come by in the Broadmaw fusion. Save them up! Broadmaw is also 350 points if you were lucky enough to pull the void rares that can’t be fused (just once each from the 100 fragments in the Bazaar). I usually get 600-700 points just from these permanent fusions, then I pull a few shards and do the rest with mystery shards. Easy to do the full points then! :)
Yeah, no. I HATE having to clog up a vault and use potions etc for those fusions. Seriously not fun at all. I will not do it for a dupe champ. Even with the dupe system. Just no.
Completely agree with you, Teovina. You can always use the dupes as books if nothing else. Also, if you do get enough fragments to fuse the lego champ keep it for the next fusion/fragment Champion Chase. You need to be able to do both Champion Chase and Summon Rush lately to get these champs, so the more shards you can save for Summon Rush the better, particularly if you are not spending cash to get them.
Watching the last several fusion/shard events, I’ve noticed a steady climb in the points needs and shards needed to achieve the needed events and tournaments. It will not be long before only whales will be able to get these champs. Why not just cut out all the trouble and offer new champs for sale directly?
BTW, really appreciate the work that has gone into this site.
Fusions seems more and more a scam. As the above poster mentioned, it’s climbing more and more that even low spenders struggle with this now.
I would like to bring to the attention another probability anomaly from Plarium. Mystery (Green) shard pull and the drop rate of Rare champions
Last clan quest i tried to get 20 rares from Mystery shards but got 10 out of 2000 shards. Now during this fusion i have counted 3 rares out of 500 shards. My clanmate used 1000 shards and got 10 rares. Admit that this is still a low number of shards pulled to verify the 1.4% ratio declared in the shard % page. So asking if others are experiencing the same. thx
