Raid Shadow Legends Update 8.30 Is Coming!

RAID: Shadow Legends is gearing up for its monumental 5th Anniversary with the eagerly anticipated Update 8.30 coming into the game very soon. This update is set to bring an array of exciting new features, missions, and quality-of-life improvements that promise to enhance the game experience for veterans and newcomers alike.

With Plarium dropping a new video on their YouTube channel diving into the details of what we can expect in Update 8.30 let’s break down what we know so far.

A New Look For The Bastion

As Raid turns five years old, the time for celebration is upon us with a new in-game event known as the Festival of Creation. This event is a massive party for all players, featuring Events, Tournaments, summon boosts, and a host of free rewards coming to the game. The developers have also redecorated the Bastion, Raid’s home base, to reflect the festive spirit of the occasion (check out the juggler in the Guardian Circle!).

The festival is hosted by Teleria’s master of ceremonies, Armanz the Magnificent, a Legendary Support Champion from the Barbarians Faction. This enigmatic and mysterious wanderer is set to host a variety of activities throughout the festival. Armanz is not only a pivotal figure in the celebrations but also a powerful ally on the battlefield, offering unique abilities such as Turn Meter manipulation, Sheep debuffs, and cooldown extension, making him a must-have for any player.

Armanz the Magnificent will be available through a special Fusion Event running from March 7th to March 22nd!

New Progress Missions and Marius the Gallant

Update 8.30 Breakdown

From this Sneak Peak, we can see new Progress Missions that will be available to complete in Raid Shadow Legends to obtain the new legendary champion Marius the Gallant, however, these missions are unlikely to be a walk in the park! From what we can see in the video these new missions will focus on newer content like Iron Twins and Live Arena but those who can complete them, will be awarded a rather special new champion to boost their account!

Marius the Gallant is a new Void Legendary champion who gallops his way into Raid: Shadow Legends with patch 8.30 and can be obtained after completing all 180 of his chain of Progress Missions. These missions will be unlocked after you have obtained Arbiter and can be completed alongside the Progress Missions for Ramantu Drakesblood. Much like the journey to Ramantu, expect a few challenging missions along the way.

Marius the Gallant Skills:

Auric Lance

  • Level 2 – Damage +10%

Finally, grants an Extra Turn.

  • Level 2 – Cooldown -1
  • Level 3 – Cooldown -1

Steadfast Knight [Passive]

This Champion is immune to Turn Meter reduction effects and [Decrease SPD] debuffs.
Whenever an enemy changes form or attempts to decrease this Champion’s Turn Meter, counterattacks using this Champion’s default skill.

Aura

Increases Ally DEF in all Battles.

Quality of Life Improvements and New Champions

To help improve the quality of life for players, Plarium is expanding the Area Bonuses in the Great Hall. The new areas will include:

  1. Faction Wars – Grade 1
  2. Iron Twins – Grade 2
  3. Sand Devil’s Necropolis – Grade 3
  4. Phantom Shogun Grove – Grade 3
  5. Cursed City – Grade 3

Although key areas will be at a higher crest requirement being grade 3, these areas are all high stat requirements which makes the additional bonuses a welcome addition to supporting you in these areas. If you have completed all your Area Bonus goals prior to this update – this should give you a reward for all your trials in the Live arena!

Speaking of arena, Plarium is also adding a counter in Classic Arena to see how many battles you have done in the week. In order to retain your place in the arena, you must fight at least 20 times in this game mode and prior to the update it was not clear how many you had completed. This quality of life change should improve clarity for those who avoid the perils of competitive arena.

Alongside your magnificent master of ceremonies and Teleria’s finest pony, Update 8.30 also introduces several new Champions, including what appears to be a new faction unity champion (assuming the banner matches that of Acelin the Stalwart) for the High Elves and a new Mythical Champion for the Ogryn Tribes. We also had a sneak peak at a brand new Sylvan Watcher which Plarium call an ancient fae spirit. We cannot wait to see the skill sets of these new champions! Keep an eye out for our spotlight on these champions once the news is announced.

why is Iron twins grade 2 and SD and Shogun grade 3? They should all be grade 2. Those bonuses will all be helpful anyway for these stages, especially accuracy bonuses.
I think Cursed city bonuses will probably be the most useful.
Previously DT area bonuses was mentioned also, is that not included now ?

Compared to other games, this does not look like an anniversary.
I think it is close to be very delusional to call a useless battle counter and a long overdue sorting filter as QoL.
Otherwise, the new progress missions are easier than thought…but…they are just another grind fest of content that is generally avoided and hated.
Do not make progress missions to force us into bad content. Make good content everyone loves to do. Do not make this game feel like a job….make it enjoyable.
Improve shop/bazaar, life tokens
Improve rewards so they are not net loss rewards anymore
Do something new instead of rerunning dungeon runs/arena/dungeon diver/artifact enhancement/shard pulling for the xhundred times. Make some interesting anniversary events, not regurging the same old content again and again. New champions are a source of income for you…but they dilute the pool and do not make the content more enjoyable.
the last enjoyable content was Doom Tower…everything else is just frustrating as you focus on money is evident in everything you did after that. Screw blessings and especially Polymorph. Stoneskin is a cancer and Live arena just plain boring.
Do something the players enjoy..!
This anniversary from the beginning looks like another failure in a long road of failures…lazy, no new content, just moneytization.

Well that is your opinion. I kind of like the new content and the game overall
