Ultimate Beginner Guide Part 1

Welcome to Etheria: Restart! If you’ve just landed in this gorgeously animated, fast-paced tactical RPG from XD Entertainment, you might be wondering how to get started, what characters to choose, and whether or not rerolling is worth your time. Well, you’re in luck—this walkthrough covers all the essential steps from your first summon to early progression, resource management, and gearing tips, all from the perspective of a seasoned player diving into the latest test phase.

Let’s break it down and get you off to a legendary start.

First Summon Tips – Who to Choose?

Right out the gate, you’re given a directional summon where you can choose your first SSR character. The selection includes heavy hitters like Tiamat, Lilith, Helkid, Xiada, Hoyan, and Veronika.

If you’re looking to make your early game smooth and stress-free, Tiamat is the standout choice. Why? She scales with HP—one of the easiest stats to build—and comes equipped with a built-in heal, shield, and nuke when transformed into her dragon form. She’s incredibly versatile and forgiving for newer players.

Other strong picks:

  • Lilith: Arguably the best character in the game for pure dominance.
  • Helkid: Reliable early-game carry with great AoE, Shield and Immunity.
  • Hoyan & Khloros: Raw damage options for aggressive players.
  • Xiada: A personal favorite from the creator’s first run, still viable.

The bottom line? Go with what works for your playstyle, but if you want a balanced and beginner-friendly experience, we suggest a Support type hero.

Should You Reroll?

If you’re a min-maxer or planning a long-term account, rerolling is a valid option. Etheria: Restart makes it relatively quick to get to your first 30+ pulls (around 5 minutes post-download), so it’s doable. Just don’t forget to check your mailbox for pre-registration and login rewards before rerolling—those rewards can change everything.

Your Guaranteed 5★: Meet Lian

Image of Lian from Etheria: Restart

Regardless of your RNG, everyone starts with Lian, a guaranteed 5★ character. She’s a powerhouse who can carry your team well into the mid-game, unless you’re totally burned out on her after multiple restarts.

Don’t sleep on her—especially with the Hyperlink Charter missions, which reward you heavily for leveling her. Summons, gear, gold, and exp? Yes, please.

Early Game Loop – What To Do After Summoning

Once you’ve completed your initial summons, the real game begins. Here’s the loop:

  1. Build Your Team: Focus on your chosen carry (Tiamat, Lilith, etc.) and level up Lian.
  2. Gear Basics: Don’t over-invest! Only +5 or +6 modules early on. This gear will be replaced soon.
  3. Farm Terramaton Early Stages: For HP-based sets like Wellspring (great on Tiamat).
  4. Shell System: Equip your heroes with Shells early, even if they’re not perfect. Prioritize HP Shells for tanks/healers and Attack Shells for DPS.
  5. Empowering: You’ll collect materials to empower characters. Use them wisely—don’t over-spend on units you’ll replace.
  6. Charter Missions: These will guide you through your progression and offer tons of rewards. Always be doing something related to your charter!

Combat Strategy and Elemental Advantage

Combat is a mix of tactical positioning and elemental counters. In the early game, you can mostly brute-force your way through. But around account level 20, the difficulty spikes. Elemental matchups start to matter, and you’ll want to rotate in characters who can counter specific bosses or dungeon types.

Stealth mechanics also exist when moving around the world—yes, you can ambush enemies if you stay undetected. Just don’t expect it to work on bosses.

The Farming Flow – Incremental Progress Wins

You’ll eventually pause the story to focus on farming:

  • Run specific stages for gear sets like Wellspring (HP), and continuously battle to stockpile gear.
  • Use lower-tier gear to gear up side characters.
  • Slowly refine your best sets for your carry and healer.
  • Farm modules and shell materials alongside to upgrade your core team.

The game rewards consistency and smart investing—not rushing.

Free SSRs and Login Rewards

By Day 7, you’ll unlock Lingluo, arguably the best healer in the game. Until then, Dorothy will do just fine.

Keep an eye on:

  • Check-in rewards: Summons, stamina, EXP, and gold.
  • Shadowprint item: Used for upgrading your 4★s into 5★s.
  • Extra pulls: You’ll get over 30 summons just from natural progression.

Final Thoughts – Keep It Simple, Keep It Fun

One of the best takeaways from this walkthrough is the mindset. Don’t over-complicate Etheria: Restart. Build what works, experiment with your team, and don’t be afraid to try things out—even if they’re not meta.

Use what the game gives you. Follow the charter. Build smart, farm smart, and enjoy the ride.

We’re just getting started – once you’ve reached this point, it’s time to move on to Part 2!
