Animus Development Guide
Etheria: Restart features a rich and strategic character progression system designed to give players full control over how their characters grow and develop. Whether you’re fine-tuning a high-speed DPS or building a resilient tank, understanding the four major growth components—Module, Shell, Prowess, and Level—is key to optimizing your team.
In this article, we’re going to help you understand how to advance and develop your Animus’ for the best results in-game.
Modules – Your Core Equipment System

Modules function as Etheria: Restart’s main gear system. Each character can equip six pieces: three on the left side (Mask, Transistor, Wristwheel) and three Cores on the right.
Gear Layout
Left Side (Fixed Gear): Mask, Transistor, Wristwheel
- Main stats: ATK, HP, DEF (all fixed)
- Sub-stats are randomly assigned. Every +3 levels grants a new sub-stat or enhances an existing one.
Right Side (Cores):
- Randomly generated main stats, sometimes percentage-based.
- SPD is excluded as a main stat and only appears as a sub-stat, making it rarer and harder to fine-tune.
Gear Quality and Levels
Gear comes in four tiers (blue to red). Higher-tier gear has better stat values and more set points. All gear can be leveled up to 15.
Set/Matrix System
Etheria: Restart introduces a unique take on set bonuses:
- 21 different sets, each with up to 3 tiers of effect based on total set points.
- Points per gear: 1–3, indicated below the gear.
- Tiered scaling: For example, Onslaught Set grants:
- 4 Points = +10% ATK
- 8 Points = +25% ATK
- 12 Points = +45% ATK
Some powerful sets require Shell contributions to reach max effectiveness, as gear can only provide a portion of the required points.
Shells – The Strategic Accessories

Shells are Etheria: Restart’s signature feature: floating smart accessories with major strategic value. They contribute significantly to stats, skills, and team-building flexibility.
Key Features
- Four Rarities: From blue to red, with red being the most powerful.
- Stats Provided: ATK+, HP+, DEF+, and SPD+
- SPD boost is highly valuable and consistent across Shells of the same rarity and ascension.
Skill System
- Each Shell grants an extra skill: from bonus attacks and AoE effects to turn meter boosts or cooldown resets.
- Two cooldown types:
- First-use CD – delay before the skill activates for the first time
- Regular CD – interval between uses
- Skills are triggered automatically and can’t be manually timed.
Passive Effects
- Unlocked through Shell Ascension (Lv. 10 → Lv. 40 max)
- Each ascension adds +10 levels and grants a random passive.
- Requires 1/2/3 duplicate Shells per stage (7 total).
- Effects range from fixed/percentage stat boosts to DMG bonuses.
- Passive skills can be reconfigured and even inherited by another Shell.
Set Attributes
- Shells can provide set points for multiple sets, unlike gear.
- Example: One Shell could have 3 points for 3 different sets (up to 9 total).
- Combined with gear (up to 18 points), you can reach 27 total set points.
- Shell set points are not fully random, but tied to Shell type—some sets are only available from specific Shells.
Prowess – Mastery of Skills and Stats
Prowess governs skill upgrades, attribute boosts, and Anima Ascension via a unique tile system.
Skill Wheel
- Each skill has a 12-tile Prowess Wheel:
- Skill tiles increase skill level.
- Stat tiles improve CRIT, CRIT DMG, Effect ACC/RES, SPD, and more.
- Skill tiles require rare items, different for SR and SSR characters.
- During testing, a free reset refunded used resources—uncertain if this remains in release.
Level – Traditional Progression with a Twist
Leveling in Etheria: Restart mirrors traditional RPGs but adds strategic depth via star upgrades.
Key Points
- Characters begin with stars based on rarity.
- All characters can be upgraded to 6 stars.
- Upgrade materials are primarily obtained from events and various in-game content.
Optimizing Growth: Dungeon Farming & Stamina Plan

To efficiently level up characters and build your team, prioritize dungeon content based on your current needs.
Dungeon Breakdown
- Grim Pursuit – Shell farming
- Threshold – Module farming
- Investigation – EXP farming
- GP Outpost – Prowess materials
Stamina Spending Tips
- Early Game: [EXP] > [Prowess] > [Shell] > [Module]
- Character Focus: DPS > Healer > Support
- Mid/Late Game: Increase investment into Modules and Shells, especially red-tier.
Important: Your Shell choices heavily influence Module optimization, so build around them accordingly.
Final Thoughts
Etheria: Restart’s character growth system is deep, rewarding, and strategically flexible. With so many interwoven systems—Modules for stats, Shells for bonuses and skills, Prowess for fine-tuning, and traditional leveling—it offers endless room for optimization.
Whether you’re just starting out or pushing high-end content, understanding how these four systems interact will give you the edge you need to build powerful teams and conquer Etheria: Restart’s toughest challenges.
