Strategos Islin Overview

Wielding the majestic sword passed down through generations of Elven legends, this warrior will double slash any threats attempting to invade his sacred land! Strategos Islin joins the High Elves Faction as a Legendary Defence champion, and is the August 2023 Fragment Fusion.

Strategos’s abilities are primarily revolved around protecting his team mates with powerful forms of protection, whilst also being a master of speed controlling & provoking enemies! Opening with Hindrance [A2] he attacks all enemies, which before attacking will Decrease The Duration of enemy buffs by 1 turn, followed by placing a 30% Decrease Speed on all enemies. Although the synergy of this skill holds universal value, some highlight areas would be the Hydra to gain control over their speed & buffs, or simply the Iron Twins Fortress to disable to Turn Meter boosts from the passive. Leading in to the A1 skill, this champion also has the potential to Provoke single targets, therefore controlling the Head Of Decay / Magma Dragon [As examples] will be great to counter their mechanics. Of course, these skills will also be extremely helpful when progressing through the Faction Wars.

If you’re seeking a strong protection option, this is where Strategos comes to fruition! This all comes down to his Flawless Strategem [A3], which places a 50% Ally Protection on all allies except himself, a 60% Increase Defence on all allies, followed by placing a Counterattack & Shield on himself. Not only are these powerful buffs to protect your team, but also opens the opportunity to utilise this champion as your Mischief Tank, due to the extra buffs on himself to make him the target! This skill also synergises with a unique passive that will heal himself by 1% for every 500 Defence he has [this is impactful for his own survival], however he also heals allies under Ally Protection by 30% of the initial heal, therefore your team will also benefit from the attacks he receives. Last but not least, Strategos has an Accuracy in all battles aura by 60, therefore holding value in the areas you require this stat the most!

Understanding Arena Roles

Champions normally form specific roles within an arena team. Our ratings define the roles that the champion fits and rates them on their ability to perform the roles. Below you can see a breakdown of all of our roles.

Cleanser

Champions with the Cleanser role will use their skills to remove debuffs and keep them from being re-applied.

Crowd Control

Champions with the Crowd Control role will use their skills to place soft (i.e. Provoke or Taunt) and hard (i.e Freeze or Stun) debuffs to disable enemy champions.

Damage

Champions with the Damage role will have skills that deal significant damage and are designed to defeat enemy champions.

Damage Absorption

Champions with the Damage Absorption role will have skills or effects that reduce the incoming damage your team takes. This can be through passive damage reduction or by applying skills such as Strengthen or Shields.

Healer

Champions with the Healer role will have skills that restore your champion's Health including Continuous Heals.

Debuffer

Champions with the Debuffer role will have skills that place debuffs that don't fall into Crowd Control or Skill Manipulator roles i.e. Decrease Defence. These champions may also have skills that remove Buffs.

Revive

Champions with the Revive role will have skills that bring your ally champions back from the dead including Revive on Death buffs.

Skill Manipulator

Champions with the Skill Manipulator role will have skills that increase enemy skill cooldowns or reduce your ally skill cooldowns.

Speed Manipulator

Champions with the Speed Manipulator role will have skills that affect the turn meter of your allies or enemies. This includes speed buffs and debuffs aswell as direct turn meter effects.
