Armanz the Magnificent Overview

Any event needs a Master of Ceremonies and with the momentous 5th Anniversary of the launch of Raid: Shadow Legends, we must call upon the greatest of all masters – Armanz the Magnificent. He joins as the 5th Anniversary Hybrid Fusion Champion in March 2024.

You may initially think Armanz is an arena dedicated legendary champion and to some extent you may be correct. Rarely do you want to Sheep (Polymorph) your foes in Dungeons and Boss encounters (with bosses being immune) and his abilities heavily involve Sheep’ing your foes. If you exclude those features of his abilities and simply focus on his Greatest Hits (A2) skill then you’ll realise how incredible Armanz will be for your account. Not only does this ability deplete the enemies Turn Meter, he steals the value of this turn meter and it is against all enemies in the wave. That means even with half filled turn meter bars, Armanz will likely grant himself an extra turn from this ability. Not only does he deplete the turn meter he then places a Stun debuff on the enemies. With this being a 3 turn cooldown, you will never face a wave attacking you as the stealing effect ensures he likely has this available every 2 turns.

Alongside this insane turn meter control, you also have immense arena potential. Polymorph in end game arena is dominant and when your champions exit Sheep form, Armanz will put one of your abilities on full cooldown. He can also force enemies into Sheep form with his For My Next Trick (A3) ability. This champion will require a focus on Banning in Live Arena or defeating instantly because with this A2 and Sheep potential, your team faces being controlled infinitely. Armanz is the result of combining Warlord with Polymorph!

He does have a weakness with many bosses either requiring no Turn Meter control (Agreth for example) or being immune and Sheep is not applicable to bosses. This makes Armanz incredible for progression and wave based content on non-boss Doom Tower Floors or if he can operate within Sintranos stages alongside being a Best Pick option for Arena but lacklustre against bosses.

Understanding Arena Roles

Champions normally form specific roles within an arena team. Our ratings define the roles that the champion fits and rates them on their ability to perform the roles. Below you can see a breakdown of all of our roles.

Cleanser

Champions with the Cleanser role will use their skills to remove debuffs and keep them from being re-applied.

Crowd Control

Champions with the Crowd Control role will use their skills to place soft (i.e. Provoke or Taunt) and hard (i.e Freeze or Stun) debuffs to disable enemy champions.

Damage

Champions with the Damage role will have skills that deal significant damage and are designed to defeat enemy champions.

Damage Absorption

Champions with the Damage Absorption role will have skills or effects that reduce the incoming damage your team takes. This can be through passive damage reduction or by applying skills such as Strengthen or Shields.

Healer

Champions with the Healer role will have skills that restore your champion's Health including Continuous Heals.

Debuffer

Champions with the Debuffer role will have skills that place debuffs that don't fall into Crowd Control or Skill Manipulator roles i.e. Decrease Defence. These champions may also have skills that remove Buffs.

Revive

Champions with the Revive role will have skills that bring your ally champions back from the dead including Revive on Death buffs.

Skill Manipulator

Champions with the Skill Manipulator role will have skills that increase enemy skill cooldowns or reduce your ally skill cooldowns.

Speed Manipulator

Champions with the Speed Manipulator role will have skills that affect the turn meter of your allies or enemies. This includes speed buffs and debuffs aswell as direct turn meter effects.
