Surprise 2x Sacred Event – Raid Shadow Legends

Spacer

Plarium has announced a surprise 2x Sacred Shard Event alongside a Summon Rush that will begin tomorrow, March 21st and run through till Thursday 23rd March.

This has come as a shock but may well be part of the hinted Events to acquire the other Supreme Starter Champions during the Anniversary Events.

Let’s check out Plariums Announcement.

The Announcement

For a short time only, from 09:00 UTC, Tuesday, March 21, to 09:00 UTC, Thursday, March 23, we’re DOUBLING your chances of receiving Legendary Champions from Sacred Shards!

Take advantage and double your odds of getting a Legendary Champion.

Also, at the same time, we’ll be running a special Summon Rush Event to celebrate Raid’s 4th Anniversary! Participate and win awesome rewards!

Good luck, and happy summoning!

Why is this Sacred x2 so good?

With Sacred Shards already being the highest possible chance to get a Legendary per shard at 6% Baseline, doubling that chance just makes it even more likely that you’ll get your hands on a shiny new Legendary.. or a dusty old dupe that will never see the light of Teleria.

With this being paired with a ‘special summon rush’ event, there is potential that it will reap huge rewards, however, given the fact we’ve just had a Fusion Summon Rush Event, many people, unfortunately, will not have sacred shards saved up due to the surprise of this event.

They are pushing this pulling like crazy promotions to squeee money.. i think they are running out of ingame revenue… they need money.. not to mention all the downtimes after the last update without compensations and usual update gift.. so poor behave…

I guess with revenues of roughly 100 – 300M $ per year, they are not running out of money.

How about that: If you don’t want to participate because e.g. you used your sacreds for the fusion (like me) just… don’t participate?

I wonder, do you still play, or do you just watch the news on HH to complain about big bad Plarium?

Nah, this isn’t desperation for money. They run metrics on how many shards people are holding and they aren’t going to release guaranteed events until a certain % of people are going to be forced to spend to complete it. What those numbers are I have no clue. We are way over due for a sacred or ancient guaranteed but players are holding too many shards. Once they drain the population they will release the next sacred or ancient guaranteed. That’s why it’s been 3 voids in a row because most people regularly zero out their voids or don’t hold enough to complete those events.

Torhild, please stop complaining about every event and just quit the game already. They earn a lot of money from the game without doing this sort of stuff, and Raids statistics are doing great rn. They’re going to make an animated show, which will drive a lot of traffic here, and are in no risk of dying for money reasons. Once again, since you seem to hate this game so much, stop spreading widely false negativity and just quit the game already.

A meno che non li regaliate,le schegge sacre costano troppo e moltissime volte danno solo pippe di lego!!!

Mr. Angry Italian Guy, you get a lot of free sacreds in this game! People only hate on these events if they look at bad shop offers and try to translate money to leggos.

I don’t know where Plarium thinks it’s player base is a receiving all of these shards!?! Like 1% of the player base is whales and big spenders that spend thousands monthly, but I am sure a large majority of players won’t be pulling Tuesday or Wednesday. This is ridiculous!

My gut feeling is they are holding off on future guaranteed champs (sacred and ancient anyway) until they sufficiently drain the player base of it’s respective shards. I know they run metric on the shard counts and other such data over the player base. So if they see that the majority of players are able to complete the guaranteed for free, they won’t run it and they will keep releasing bait 10x and 2x until their thresholds are met. I’m guessing the next guaranteed is going to be god-tier and that’s why they are draining us so frequently.

I think, to celebrate Raid’s 4th anniversary they want to give us the chance to pick our superior starter champion. We have Elhain as a fragment collector and had Athel in a 10x last weekend. The fact that there’s a summon rush with this 2x sacred event makes me guess, that we’ll see Galek or Kael at a milestone of 10-12k points as a guaranteed sacred event through the backdoor.
If they really wanted less f2p players to succeed in those guaranteed champion events, they would do them more frequently to give us less time to stack up shards.

Yes, just like pulling a Duchess from a void!

Shard sales are how they make their money. As nice as it sounds, they are not basing shard related decisions primarily or even slightly on player enjoyment. These are definitely calculated decisions based on revenue. The cadence of shard events is determined by money. Not saying that in a hateful way. I want them to make money and keep making the game better. But they aren’t looking at player QoL when they release these events. They are looking to sell shard packs. No doubt they use 2x and 10x to drive guaranteeds.

They’re holding it for sure, but I doubt it’s purely because many players are holding shards. A lot of people will frankly never save for guaranteed events, which would b eplenty of a revenue earner. They likely have some other reason for holding guaranteeds (triple guaranteeds at anniversary?), but I doubt it’s purely for the reason you brought up.

Shards are without question more common today than they were a year ago when you look at the overall player base. They gifted a huge amount of players unkillable clanboss teams (demytha, helicath) so everyone and their dog is getting 2x unm chests + 2x nm. The points for summon rush went up twice in a row already. They usually drop at least 1 guaranteed a month if not more. The last 3 were void (players way less likely to have voids saved). It’s already been confirmed they make decisions based on how many shards the population is holding. I don’t see how any of that adds up to them holding off for some mega celebration. If anything they would just do both. Could be wrong, but I highly doubt it.

Glad to hear someone else agrees how much easier UNM is nowadays! My problem with this theory is really the small amount of the player base that are actually holding shards (maybe max 50% of the yt watching community), and if you’re completely shards starved you’re not likely to buy 15 sacreds, or 150 ancients. They may just have chosen that guaranteed events were too good for the playerbase and bad financially, and strongly slowed down on all non voids? This may be a bit of a stretch, but considering how good they are I’d not be completely shocked if that was part of the reason.

Also, why are we all getting mad on an extra 2x? More oppertunites to pull shards for ppl that didn’t pull last 2x, sure, but it’s never bad with a 2x.

I never buy shards & have 21 sacred currently even after the Elhain events. It is quite possible to get a bunch of shards free especially from CB. I might pull some in this event but I will be saving at least 10 so I can do the next worthwhile frag/fusion on easy mode.

This is an optional event, no one is compelled to take part, I really don’t understand how it can be viewed as a bad thing.

While I agree, this could be seen as a bait event with a possible guaranteed around the corner, as well as a method to make the next fusion harder to achieve.

I don’t view all these shard events as bad things. Just kinda boring. With all the creativity Plarium shows in their champion design (both mechanically and aesthetically) you would think that they could come up with a more interesting and engaging event, but it is what it is I guess. They’re following the old principle “If it aint broke don’t fix it”.
