How to beat Wyrm Odd

The Odd-element Wyrm is a brand-new Union Boss with unique mechanics that revolve around managing a stacking debuff called [Weakness Gaze]. Unlike other Wyrm variants, this fight isn’t about buffs or standard debuffs—it’s about debuff management, burst control, and carefully chosen purify and dispel tools. This boss starts with 100 HP bars and your performance is scored based on how many times you can reduce its HP to zero. Achieving Tier 100 = SSS Rank, while lower thresholds scale as follows: 80+ (SSS), 60–79 (SS), 40–59 (S), 30–39 (A), and so on. Even partial clears earn solid scores, but pushing to the top means managing every mechanic efficiently.
The boss’s key threat comes from Weakness Gaze, which it constantly applies through its AoE skills: Spatial Whirlwind (2 hits with 60% chance each) and Black Hole (100% chance to apply 2 stacks). The real danger lies in how this debuff interacts with the boss’s other skills. Digital Calibration starts by ignoring 25% of your defense, and each stack of Weakness Gaze increases this by another 25%. Meanwhile, Data Blockage (Passive) gives you 75% increased damage against Wyrm, but each Weakness Gaze stack reduces this by 25%, dramatically lowering your burst potential if left unchecked.
Fortunately, there are three core strategies to managing Weakness Gaze:
- Speed – The debuff drops by 1 stack every time an ally takes a turn. Speed-focused units like Lily, Kazami, and Chiaki the Echo help your team cycle quickly and shed debuffs naturally.
- Purify – Units like DokiDoki (targeted), Lingluo, Chiaki the Echo, and Sania can remove debuffs manually. DokiDoki is especially potent since she always removes Weakness Gaze and also boosts speed and strike prep.
- Immunity – Preventing debuffs outright is ideal. Cachi the Guard, Lingluo, and Helkid can all apply teamwide immunity, giving you turns free from stacking danger.
A critical second mechanic is Heart Barrier, applied by Wyrm with Converging Stream. This 4-turn buff can heavily mitigate your damage. Blocking or dispelling this buff is essential. Heinrich and Tsutomu are your only block options, but if you lack them, rely on dispel heroes like Kazami, Turandot, or even Xiada (who can steal it, albeit for herself only). Veronika may also be worth experimenting with if she can steal and redistribute Heart Barrier, despite her elemental disadvantage.
When building your team, remember your fundamentals still apply: bring Attack Down, Defense Down, and consistent single-target or AoE burst. Combine purifiers, immunity casters, and dispellers with units of the countering type (Hollow) for a 100% damage bonus via Wyrm’s Weak Point (Passive). Speed-enhancing units like Chiaki, Lily, or DokiDoki serve dual purposes in reducing Weakness Gaze and maintaining fast rotations.
To summarize:
- Manage Weakness Gaze actively—don’t let it pile up.
- Use Speed, Purify, and Immunity to control stacks.
- Dispel or block Heart Barrier before nuking.
- Bring Hollow units for huge bonus damage.
- Maintain core debuffs like Attack Down and Defense Down for survival and output.
This boss punishes passive play and demands tight rotation planning and active mechanic control. Build your team to move fast, stay clean, and hit hard—and Tier 100 will be well within reach.
