Never has a champion needed a playtest more than Fortus, with a tentacle matching every individual action his passive takes, it is very difficult to understand how to utilise Fortus.
He brings a rare effect in his A3, a Secret Skill. This requires an action to unlock similar to the Mortu Peril skill. The damage will for sure depend on the multiplier but it reads like a major damaging ability but contingent on there being fear or true fear on enemies. I highly recommend that this champion be used alongside a more reliable fear champion such as Ma’shalled due to the Cooldown on his passive. If you play him alone the idea is that he is played in a go second scenario, is nearly killed but his passive will then save him. By cleansing his debuffs he will ensure he can attempt to place the fear however you will lose any increase accuracy buffs at the same time. He’ll then fully heal but lose all the turn meter and then attempt to fear all enemies finally putting himself to sleep. This really is a steep price to pay for the passive and may very well end up with Fortus being a useless champion because of this but fear is great for wave content and will certainly help you with progression with this debuff alone.
He does bring some positives. He does not require any critical rate if fears are out on the enemy, freeing up some stat budget for more accuracy. He also can place his own fears and this becomes a true fear without requiring accuracy on any standard feared enemies.
It’s hard to say at this point whether this champion is really strong or just a massively useless Davy Jones (the pirates film version!!).
