Acelin The Stalwart Overview
Behold the latest member of the Banner Lords alliance, and with the power of unity, he has become the master of protection! Acelin The Stalwart is a Legendary Defence champion, and is the first warrior to bring Faction Unity bonuses to Telaria.
Although Acelin has a great skill set on paper, his true potential comes from unlocking all faction unity bonuses. As he’s the first champion that has this, you can upgrade these bonuses by having up to 3 champions from the same faction in your team, granting an extra benefit for each of those you utilise. However, if you’re in a Hydra battle [as an example] and you’re also using champions not from his faction, those champions will also gain those benefits granted you have others to enable the unity in the first place. Acelin has skills that are desirable, by placing Ally Protection, Shields, heals & Stuns he can be used universally as a tank for your team. In areas such such as The Clan Boss, this is a great synergy to keep your team alive, especially as it coincides with a passive to reduce incoming damage by 10% while under Shield buffs. However, you may want to be weary of activating his A2 in this instance as these shields will be removed to inflict more damage! Therefore putting your team in a vulnerable situation if not timed correctly. Outside of Clan Boss, he will be great for Faction Wars, Arena, or simply the Doom Tower & Sintranos as a damage dealer / tank.
Once we start unlocking the Unity bonuses this champion really comes to life. Starting with Behold The Banner [A3], he will instantly activate this skill upon revivals, places a Block Damage on himself, followed by protecting buffs placed by this skill [granted you unlock all effects]. When considering the head of mischief, or simply the Scarab King [As examples], they will no longer be able to take these buffs from your team! Whilst giving your revived allies a better chance at survival post activation. Leading in to the passive unity bonus, your allies will become immune to crowd controlling debuffs, followed by a chance for allies to counterattack when hit, coinciding with an increased value of shields by 100%. Whether you want to disable the provokes from The Head Of Wrath, or simply want to tank the Stun of the Clan Boss [As examples], this synergy can be extremely powerful universally.
