Tholin Foulbeard Overview

Guarding the mountains of the Skyiron Dominion is the breaker of demons… renowned for casting corrupted visitors back into the underworld of Teleria. Rumors have begun to spread among the Dwarves – the mighty Kurosa the Covetous has risen once more, bringing her demonic followers with her. Now, Tholin has been summoned by the Mountain King himself to put an end to her trail of destruction. Tholin Foulbeard is the Fusion Champion of June 2025.

Tholin is a damage dealer who can both grow in power and weaken his enemies, thriving when facing foes from the Corrupted Alliance, bosses, or their minions. His ability to manipulate stats comes from his A2 – a single-target, double attack that ignores 25% of their defence, increasing to 50% against enemies from the Corrupted Alliance, bosses, or minions. Each hit also decreases the target’s attack by 5% [up to 25%] and increases his own by 5% [up to 50%]. It’s a strong way to reduce the damage you take while boosting Tholin’s output as the fight goes on – especially useful against the Event Dungeon boss and others like the Demon Lord, Hydra & Chimera.

The synergy between Tholin’s passive and A1 is powerful, as every fifth turn he takes automatically triggers his default attack. This A1 has a chance to apply Weaken to all enemies, with an increased chance against those from the Corrupted Alliance, bosses, or their minions. If all enemies receive the effect, Tholin gains an Extra Turn. Not only does this boost the damage your allies deal to affected targets, but it also helps Tholin cycle back into his active skills more quickly thanks to the bonus turns. On top of that, the Weaken debuff is irresistible against these types of enemies, allowing you to focus on building pure damage rather than accuracy.

Leading into his A3, Tholin first buffs himself with Increase Attack before hitting all enemies 2 times. For each critical hit landed on the first attack, the damage of the second hit is boosted by 10%, while also ignoring Unkillable and Shield buffs. While this skill seems tailor-made to counter the Event Dungeon boss – Kurosa the Covetous – it remains powerful in other areas too, whether against shielded or protected enemies in the Arena, Faction Wars Hard, or within the Cursed City. On top of that, Tholin cannot be critically hit by enemies from the Corrupted Alliance, bosses, or their minions.

Understanding Arena Roles

Champions normally form specific roles within an arena team. Our ratings define the roles that the champion fits and rates them on their ability to perform the roles. Below you can see a breakdown of all of our roles.

Cleanser

Champions with the Cleanser role will use their skills to remove debuffs and keep them from being re-applied.

Crowd Control

Champions with the Crowd Control role will use their skills to place soft (i.e. Provoke or Taunt) and hard (i.e Freeze or Stun) debuffs to disable enemy champions.

Damage

Champions with the Damage role will have skills that deal significant damage and are designed to defeat enemy champions.

Damage Absorption

Champions with the Damage Absorption role will have skills or effects that reduce the incoming damage your team takes. This can be through passive damage reduction or by applying skills such as Strengthen or Shields.

Healer

Champions with the Healer role will have skills that restore your champion's Health including Continuous Heals.

Debuffer

Champions with the Debuffer role will have skills that place debuffs that don't fall into Crowd Control or Skill Manipulator roles i.e. Decrease Defence. These champions may also have skills that remove Buffs.

Revive

Champions with the Revive role will have skills that bring your ally champions back from the dead including Revive on Death buffs.

Skill Manipulator

Champions with the Skill Manipulator role will have skills that increase enemy skill cooldowns or reduce your ally skill cooldowns.

Speed Manipulator

Champions with the Speed Manipulator role will have skills that affect the turn meter of your allies or enemies. This includes speed buffs and debuffs aswell as direct turn meter effects.
